Re: Wanted to Show these off
I see we need to have a "cornhole" making contest.
I just imagined some drunk hillbilly trying to play horse-shoes while tailgating and got mad because he couldn't drive the stake through the concrete. |
Re: Wanted to Show these off
We'll I make them as a side business. No need to have that contest. I would win automatically. :)

we'll see, i'll post my set when i get them done in about 2 weeks :) |
Re: Wanted to Show these off
I have never played cornhole, though I have seen it played 2 or 3 times. My observation of the game was that the thrower almost always uses an ice cold 12oz counter weight in their non-throwing hand. I'm not sure if it is a rule or custom.

I can say I've lived in VA all my life and never heard of cornhole until a year ago. Beans..... Corn? It doesn't matter the filling.... it's a bag that gets tossed into a hole. I wonder what the south south called "Lawn Darts"? what about the hoola hoop, pogo stick, stilts.........? |
Re: Wanted to Show these off

Re: Wanted to Show these off
Ok, I'll help out cause it confused me. Supposedly in Kentucky they have a game very much like what we would know as "Hide and Seek." lol.
Basically she said you put a can in the street and everyone runs to hide and the person who is "it" kicks the can and counts to ten then searches for everyone. Basically home base is the can. Looking it up under Wiki they used a different term but similar concept. [QUOTE]BurkenIn Europe, a variant of this game is called "burken" (the can), known in English as "kick the can." Here, the person who is "it" has to search for the other players and, if someone is found, run back to home base, get there before the other player and call out that person's name. The first player to be tagged in this way is "it" in the next round. However, if the last player remaining can make it to home-base without being tagged and yell "burken är sparkad. 1,2,3" ("The can is kicked. 1,2,3.") the person who's currently "it" has to be "it" in the next round as well.
