Re: Official 2013 Redskins Regular Season Schedule
So here's a question:
Teams are not allowed more than 5 prime time games. Say, however, that the Skins/Giants game at the end of the year is like last year's Giants game - win and in, loser go home, last meaningful game of the season as all else is decided - could it be flexed into the prime-time slot? What if the Dallas/Skins game the prior week had significant play-off implications, could it be flexed? Both? Just curious if anyone knows the answer. Also, who makes the flex scheduling call? |
The five prime time slots are a direct gift from RGIII.
The gift that keeps on giving.
How is that a "gift" ?? It's more like a pain in the ass. F Monday and Sunday night games. I hate them. |

No doubt. I see very few games with an across the board "Man, I gotta see that!" appeal. Our game against Philly for the RGIII/Chip Kelly factor Our game against San Fran. Seattle/St. Louis Green Bay/Chicago Atlanta/San Fran. Several potential stinkers: Atlanta/Jets - the Jets? Really? Miami twice - Again, Really? Oakland/Denver - Matt Flynn's Prime Time Debut, now there's a selling point. |

At least I won't be up late every Monday night. |

In 2011 The Cowboys had 5 Prime time games (one being a Saturday Night NFL Network Game)... and then were flexed on the last week against the Giants. |

NBC can only have a team on four times though |

Re: Official 2013 Redskins Regular Season Schedule
I'd like to see how teams are looking after Training Camp before saying they'll be a horrible game to watch.
You just never know. Didn't all the experts say the Redskins would be flat because of the Rookie QB and crappy team? |
Well then, we should just cancel the draft, since it has no effect on teams' performances.
If the draft did have an effect on teams' performances, making predictions before the draft would be pure arrogance. But as we know from your post, this is not the case.
my god dan. We can also not predict injuries either. Nor have we seen training camp. We can't see what big moves and trades will occur before the season starts with Revis or Fitzgerald. Nor can we see who everyone is picking as a winner who will end up flopping. So what we should just get rid of predictions as a whole right? No one should predict anything right? |

No one is arguing the giving up of predictions altogether. But by your own logic above, any prediction made on April 18 (rather than waiting for August) is foolhardy. |
Re: Official 2013 Redskins Regular Season Schedule
I think he was only speaking on quarterbacks. There will always be impact players from the draft.
For the most part yes, it was the QBs. But occasionally a JaDevon Clowney, Von Miller, Deion Sanders, Warren Sapp, Julius Peppers will come out and cause a major impact on their team (Clowney is considered the Andrew Luck of defense). I don't see any big defensive guys in this draft that will be game changers causing their team to win enough games to basically do a flip like they were the season before. And as you already mentioned, the QBs in this draft are awful. I don't see any of them having an Andrew Luck, RG3, Russell Wilson impact. Hell I think best case Geno smith can have a Tannehill impact. Like people have been saying, this draft is full of depth and solid players from the mid first onto the 4th round. Whereas last years draft had major talent in the top 15 picks, then fizzled out. (Simple terms this draft has talent thats going to win you 2-4 games more to your record [depending on the team that could be good]. Last years draft had talent that could win you 4-8 games as we saw with the colts. |

Or just fun conjecture for bragging rights at the end of the season? I will always pick the Skins to go 19-0 and one day I'll be right. In your face <no_one_in_particular>! |

But, looking at the schedule today with what we have to judge it by, I am seeing very little "Oh wow, I can't wait for that game". However, you never know how the season will shake out, and it is why I was glad they adopted flex scheduling in the first place. Bottom line, it is football and, like the addicted drone I am, I will be watching. |
