Case isn't the problem. He's played well enough to win both games if the D had only done their job.

I'd give him well enough to win the first game second game was pretty whatever until the final drive. I just don't see the point of him starting. I didn't see it from day 1 but I am not a head coach. |
Re: PREDICT GAME 3 AGAINST “Da Bears”
The main reasons for me, with regard to starting Case, would have been the question marks on the L side of the O line, and his experience in the NFL. Even though the line seems to be doing decent to this point, his experience still wins out, and he just simply gives you a better chance of succeeding.

I remember one of those in our team some years ago. Carlos Rodgers (sp?j. Seems like he might have been all pro if you could only have caught a few of the balls that hit his hands... |
Re: PREDICT GAME 3 AGAINST “Da Bears”
1. Because this is a sunk season.
2. QB play isnt even in the top 10 of things that need to be fixed short term. 3. Left side of O line is new and while they have been better than expected, it still consists of Donald Penn and Erick Flowers. 4. Right side of our O line is regressing. 5. Haskins most likely still is raw in terms of reading disguised blitzes. 6. Haskins is most likely still raw in calling and shifting protections. 7. Haskins is most likely still raw in getting the ball out quickly and "on time". 8. Haskins hangs tough in the pocket but, while a trait you want, maybe not for a rookie QB behind this line. Haskins will start this season and hopefully they are working him in and not just having him the opposing team scout offense. The bye week might be a good time. Ideally for me, after the Bills game week 9 he gets 1st team reps over week 10 bye and starts against the Jets. Week 7 we play the 9ers on 10/20 then play the Vikes on thurs 10/24. I dont want to see the rookie playing the Vikings on short notice and no real install time. Jay will have to partially install the Vikes game plan before the 9ers game ... thats a lot to handle for this team.
Add to that Haskins also needs to improve his footwork and learn how to protect himself better. There is no reason to throw him to the wolves. |
It's a change, but it's not the change we need to make. Getting Manusky out should be first and foremost, with Gruden a very close second.
I'd let Case go the whole season. We're going to end up with a new head coach, and unless that head coach is Kevin O'Connell, there's little value in getting Haskins any experience in this offense. The offense is just going to change on him next season.
So much this. Anybody who doesn't think Gruden is on the fast track to getting fired after this start is crazy. But depending on how the offense looks this year Kevin O'Connell's stock might jump like crazy too, so it's not such a far-fetched idea after all. |

Skins rank 30th in the NFL on Defense lolz
Because good guy gruden.
Wherever Gruden lands after this gig, Colt will be his QB coach and Rob Kelley will be coaching RBs.
And Ryan Grant as the WR coach. |
Is Winstons in PB still around?
They are a Skins sports bar and near Hodads if you are up for a good burger.
Haven't been down to OB in a couple years, but I'd bet its still open. |
Re: PREDICT GAME 3 AGAINST “Da Bears”
Reasons Haskins needs to start against the Dolphins:
1. He is the future and he needs the experience. 2. He’s not learning anything from a mediocre 71.8 QB rating QB. 3. He only played one season in college and he needs to be in there. 4. He will learn five times as much being in there as sitting in the sidelines. 5. We need to evaluate in Haskins is the future. If we waste a year letting Keenum win five games we know nothing about his skill. 6. He probably won’t be as good as Case in his first games, but he may be by the end of the season. 7. If the Giants can do it and the Eagles did it with Wentz, exactly why are we waiting? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: PREDICT GAME 3 AGAINST “Da Bears”
I agree with whoever said keep Haskins on the bench since the head coach is going to change, and so will the offense. No need to rush him out there, get eaten alive, and then possibly injured. Let him sit and learn behind some vets.
Case has done his job. I can't fault him for that. He's been solid IMO. You keep starting him until he can't do the job. If we fall to the Bears, we all know the season is a wash at that point. Just keep going the status quo until we can fire Manusky, Gruden, and Allen. |
Re: PREDICT GAME 3 AGAINST “Da Bears”
im going bears 31- skins 17
i think the bears have a "get right game" Against us (seems to be the trend) Manusky continues to leave the pages on his playbook filed under "blitz" At home Case looks decent, but gets sacked a ton and hurt. Haskins comes in to score a td in garbage time. |
Re: PREDICT GAME 3 AGAINST “Da Bears”
Playing Haskins get him valuable experience against NFL defenses and game speed.
Let him see first hand what Dallas, NY, and Philly are going this year so he can better prepare for next year. If you're worried about injuries, go watch bowling. |
Re: PREDICT GAME 3 AGAINST “Da Bears”
Not playing Haskins is like buying a Lamborghini and then putting it in your living room to look at but never use. Does anyone think that with the normal player turnover with a HC changeover that somehow miraculously the OL issues are just going to disappear? That he won’t ever face a pass rush?
