And you watched this year an approve at how well the team has been coached? With the no offense (Gibbs is an offensive god), penalities, miscues, and lack of game prep, this looks like the Norv Turner teams. Gibbs and his staff have been out coached during 7 games this season. What do you think ,Gibbs can wave his 3 Super Bowl rings at the opposing coaches and they will bow down because of his resume from the 80's? It's not just players play, the coaches are not coaching. Oh.... If changing the coaching staff is so wrong, why did Gibbs add Al Saunders this year? Apperently, not such a great move by Gibbs, would you agree?
Gibbs has done everything that alot of you guys said we needed: You guys last year stated that we needed an offensive coordinator....so Gibbs goes out and gets Al Saunders. We all said we needed to get more WRs...so Gibbs goes out and gets ARE and BL. We said we needed a good short yardage guy, so we get TJ Duckett. Alot of guys said we needed to get Jason Campbell in, so we're starting Jason Campbell this weekend. You're missing the whole reason why Gibbs came back at all. He came back to rebuild this team. That doesn't happen over night, and sometimes it won't happen in two seasons. I wasn't expecting us to make it to the playoffs last year, but we did. Gibbs did say that he wanted to get a group of guys that he thought he could win with now, but his major goal is to rebuild this franchise so that it's a winning franchise for years to come. I don't care if it takes him 5 or 6 years to do so....I'd rather be patient than to go back to the same coaching carousel that fans like you seem to be content in riding. |

Maybe not, but will the team bother bringing him back when we are totally out of the playoff chase? I don't see any point in that. |

One minute we are totally out, the next minute we still have a chance?? What is it?? We all know the truth. Now that MB is benched, we are totally out AND have no chance. .... :( |

Oh... Hi Matty. What's up? |
Re: CP broken hand
Gibbs needs to put Portis on IR ASAP and forget about this stupid loyalty BS he has with his starters. Gibbs stated last night that he “was worried about hurting Brunell's feelings by sitting him down”. When does Gibbs stop worrying about individuals feelings and start worrying about fielding a winning team this week.

 Did I ask some really hard question? |
Re: CP broken hand
Gibbs is a good coeach because he cares about his players, which in turn makes them want to win for themselves and for HIM. Caring about the players is what builds a solid team that doesn't give up....

We all know the truth. Now that MB is benched, we are totally out AND have no chance. .... :(
We have a better chance now Brunell has been sat. If it had happened before the Cow-Whores game we'd be looking at a different team right now. I'm surprised at you, Little Ms. Sunshine, giving up on the team. |
Yeah they really need to get things worked out. It really makes me wonder if Saunders will be back next year. Just my gut feeling.
he's got 40000 excuses and no answers. i was ready to ditch him after preseason with how he was trashing his own team's players in the media. ince then the offense has been terrible too, which hasn't helped his cause - even though its not just his fault. |

We all know the truth. Now that MB is benched, we are totally out AND have no chance. .... :(
that implies that continuing to start MB would have kept us in or given us a chance. At 3-6, i'd contest the validity of that kind of thinking. |

i don't, but when i see reasoning i don't understand, i question it. if you have any logic or reason behind why you think brunell, with his ineptness and his mighty 3-6 record, would keep us in contention with this defense, i'd sure as hell like to hear why, instead of yet another attempt to sidestep the issue. |

Some people have "noticed" an improvement from the defense in the last two games. I personally haven't seen it, but if there truly was an improvement, then it was a really was a bad time to bench MB.
At this point, I don't think the D is going to get it turned around anytime soon (that includes next season), so now is as good a time as ever to play Campbell, I guess. |

Re: CP broken hand
The defense improved slightly in the last two games, no one has shutdown mcnabb, and brunell was responsible for that one TD. Andre Carter is looking much better out there as well. The big problem is carlos rogers and the DTs, that's where teams throw and run every time. They all have us scouted.

Re: CP broken hand
Bam.
Speaks for itself yet again.
Scout's honor, Brunell has issues More than one scout I've talked to believes the Washington Redskins are in trouble, largely because they don't like what they're seeing from quarterback Mark Brunell. It's not only that he's not completing passes; it's that he's so nervous in the pocket he's not giving plays a chance to unfold. The results are plain to see: Washington has one offensive touchdown in two losses. "This is not the Kansas City Chiefs' offense," said one NFC scout. "It looks more like (offensive coordinator) Al Saunders running Joe Gibbs' offense. I just finished watching them and the thing that stood out to me is that Brunell's not stepping forward when he throws. Everything is off his back foot, like he's nervous. "He always was good at feeling the pressure, but now he's bailing out of the pocket early. It's almost as if he can't wait to get out of there." The problem for Washington is that it staked its offense to Brunell. Second-year pro Jason Campbell is the quarterback the Redskins drafted as his successor, but there's no reason to believe he's ready to step in and take over. Plus, Gibbs is reluctant to play inexperienced players, particularly at the quarterback position. Bottom line: If Washington is going to make a run at the playoffs again it better find a way -- and fast -- of making Brunell relax in the pocket. Bam Bam! Speaks! for itself |
