Whether he quits or is fired, Shanny isn't coming back for 2014.

He won't even finish 2013 |
Re: Mike Shanahan was Ready to Leave Washington after 2012 Season
I posted this question on Extremeskins.com, "Shannahan and Pete Carroll were hired within in days of one another, who's done a better job building their roster and why, plus name one position we're better at compared to Seattle". Of-course there were a lot of excuses.

We should be hearing something by the end of the day or early tomorrow morning. That goose is cooked. |
I'd be shocked if mike is our HC tomorrow and if he is its a Damn shame on the part of Dan.

Re: Mike Shanahan was Ready to Leave Washington after 2012 Season
I'm sure Shanahan is making these comments, and equally sure it's only to distract from his own failures. Aside from a brief stint in Denver where he was given the keys to a SB caliber team Mike has been an utter failure as an HC (Oakland and DC).
True but what if it was Snyder that was pushing for the trade? Rumors keep popping up that Shanahan wanted Tannehill and keep the picks.
Shanahan will say anything to cover his ass. He's trying to downplay his failures. It's that simple. Time to remove the poison from the body. |

what about now? |
Re: Mike Shanahan was Ready to Leave Washington after 2012 Season
i personally saw competent play calling for once in a long time. one of the best running offenses the past 2 years. one of the best points per game last year.
do we not remember all the years of not cracking 20 points a game? atleast we had a professional offense. HC and OC also did a great job last year of play calling and play action as many times a long pass play only worked if the first read was wide open .. and last year RG3's first read on long pass plays were wide open. the defense absolutely sucked ass this year. the secondary is atrocious. no way to hide that. at least mike gave us a fun team to watch (sans today). i dont want to go back to boring predictable low scoring redskins football. |

The rest of the time Shanahan has been here, the team has been terrible. It has been just as bad as any other year under Snyder. Shanahan was blinded the money and now he understands why no coach will succeed under Snyder unless they tell him to shut up and get out of operations. |

Lately, Alfmo has had under 50 yards and less than 15 carries over the last 3 games. It's getting the point where he barely gets any carries. I don't blame him at all for that, but the guy has zero help. Between a terrible offensive line, bad playcalling and completely getting annihilated before half-time in the majority of our games this season, I don't think the running game is that good but it's NOT Alfmo's fault. Everything Alfmo has gotten statistically, he's done it all on his own with what little chances he's getting. |
