Re: Will you be happy if we go 4-2 in the first 6 games?
Given that we're 3-2. and playing what's got to be one of the 5 worst teams in the league, I'd say I will be despondent if we aren't 4-2.

Re: Will you be happy if we go 4-2 in the first 6 games?
I've been saying since the schedule came out if we can be 4-2 going into 2 divisional games we'll be ok. I'm thinking that we should split with NYG and Philly, beat the Rams and Raiders. That's 8 wins right there.. 2 games somewhere between Arizona, SD and TB or the other 3 divisional games that's 10 wins which should get us into the playoffs..
I Agree somewhat with you I think you're going to beat SF and can beat the Giants if your D put the same presure we did to Eli, Phi lets scrach it as a loss and I agree with the rams and raiders. thats 7 -3 wich is great this is where it gets treaky Arizona win SD loss TB loss and lets say giants win Phi loss and Dal loss ( just because the last game was a win and they'll be fired up) so we are looking to a 9-7 and posible as you said 10 -6 if you split series with phi or beat D'boyz twice |
Re: Will you be happy if we go 4-2 in the first 6 games?
What did you D do to pressure Eli? Blitzes or just pressure from up front? Eli seems very mistake-prone when you get in his face.

Re: Will you be happy if we go 4-2 in the first 6 games?
I'm happy with 3-2, given the way the team has been playing, and 4-2 would be even better!
I figure we need 10 wins to really have a strong shot at the playoffs. Here's what I'm hoping for from our remaining games: 1. SF - MUST WIN if we want to be taken seriously as a playoff team. 1-0 2. SD and Oak at home - These are tough games but we are at home and must take one of them at least. 1-1 3. 5 division games - I think we gotta go at least 3-2 here. Split the Ebills and the Giants, and complete the Dallas sweep at home. 3-2 4. Other 3 games (Stl, Ari, TB) - 3 road games here. Need 2 of these 3. 2-1 According to this plan, the Skins would finish 10-6, 4-2 in the division. Should be good enough for a playoff spot. What do u guys think? Is it feasible? |
Re: Will you be happy if we go 4-2 in the first 6 games?
Your #4 might be tough. Both TB and Stl will be REALLY tough at home.
We'll have to bring our collective A game for those. |
Re: Will you be happy if we go 4-2 in the first 6 games?
Does anyone else feel that the Skins must not only win vs the 49ers, but beat them convincingly? I think the Skins must show they can put away a inferior team and not depend on last minute comebacks, missed KGs, or last drive defensive stands. I think that if the 49ers have the ball with 3-4 mins left in the game and there is still a good chance of a SF win, the Skins won't look like a playoff contender.

Re: Will you be happy if we go 4-2 in the first 6 games?
That's what I would really like to see is us beating the 49ers convincingly. We need a convincing win to feel good about how well we've played in the last two losses. I am truly proud of the team and the effort they have put forth all season long.
It's not always you can gain confidence from loosing football games (because you always want to win) but I have been inspired the last two weeks despite the fact we lost. We will get this win Sunday and go 4-2 which is very good at this point in our schedule and be happy about it. No turn-overs, no penalties and we'll have our most convincing win of the season. I am also happy about the way Brunell is directing the offence. As you all know I have always been one of his most ardent supporters, now I just want him to hold onto the ball. Go Skins!!! We'll get that 4th VICTORY on Sunday. |
Re: Will you be happy if we go 4-2 in the first 6 games?
we could finish 9-7 or 10-6 if we beat SF, then all we have to do is when half of the next 10 and were in the playoffs..........Playoffs????????????

Re: Will you be happy if we go 4-2 in the first 6 games?
Skins need to beat the 49ers convincingly and rack up 3 or 4 turnovers...

What we did was, 1.) Demarcus Ware eating Pettigouts lunch with outside speed rushes. And Greg Ellis eating up RT McKenzie at will. (Do you guys have an edge pass rusher with deceptive size and speed? I mean besides the one you have but isn't allowed to play) 2.) Bring it on ELI!! When we dropped 8 back, he ate us up. When we went blitz and got pressure, the throws were either long, short, or picked off. He will pick you apart in prevent, he is good and he doesn't play like a 12 game starter. Plus He is more athletic than you would think. 3.) It's nice having the ability to change fronts (3/4 - 4/3) but the real luxury is having a guy like LaRoi Glover. The Giants strayed away from the run and that is when Glover will eat up double teams when he doesn't have to worry about getting sucked in and run behind. He had 2 sacks. 4.) We put our fastest DB on Shockey - Terrance Newman - and he shut Big Mouth Shockey down, untill the second half when we left our LB's and Safetys on him. Other than that, get Red zone points. The Giants will let you win the time of possesion battle, but hope to burn you with turnovers. Brunell will be harder to get at in the pocket than Bledsoe. |
Re: Will you be happy if we go 4-2 in the first 6 games?
I wouldn't say I was "thrilled" that the Skins are 4-2. I am very encouraged by their play. The offense has been much better than expected and the defense is playing up to par (despite my favorite player missing in action). The team has to eliminate the costly mistakes, especially if the defense cannot create turnovers. Overall I'm happy. This team has playoff potential. I would like to see less penalties, a rushing touchdown, more pressure on the quarterback and more turnovers....more Levar Arrington.

Re: Will you be happy if we go 4-2 in the first 6 games?
I believe that the game with the 49ers this week will tell us all something very important about the 2005 Washington Redskins.
The Redskins have significantly better talent than the 49ers - - everywhere that matters. I don't care if the 49ers had a month off to prepare for this game, the physical football talent gap between them and the Skins is still huge. This week will give us a look at what kind of "killer instinct" this team has as a whole. This is a team the Skins should be able to knock down and step on their throats and not ever let up. This is the first team this year where the Skins have such an obvious physical advantage. It will be interesting to see if they absolutely dominate the 49ers - - or if they let them hang around and make some kind of game of it into the late 3rd quarter. The line on the game opened with the Skins as a 11.5 point favorite and it jumped to 12 points in about an hour and is now at 12.5 points in most places and as high as 13 points in two of the offshore sports books. I honestly believe that the Skins can name the score on Sunday and ought to win by 3 TDs or more. |
Re: Will you be happy if we go 4-2 in the first 6 games?
ugh... they should lay the wood. but last year, our boys gave me a heart attack in the bay giving something like 5.5!
alas, 12.5 sounds good enough... |
Re: Will you be happy if we go 4-2 in the first 6 games?
