Re: Redskins Trade Jeremy Jarmon
I think we can finally put to rest the silly "same old front office" notions.
He's a better WR than some of you give him credit for...a great player as our 4th WR, which he seems to be at this point, behind Moss, Armstrong, Hankerson.
If we get Edwards, our depth chart will be messy...who to keep? Some good young WRs will be sacrificed: Banks, Austin, Paul. I really do not see Stallworth making the team now. It was iffy before but unless he explodes in the preseason...no chance.
Thats all true but why exactly do we need a 30 year old 4th string WR at the expense of some young guys with upside who can probably also contribute more on special teams? |
Re: Redskins Trade Jeremy Jarmon
interesting. Were trying to have a solid core all around no slouches but no stand outs

Re: Redskins Trade Jeremy Jarmon
You could build an entire NFL team with the draft picks the Washington Redskins have thrown away over the last seven or eight years.
It's a remarkable record of futility. |
Re: Redskins Trade Jeremy Jarmon
You have to keep in mind that there won't be any cost to release Jabar Gaffney. He's not guaranteed a spot on the team. He might even eventually get released so that we can add Rice or Edwards.
Which is just why this return is so perplexing to begin with. If Gaffney makes the team, then theres no spot for Stallworth. Who was acquired today. So on some level, we've been silly today. In defense of the FO: hasn't everyone. |
Re: Redskins Trade Jeremy Jarmon
well, here we go, another veteran on the wrong side of 30..............

Re: Redskins Trade Jeremy Jarmon
Clearly, they were unhappy with the production from the spot last year. But, I'm with GTripp - how many you keeping and who the hell are you cutting. Are they hoping to stash a couple of the rookies on the PS?
I count 10 "roster worthy" WR's before signing Edwards. Seems to me, Stallworth, Gaffney, Kelly and Banks are not likely to make it out of the pre-season. Moss Stallworth (FA) Gaffney (FA) M. Kelly A. Anderson Banks (2) Austin (2) Hankerson (R) Paul (R) Robinson (R) |

i hope youre being sarcastic. all the moves we've made are very vinny-esque to me. and Jarmon >> Gaffney. I hope it wasnt a straightup trade but we get some sort of conditional pick out of it. otherwise, we got majorly screwed. |
Re: Redskins Trade Jeremy Jarmon
Robinson kelly and stallworth will not make this team.

Re: Redskins Trade Jeremy Jarmon
Was Gaffney in Denver with Shanahan? Don't know what to make of this as I really liked Jarmon, and thought he had good potential.
How can you not have brought in at least one center? I just don't get it. |
Re: Redskins Trade Jeremy Jarmon
gaffney isnt that bad i live in CO and see him a lot. makes some good catches for the broncos

Re: Redskins Trade Jeremy Jarmon
I get the feeling at least a couple of WR will be cut this weekend, just my feeling. Banks and Kelly probably should be the most concerned, but perhaps even Robinson and Paul.
I realize there isn't much sympathy for NFL players but this to me is representative of the realities of playing in the league. Jarmon has done everything asked of him-lose weight to play LB, gain weight to play on the line, lose weight again, learn this position, learn that position, all while rehabbing from a major injury...only to be sent packing just weeks away from the start of the season. And if he had kids in school, the start of the school year. I wish Jarmon well I like the Donte move, I don't understand this one
Agreed, one of the reasons I liked the guy. I hope he catches on. He never seemed to be a fit here and may benefit from playing a straight up 4-3 DRE position. |
