Re: Redskins reportedly are not bringing back Colt McCoy
I mean who cares? There is still a (very slim) chance that Cousins/RG3 could end up as something for this franchise. McCoy not so much, he's just not good enough at the NFL level. I'm just glad that a grown up is in charge now.
Wish him the best though. That Cowboys game was literally the only fun I had watching the Redskins last year. |
Re: Redskins reportedly are not bringing back Colt McCoy
The Redskins don't need McCoy. Will love him for how he played against the Cowboys, but other than that, he's not starting material.
Just ride with RG3 and Cousins, rebuild that offensive line, and see where we stand at quarterback. Part of the problem with RG3 and Cousins was pressure, surely if the pass protection is solid, that alone would help improve any quarterback's play. |
Re: Redskins reportedly are not bringing back Colt McCoy
If Mariota is not the pick at 5, I could see Scott going after Huntley or Mannion in the 2nd or 3rd round if they are available.

No way Jose.....that is offensive line/safety territory. I'm fine with a QB but not till after the 4th round. |
Re: Redskins reportedly are not bringing back Colt McCoy
Leave the QB spot alone till next year if needed. Way to many holes to even waste a pick on one

In Seattle, they kept drafting and kept signing FA until they got a good one. They went through a lot and never broke the bank. We should probably employ the same strategy. Some people consider qb the most important position. |

Hmmmm.....I can see McCloughan drafting Garrett Grayson in the 3rd round.... |
Re: Redskins reportedly are not bringing back Colt McCoy
if you think you can get a 10year starter at QB, you NEVER pass on it. you shouldn't trade 42 draft picks for it either, but without better QB play this year, our team isn't going anywhere. RG/KC have limited upside as far as being amazing players at this point. KC will always have int problems, and RGIII needs to read defenses and stop thinking he's better than he actually is.

Colt is back:
Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter · 12m12 minutes ago QB Colt McCoy is re-signing with Washington, per source. So it's RGIII, Kirk Cousins and McCoy back together again.
|

LOL....let the haters back pedal now.

Re: Redskins reportedly are not bringing back Colt McCoy
Makes sense, we will need a vet to back up Cousins

Yep, we'll need another vet after the Griffin trade. :oink: |
Re: Redskins reportedly are not bringing back Colt McCoy
We don't need both them as backups. Can we please trade Cousins for the highest pick we can get then draft a young QB in the later rounds that has some upside and wont threaten RGIII as starter this year? Having 1 guy doing that is enough. Don't want QB carousel all year. Hopefully RGIII starts all 16 and Colt is solid backup.
