The only game I'm ever going to pick the Skins to lose this season is against Seattle (In which we'll get our asses kicked clear across Washington State)
Skins win. Skins 24 Jags 17
That will be an ass kicking from ocean to ocean then since Seattle is a home game. |
Re: Skins vs Jags Pregame Style
I think the Skins win this one. I think the turnovers get cleaned up and we finish this one off.
Skins -17 Jags- 13 |

It'll be that bad... But I'll talk about that when that game comes up. :D |

I'm guessing there are no professional motivational speakers here on the WP. Im changing my original prediction of 20-6 Skins to 21-5 Skins. :oink:

Skins vs Jags Pregame Style
This is the type of game we usually lose, not feeling entirely optimistic.
I hate to say it, but any game is the type of game we usually lose. I really wont be surprised win or lose. Complete toss up imo. If we crush em ill feel a lot better about this year though. |
Re: Skins vs Jags Pregame Style
No mistakes and we win. No mistakes and we win. The oline has it easy this week give me a break.

Re: Skins vs Jags Pregame Style
I'm not going to try to pick any games yet because anything could happen with this team. They have enough talent to beat just about anybody but they also can blow any game due to their propensity to make egregious mistakes.
In the Houston game, the Redskins looked sickeningly like the 2013 team. I'm hoping to see a new, improved 2014 Redskins team soon but I'm not counting on it. I tend to be optimistic about the Skins but they are going to have prove themselves to me this time around. I'm just sick and tired of losing games we could have won because we committed multiple turnovers. Before you ask me how I can be so negative after just one game, let me explain that I view the Houston loss as simply an extension of the poor play that cost us dearly in 2013. To me, this team is no better than the 2013 team until they can fix the problems that killed us last season. |

IMO, the problems last year, especially on ST, was piss poor tackling, and lack of effort. Sunday we saw a ST and Defense vastly improved in tackling and effort plays. There were botches that totaled 8 points, and that can't keep happening but play in play out the effort and solid tackles were there. On offense, the Redzone issues might remain, but we don't know because 3 key players fumbled at three key times(I am counting Morris' non-fumble, because that was inside the 10 as well). I still haven't seen Paul's fumble so I don't know how it occurred, but the Griffin/Morris exchange obviously just can't happen. So instead of looking incompetent and non-competitive, they certainly looked like they were playing hard. Now, stupid mistakes, that's been every year, even in 2012 I remember early games where the Skins made you shake your head. One day maybe that won't happen any more, but it's been a long time since we have seen bonehead free play for a season. Heck we can always remember Gus Frerotte if we needed to go back to demonstrate how long it's been going on. :( |

I think KI was saying "he thinks we might be who we thought we werent going to be anymore".

Re: Skins vs Jags Pregame Style
The Eagles rolled 34 points on these bums in a half. If they did it then why can't we?

BTW that blown coverage appears to have been from DHall. He was on the wrong side of the field and didn't cover anyone on the play. |

Last week's game is directly comparable to last season. Does any of the following sound familiar? 2013 Game 1 Phil - After a poor kick return, Washington found themselves backed up in their own end, and Griffin and Morris exchanged a poor option pitch, and Morris fumbled in the end zone, forced to fall on it and giving Philadelphia a safety. 2014 - Turnover on botched handoff vs Houston hurts us in Red Zone. 2013 Game 4 Oakland - Sav Rocca's punt was blocked by Raiders unning back Rashad Jennings and recovered by fellow Raiders running back Jeremy Stewart in the end zone for a Raiders touchdown and a 7–0 lead. 2014 - Houston scores on blocked punt return to take 7-0 lead over Skins. It couldn't get much more comparable than these examples. |

You could make a highlight reel with circus music voice over from almost each and every game we played last year and this. Lets not forget the tackle we made on our own player (Roberts) on the punt return. Thank God it was week one and at the moment there is a relatively small sample of football follies footage provided by the Redskins. The season is very young- still plenty o time to turn it around. |

But to look at those two singular comparisons and say this team= 2013 team is to ignore 58 minutes of other plays. As I said, last year's team couldn't/wouldn't tackle for anything. In one outing this season, the team showed more tackling savvy then all last year (and yes they still blew it on the 71yd TD). It's something a new coach can build on, and hopefully change. |
