Re: The Running Game
Can't agree with that. I think it's the playcalling or maybe Hightower is giving the stretch run outside it's chance to develop and it never does. Even the one or two runs to the outside for Torain went for very little to nothing. I can only remember Helu gaining significant yardage on the same type of play (all-season) once or twice. I do wish Torain had Hightower's more durable body or Hightower had Torain's vision.
I don't know what you're disagreeing about exactly. I'm telling you he's banged up. I'm not guessing that he is. He is |
Re: The Running Game
Torrain was impressive, definately seems to be a Skins style back...I hope our FB get's well soon...imagine him power blocking for Torrain at the goalline.
I don't think Hightower can do "power rushing" the way Torrain can. Oh yeah...after 4 games have you guys notices the dramatic improvement in the interior line?...particularly at Center? Have you guys seen the Center pushed back 5-10 times a game this year? The Skins addressed one of our greatest weaknesses and boy...what a difference!
addressed it in house as well. good to see. while not an injury replacement i like that "next man up" philosophy. i know rabach went back to the ravens but with birk coming back then gurode coming on and now playing guard for them, and playing it well, im not sure he will ever start again barring major injuries. in fact, he might have been cut by the ravens. |
Re: The Running Game
SS - do the networks replay touchdowns of fantasy relevant players more than they do non-relevant fantasy players? i was sitting at a bar with 5 tvs with 5 different games on in front of me and i saw that dez bryant td a zillion times compared to other tds.

No. It was a great catch by Bryant, that's all |
Re: The Running Game
reputed redskins hatter said something in the postgame i agree with.
hightower stretches everything to the outside helu cutbacks every chance he gets ATV looks for the 1st cut and turns up field it seems like with hightower, he almost always keeps stretching the play until hes on the sideline. what happened to that beautiful cutback run he had against the ravens 1st team D? helu is good no doubt but ATV seem to be just right. 1 cut turn upfield and lower the shoulder.
I thought that was a pretty accurate observation. Was good to see Torain back in action. I said last year I thought he was the best back on the team and I still feel that way. |

It could've been, I was only paying minimal attention. Didn't look like pasties though. |

Just saw this post. I don't think I'd go that far, but he's definitely treading a fine line with that statement. |

:laughing- I think that's sig worthy. |
Re: The Running Game
It is Awesome having the quality and depth in the backs we have available. It apparently creates a healthy competition between them as well. REALLY great to ATV looking like that today......

I agree. White people can run from cops to. I'm offended by the idea that my kind couldn't run away from the cops. Don't you guys see all those cop chase shows? Driver is usually caucasion. |
Re: The Running Game
All I know is Hightower is going downhill statwise for 3 weeks in a row. I have him as my flex option and backup RB, but he might find himself on the bench ASAP. I have Sproles and Kendrick Smith as my young studs. I might try to use Hightower as trade bait.
