Re: Bills Post-Game Thread
Performance aside this is where I thought they’d be after three games. Doesn’t matter how bad you lose it counts the same. Thought this was an interesting quote, sounds like the Bills knew exactly what Sam’s tendencies are:
https://twitter.com/john_keim/status/1706059830526365737 Not necessarily pinning this on Sam but he will have to develop defensive reading skills if he is the guy. And of course the o-line needs to play better
The Bills player quoted by Keim also said of Sam "It's just growing pains". He's right. Sam is a virtual rookie so he can't be expected to perform like a seasoned veteran every week. |
So are the preseason polly-annas willing admit that maybe they were incorrect to think our OL had improved? I kept pointing out all summer that our new guys were not any better and maybe worse than our old guys.
You must be very proud of yourself. |
Re: Bills Post-Game Thread
OL isn’t good , Howell is raw and needs more reps clearly but what concerns me is he makes bad decisions (Zach Wilson) type decisions. I hope he comes back this week and plays well because we have no chance if he doesn’t

I guess I'm one of those. lol I still think, as a whole, the unit is better than last year's unit. Unfortunately, that's not saying much. And it's still a bad combination with the QB we currently have, paired with the game plan that was rolled out there this weekend. The Bills just teed off on Sam knowing he holds on to the ball too much. The only way to counter that is to run the ball - effectively. We did that, but not nearly enough. Rushing attempts: 13 Passing attempts: 29 Yards per rush: 8.1 Yards per pass: 3.3 Like MTK/Mooby said - time to burn the tape and move on to Philly. Hopefully, they can make some adjustments to the offensive game plan this week. Otherwise, it will be the same result. Philly is good, but they aren't the Bills. It's a game that can be had. |

It’s the moving on part that scares me. Philly is going to Buffalo us. I have absolutely no faith in our coaching staff at all. |

Started the Bills defense too because of our O-line. |

And yet we managed to punk them last year when they were 8-0 and we were 4-5. It's a week to week league. |

On a different note, it will be good to see how Howell respond after yesterday. Howell said, "the sun will come up tomorrow" so this is a good sign that he is aware that yesterday was just one game and can move on easily. The downside is the opponents now know that their defense plan is to confuse Howell, so Eric and Howell need to have plans to counter that defense plan. |
Re: Bills Post-Game Thread
I’m wondering if having a first year OL coach who is being helped by the TE coach and a rookie QB combo is a bad idea. Way to go Ron.

Re: Bills Post-Game Thread
Ron is a dead man walking.

He looked broken towards the end of the game, I hope he can be fixed. :( |

It's a week to week league.
It is indeed a week to week league. And I do hope this serves as a learning experience for Howell, and a wake up to this coaching staff that they need to help this mediocre squad of an Oline that they put together... It's hard to be feel confident right now though. To tone the panic down though: even if we were to lose to the Eagles we'd be 2-2, with 3 winnable games ahead against the Bears, Falcons and Giants. |

It's a week to week league.
Ironically, we beat the Eagles last year by running the hell out of the ball. Which is what we need to do more. It is right down RIDICULOUS that we ran the ball 5 times in the first half and B.Rob played in 20 snaps in the whole game. EB needs to stop Scott Turnering the offense, and adapt to the personnel/talent he has. Howell needs to stop holding on to the ball. And Gibson needs to sit on the f*cking bench. I know it is hindsight, but I wish EB would have brought in J. McKinnon in the offseason. Also, the next person that believes any of our crappy players are tradeable (to whoever said we should "trade" Gibson) needs to be banned for a month or something. |
