So no DY next year:
Mike Jones @MikeJonesWaPo 4s4 seconds ago Redskins have informed fullback Darrel Young that they are going in another direction, source says. Has spent all 6 NFL seasons w Washington Don't know how to feel about this.
I don't like it. High character guy, good run blocker (when used), and good on special teams. It's a system cut - I get it. But I really like the guy and would like to have seen the staff find a way to use him. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Redskins Free Agency 2016
I'll miss ol' DY too, but I think they expect their draft picks to step in on special teams.

Re: Redskins Free Agency 2016

Re: Redskins Free Agency 2016
Based on these releases, I think we actually MIGHT have one big signing this year.

If it is Chris Long, boo. Too old. |
Re: Redskins Free Agency 2016
Agreed. That one surprises me a bit.

Re: Redskins Free Agency 2016
Looks like we're moving on from Knighton:
Terrance KnightonVerified account @MisterRoast98 Thank you DMV for embracing me this year. Had a lot of fun on this years playoff run. The Pot Roast train has been told to move on! |
Re: Redskins Free Agency 2016
Not surprising about Hatcher, Knighton and DY. Hatcher was a all around bad signing. Great guy in all but the production vs the salary was never there. Knighton was on a one year "prove it" deal. Obviously SM didn't see enough to want to re-sign him. Jay's offense doesn't use a fullback. None of these are shockers.
I'm wondering if the Jets resigned their nose tackle? If not maybe we're going to make a run at him. Forgot his name... |
Re: Redskins Free Agency 2016
Another good nickname. "Snacks".

I doubt they will pay close to $10 million for anyone Damon Harrison Stats - New York Jets - ESPN |

I don't feel like Long would command a big contract. Lots of injury history recently. |
Re: Redskins Free Agency 2016
I think these defensive cuts pretty much project we will take a DL in the first round.
And yes, I am Captain Obvious. |

Definitely sounds like a one year prove it type of deal. |
Re: Redskins Free Agency 2016
Reportedly Goldson and Roberts will be cut today.
And they are trying to resign Foster |
