The optics on all this is crazy. Claimed Reuben. Kept Mason. Released DJ..... on Christmas Eve??!?!? [emoji1743]*[emoji3603][emoji1749]*[emoji3603] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Anyone who doesn’t agree with Dale is part of the problem Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Eh, not really Mason made private comments, not a good idea on his part but he didn’t spout off in public over and over like DJ did The Foster situation is just apples and oranges Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: D.J. Swearinger released
DC Sports:
DJ Swearinger went from being arguably the best safety in the NFL earlier this season to being cut on Christmas Eve. It’s too bad when a player legit speaks their mind they’re punished. Good player who played hard and was on a reasonable contract... Tough loss for the #Redskins. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: D.J. Swearinger released
Mason Foster called high schoolers homophobic slurs.
Reuben Foster was accused of decking his ex girlfriend and throwing her phone. DJ Swearinger tells the truth and gets cut. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: D.J. Swearinger released
In what reality can you repeatedly call out your superiors and not face any consequences? It was only a matter of time before this happened.
Just listened to the Redskins Talk pod on this and apparently DJ was told before to knock it off with spouting off in house issues to the media. Every team has issues, you’ve got to keep that shit behind closed doors. Airing dirty laundry just divides the locker room. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: D.J. Swearinger released
Keim fucking nails it. Another solid reason why he's the best beat writer the Redskins have.
Swearinger... well it was surprising, but it makes sense. Not the first outburst he's had, and apparently after previous ones Gruden told him to keep that shit in house. He didn't, obv. lacks respect for leadership, had to go. I would've benched him for next week and released him in the offseason for better optics but that's just me. It only makes us look worse considering the Reuben/Mason Foster fiascos. And finally, fuck Bruce Allen. If he survives this year we need to get the GoFundMe for a mobile billboard started. Also this quote really stands out to me:
"Jonathan Allen had a great game; why wouldn't he say that after a great game? But he doesn't play in coverage and he never knows what's going on in the back end. I'm taking up for my players and guys going out to war with me. ... All the guys in the back end who feel the same about how we play defense. That's all it is."
This is supposed to be a team. The fact that DJ basically said Allen doesn't know what he's talking about is another insight into the shitty culture on this team. I don't mind him talking about Manusky but not Allen. |
Re: D.J. Swearinger released
Allen is the type of leader to build the D around. Not DJ. That much is clear.

Re: D.J. Swearinger released
Fans are being pretty retarded on this. Matty and others have pointed it out. You can't keep publicly criticizing your bosses day in and day out and get away with it. Most jobs you can't get away with doing it ONCE.

The NFL is not most jobs. It's like the 1% of all jobs. With that said, I agree. Multiple outbursts, they warned him previously. Had to go. |
Re: D.J. Swearinger released
DJ will be moving on to his 5th team in 6 seasons. For a guy with his talent that should scream huge red flag.

Re: D.J. Swearinger released
I wonder if Philadelphia and Minnesota lose yesterday, does DJ still get cut if the Redskins were still in the play-off hunt?
