Re: Breakout Redskin for 2011-Offense
Well, I wanted to split between Williams and Helu as starting RB next year since I think they finish 1-2 in carries in some order, but wanted to leave the last 20% open for some combination of Torain/Royster/anyone out there on the FA market.
Do you think Williams/Helu will finish 1-2 in carries because Torain gets hurt? If not, why do you see them supplanting him on the depth chart? |
Do you think Williams/Helu will finish 1-2 in carries because Torain gets hurt? Maybe Helu plays teams and we'll end up going Torain-Helu-Williams on the active roster with Royster off the practice squad. But without the ability to cover kicks, Torain doesn't have an obvious spot beyond "featured RB", where he simply wouldn't appear to be the best option. |
Re: Breakout Redskin for 2011-Offense
Torain should be the guy for sure this season.. If he stays healthy look out

Re: Breakout Redskin for 2011-Offense
Other. I'm going with Graham Gano. I don't see Beck handling Red Zone duties all that effectively in his first year with Kyle's offense. If he struggles then KW, MK and the rest would also have stat compiling problems. Except for Gano who we know can pound it out from 50+ yards.
|
Re: Breakout Redskin for 2011-Offense
I think Hankerson should have been listed but...
I voted for BECK. I wanna see an accurate QB behind center. As long as he doesn't turn the ball over and just gets the ball in Santana (who should be resigned), Hankerson, Cooley, Davis, Keiland, Armstrongs hands well be better off. Let the playmakers do they're thing. Problem is... we need somebody explosive to better the QBs we keep throwing in this system. Sign D Williams or somethin we need somebody. |
Re: Breakout Redskin for 2011-Offense
I went other. Rex is going to be the starter this season and go to the pro bowl.
I went other. Rex is going to be the starter this season and go to the pro bowl.
As long as he keeps his head above the level of most other team's backups, he should at least be in line as an injury replacement.

But can he make a 27 yarder consistently? |
Re: Breakout Redskin for 2011-Offense
Definatley Kelly. I think he might be able to do it this year. Hate if you want but i think he will play more than ten games and do very well.
|
Re: Breakout Redskin for 2011-Offense
I think we will resign Devin Thomas and he and Kelly will be the greatest one - two receiver combo in the league.
hahahahahahaha |
Re: Breakout Redskin for 2011-Offense
Awww man. lol. was this supposed to be a serious poll? I picked Kelly to be funny in hopes I would be the only person to pick him just so I could get some laughs and then I'm #8 to vote for him. Maaaan.
I hope the rest of you were joking as well and not expecting Kelly to actually do something. |
Re: Breakout Redskin for 2011-Offense
Being drunk on giddyness that the lockout is on the brink of being over, Malcolm Kelly makes good on his potential.

Re: Breakout Redskin for 2011-Offense
I didn't count rookies because that's for another poll later this summer, but more importantly because I'm looking for that player who has NFL experience but has had kind of a pedestrian career, but then suddenly explodes. Kind of what happened to AA last year
And I'll go with Terence Austin, who I didn't entirely agree with drafting but from what I saw of him think he can be a complete WR
If you do a breakout rookie poll, will there be a final "breakout player from Skins roster" poll that includes rooks and vets to determine which player stands the best chance of breaking out this season? @Mechanix: Heyyy, I think that in all honesty we could see him in late game situations between 6-10 times this year. Does that mean we'll win all those games? Not necessarily, I'm sure we'll see our fair share of games that go down to the wire. But I do think he could be great in a Brandon Jacobs type role, provided he stays healthy. |
Re: Breakout Redskin for 2011-Offense
We'll do offense and defensive rookie of the years polls and then take the winners of each of the four to do a mega poll? How's that sound?
|
Re: Breakout Redskin for 2011-Offense
John Beck. Only because he will have the best opportunity to succeed. I'm cautiously optimistic. The lockout has hurt this team tremendously. There are more questions than answers.
