Re: Bittersweet post game thread.
Always sucks to lose a tough one but I think we need some perspective. We took the best team in the league down to the wire on the road. I think we’ve got much more to be happy about than not.

Re: Bittersweet post game thread.
Shitting on Doctson makes no sense, he was a tough catch away from being a hero, he probably makes that catch 9 out of 10 times. Plenty of good receivers in this league make similar drops every week.

Re: Bittersweet post game thread.
Things started going downhill after Kelley left the game. We were running the ball and mixing with CT, Perine came in and had 2 bad plays, there went our running game and went to the air. This team does better when the play calling is 50/50. Pryor had some drops including alligator arms on a sure 1st down, dropped others, Reed wasn’t on the same page as Kirk on another, Kirk over threw Grant on another. Need to bench Perine and play Brown.

Re: Bittersweet post game thread.
I don't know about Alex Smith being over the line on that last big pass, but in my opinion, that would have been a non-issue had Doctson held onto that TD pass. Boneheaded penalties and turnovers willl kill a team's chances almost 100% of the time, and last night was no different. But still, if KC turns out to be the best team in the league, then what does that say about the Redskins, who had so many injuries on defense last night, kept shooting themselves in the foot, and still had an opportunity to come out with a win? I think our team has taken the next step.

Re: Bittersweet post game thread.
Overall we played a SB contender on the road to the last 4 secs. You can't be mad at that. Plus all the damn injuries. We'll bounce back in a couple weeks

Breeland isn't coming back folks...this is his last season here.
I stated it before, but we need some growth from Kelly and Perine. But Mack needs a chance to start imo. |

We aren't tied to either one with an unmanageable contract like we would have been with either Garcon or DJax.

Re: Bittersweet post game thread.
The real bitter in this Hershey Special Dark Bar is the lost of Josh, probably out a few weeks with his rib. That sucks!

True but it has been painful watching those two struggle plus it has limited Crowder now that he is being more of the focus of the defense. We have been spoiled at WR for a few years now. Hard to go from a Caddy to a Ford. |
Re: Bittersweet post game thread.
Honestly, on the 3rd and 2, I was really hoping that they would not go deep. I just felt it was too risky and would have preferred something short to complete the first down. Given how banged up the defense was, I wish Jay would have managed the clock better.
I get the instinct of going for the TD, but not on a 3rd down. I still feel that we've lost a lot of games due to missed early opportunities. The way the Defense played in the first half, the offense should have put up more than 10 points. |
Re: Bittersweet post game thread.
Great effort, but how could the defensive game plan not emphasize keeping Smith in the pocket. F#%King bad angles all night long.

How do you horse collar a guy right in front of the ref when it looked like the guy was heading out of bounds? Also the hands to the facemask when we had a stop to get off the field. Just dumb shit you can't have. This is his 5th year and he's still doing rookie shit? To me he's been the worst corner on the team. |

KC put it on Doc and he has to catch that. And I feel Doc makes that play more times than not. Score a td, man up on d and win the game. We ain't quite there yet... |

It's not playing scared, it's playing smart. The Defense was running on fumes. If the offense had manned up in the 2nd quarter and put up some more points, perhaps they wouldn't be in this situation. Losing sucks, but I thin we've taken a big step this season. Let's hope everyone is rested and healthy after the bye. |
