W...T...F. Why would you follow a group of banditos?
i know, it was stupid. like i said, we were expecting a good old fashioned skin rumble, and that would have been stupid, also.
we had never seen or even heard of anyone packing in our area. the thought never crossed my mind, live and learn. |

Nothing can compare to concern over a sick child, but I thought I was gonna be murdered in Poland in 1998.
Was living in Germany at the time. Went to Poland with a friend (Warsaw and Krakow are fantastic btw) and ended up in some hick countryside town. There were four of us, two smoking hot Polish women from Warsaw and us two dudes. Anyway the World Cup was going on in France then and anyone suspected as an Englishman or American was a target. A Pole about my size came across the bar and took a drunken swing, which I ducked under, but that got the whole bars attention and several big peasant looking Poles started my way. Not gonna lie, I left the girls, jumped a fence and tucked tail. Rural Poland is basically the wild west from what I could tell. Bombed out buildings and vehicles (from WWII) and basically no law. |
great show, another part to that story was i got pulled into Madison Square Garden security office getting into the show because they thought me and my buddy's ticket were fake. Of course those shrooms had been eating by then. We made it into the show somehow.
Mooby that story sucks. Of course it could have been worse, frozen deliverence style.
Classic. We need to start a phish/ grateful dead thread. I have so many crazy stories. :) |

The day my daughter was born. She couldn't breathe on her own right away. Nothing scarier than NOT hearing your baby cry when she comes out...then on oxygen for a day.
She came out and is perfect now thankfully. |

Re: Scariest Moments of Your Life

Scariest day of my wife's life. A couple weeks ago, I got up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. I started feeling dizzy and sick. The next thing I remember, I was waking up in the floor in front of the bathroom with my wife, frantic, over me screaming and crying. I didn't know what happened, but I knew my head was killing me, I was bleeding over my right eye, both eyes were swollen shut, and I was freezing to death. She called 9-1-1- and took me to the ER. I didn't realize that I had blacked out twice in the bathroom, hitting my head the second time and leaving a baseball size goose egg on the back of my head. Suffered a nice mild concussion which kept me out of work and off the road for a couple of weeks. Still having some symptoms from it although I'm feeling better. It's scary when you can't stand on your own, having major headaches, and not able to concentrate or speak in coherent sentences (and it not being from alcohol, lol!)
But, I can also back up to about 1995. My friends and I used to hang out in a Pizza Hut parking lot every weekend. This street gang came up to us and started causing trouble. I was the smallest one there, so they surrounded me and started talking smack to me. I did notice they all had guns in the back of their pants, so I didn't know if I was just going to get beaten to death or shot or both. By the grace of God, I got up enough courage to walk away, got into my car, and left. Very surprised they let me go. A couple weeks later, they all got arrested across the street and we never had to deal with them again. |

 Whoa. So what caused that?
	Wasn't a stroke, was it? |
Whoa. So what caused that?
	Wasn't a stroke, was it?
I think it came from a bad reaction to medication I take for my cholesterol. I have had minor reactions to it before, but these reactions were said to be pretty normal and that people usually will take it before bed to sleep them off. I had been taking the meds for a few years now, and never had an issue with it. However, this one morning, the reactions were intensified and for the life of me, I can't figure out why. I had all the tests done: CT Scan, blood work, MRI....everything came out OK. Thank God it wasn't a stroke. Believe me, when my wife was helping me up, I looked at myself in the mirror and saw my face all puffed out and swollen, I thought I had suffered a stroke, but it was just a side effect of the Niaspan. Needless to say, the doc took me off of the meds, but I'm still recovering from the concussion. I'll tell ya, I have a whole new respect for these NFL players who sustain concussions. It really does disable you for a certain period of time. I couldn't drive, could barely walk on my own, couldn't look at a computer screen for more than 15 minutes....I just felt helpless! |
