Re: Who is Kirk Cousins?
There's no way I'd put Griffin back on the field. Ride it out with Kirk.
Seriously. He can't even execute simple high school things like 3 step drops. Nor can he read his progressions. Not to mention the abysmal pocket presence. Why would anyone want to put him on the field? For once just trust that the staff knows what they're doing. Right now Kirk is the best of the worst. Going to the worst of the worst is not going to help. |

Re: Who is Kirk Cousins?
Cousins should start the rest of the season.
- He may get better w/DJax in lineup, but he's probably a backup. Griffin should stay on the bench, try to trade him, but if not let him go in January. - I'd bet Griffin goes to Eagles and does really really well We should draft a QB replacement next year. Should also draft a good WR to replace DJax / Garcon. We still have a chance at winning the division if we get hot. But more likely we'll be 6-10 and will have a top 10-15 draft pick again next year. |

This year is to reconcile....who can do...what
That's....what's happening |
I only know Kirk's skill set and his previous production levels.
I don't know what he is or what he'll become. Right now he is the preferred starting QB for a HC whose judgement is rightfully being called into question.
This is without a doubt the best answer to my question that I've seen yet. |
Re: Who is Kirk Cousins?
That interception to Revis was the sorriest and most pitiful INT I ever saw....the way Cousins looked off Ryan Grant seeing that Revis was covering him, eyed down field, and then came back to Grant and tossing the pick to Revis... there are countless backups, third stringers, and even quarterbacks on practice squads who would not have attempted that throw.
Eli threw pretty much the same interception the other night against the Eagles. All QBs make mistakes, and most QBs make A LOT of mistakes early in their careers. Look, he's been innacurate, inconsistent and downright bad at times. However, he has also been accurate and really good at times. Some of the INTs have been bad decisions, some of the INTs have been bad bounces, some of the INTs have been great defensive plays, some of the INTs have been the result of bad routes. Who is Kirk Cousins? Ask me next year.... |
His arm is limited. Those type of throws just aren't his strength.
I don't agree with that Matt. I'm not sold Kirk is a starter, but his arm isn't limited. I've seen him make all the throws. |

I agree.....I think we already know....he is understandably a young quarterback who continues to make dumb ass choices with the football. |

Yeah thats what has me worried. He just hasnt seemed to make much improvement. He seems to be the same guy he has always been. I was one that was high on Cousins as a rookie, but he seems to be making the same mistakes in year 4 that he was making in year 1 (and even in college). I had expected some improvement, but he doesnt seem to be making much of it. At this point, he is looking like a career backup. Good enough to be in the league, but not good enough to be an every day starter. |

Ok you got me. Ask me at the end of this year then...but this is a dumb question at this point. Fact is he'll be back next year regardless of what anyone on this forum thinks about him. |

Not saying it will happen, but if some GM decides that Kirk could turn into something, they might just offer a pretty big deal. Not a deal like the elites are getting, but still a big deal. Atp, if someone offered him 15 mil a year, I dont see how the Redskins can match that unless its only a one year deal. Even on a one year deal, thats way to high for what he has achieved so far. Would be better to go after Hasselbeck (or stick with McCoy) as a bridge QB than pay that. |
