Let me take this slow for you Redskin fans. One of the weakest teams in the AFC (Miami)....played at the home of the BEST team in the NFC (Chicago)....and had an easy time! The Redskins are an average NFC team at best. The best football is played in the AFC. AFC Team vs NFC Team. That doesnt mean anything though. You know how Miami is.. They show up and beat the best teams and lose to the lesser teams.

The better football is played in the AFC, but not by the Dolphins. You don't get credit for what the Colts do. If the Dolphins show up with a team that is as weak as your argument, God help them.

Now back to the side alleys of South Beach with you...

:laughing2 Hahahaha... That's the best football logic I've ever heard! It's even better than this gem from Balki Bartokomous:

Bills over the Chargers because even though you can charge and charge, sooner or later, you'll have to pay the bill.

Even though I predicted a Redskins win, anything can happen. Ask Michigan. Anyways, I just PMed Matty and asked him to a Signature bet. The loser has to wear the other team's signature that is created for him at both sites until next Sunday's game. Don't be surprised to see Matty wearing a Dolphins signature ... maybe one of Csonka running over a pile of Redskins;)

My Prediction:
Skins 17, Fins 6.
Offene struggles to get it together a bit, but D is awesome, holding them to two FG's, AND scoring a Defensive touchdown.

Also: Sean Taylor will allow at least one big play or penalty.

Just my opinion, but you know what they say about opinions....
Skins 31 Dolphins 10. This will be the easiest game on the schedule after the deuce with the Gmen. In preseason, our first string O was nice and fluid, and the Dolphins D is not top 10 in my opinion. Our first D is better than the Dolphins D and will shut down the struggling Miami O. If this game is close like most of the above posters predict it is going to be a mediocre season. Skins should win by at least 14 points if they are that improved over last season. Dolphins are weak.

Dolphins D is not top 10 in my opinion. Our first D is better than the Dolphins D
Are you friggin' kidding??? Your D is better than Miami's??? Dude, put down the chronic and get real... Say your Offense is better, your Special teams is better, or anything else... But please tell me you don't believe that...

On what planet does anyone ring up the Dolphins defense for 31 points???

I keep reading these "defensive battle" posts and it's laughable... The Redskins D was in the bottom half of the league last season with no reason to suspect it will be a lot better... Our front 7 is arguably one of, if not THE, best in the league...

Here's to a good game (a Dolphins Victory) and no injuries on either side...

We have good reason to expect our D to bounce back strong. The additions of Fletcher and Landry fill gaping holes from last year, and guys that were banged up along the defensive line are now healthy and our two rookie DTs from last year have a year under their belts.

If you're underestimating the Skins D you'll be very sorry come Sunday.

Since you don't actively follow the Redskins, I'll let this slide. Our defense was number three in 2004 and somewhere in the top ten the next year (I forget where we ranked). In 2006 we had a NUMBER of defensive starters go down with injury. Shawn Springs was arguably the best coverage player the Skins have on defense. He's back fully healthy, with a better safety duo than the Skins have had since that 2004 season as well as better LB play including Fletcher and McIntosh.

If you look a player or two down on the list of "tackle leaders" you'll see that Fletcher is on there too.

Again, why won't this be a defensive battle?

Re: Redskins vs. Dolphins predictions

I see issues for the Phins. Their O-line wasn't great last year (allowing 41 sacks), and they didn't make any measurable changes to their personnel. Despite the fact that the O-line coach has the coolest name in the NFL (Hudson Houck), you can't polish a turd.
I also think Cam Cameron is going to seem a lot less smart when he downgrades from Rivers, Tomlinson, and Gates to Green, Brown, and Martin.
The defense made a major acquisition in Joey Porter, but most observers agree that they overpaid for a declining talent. The fact that Porter has been recovering from a knee surgery when the Dolphins physical didn't detect a bad knee should be something of a red flag.
Miami may turn out to be a good team. I expect we'll know around week 6, but they're going to get punched in the mouth on Sunday.

Washington 27
Miami 10

And so is ours. Thats how we found this site. We go to other teams sites all the time.. And they come to ours. It is really a good way to tell what kind of fans a team has. And I will say this.. I may dislike the Skins and they may not be alot of things.. But skins fans are die hard! Gotta love that!
We welcome any fans from any teams as long as they're rational and have a point.

Personally, I love the smack talking before a match up, and I think it adds to the excitement of the game. This is what the NFL is about. Don't feel bullied, but expect fire and brimstone if you don't back up your opinion with facts. That's just how we roll.

However, its safe to say that if the Dolphins "offense" is planning on coming into our house and just having their way with us, they really have another thing coming.

Last year, teams could throw anywhere on the field against us and have great success. This year you have to gameplan the Skins very differently. If teams want to have success against us, they will have to attack the middle of the field with the running game, and use their running back well in the passing game. Miami has the personel to do this, but if it takes them a while to get going offensively, they may be chasing 14 very quickly.

The Dolphins D, which has been so good for so long, I think is going to struggle mightily against the pass this year. Campbell jumps right out and throws two first half TDs, and then the Skins D bends as the Dolphins play catch up (with some success), but it never really materalizes.

20-16 Redskins.

Have to agree with you about our front 7. With names like Jason Taylor, Keith Traylor, Zach Thomas,Vonnie Holliday, Joey Porter, and the two up and coming youngsters Channing Crowder and Matt Roth.

Btw.. The last team to score over 30 points on us was Green Bay.. Last year. They were the only team to score that many on us last year.. I also suspect our D will be even better this year with the infusion of youth and skill in Matt Roth and Crowder coming into his 3rd year looking for another 100+ tackle year. Not to mention the addition of Joey Porter. Plus this is the 3rd year in the system in which the majority of the guys have been in for those 3 years. Now is when everything completely comes together. I will go out on a limb and say Miami will finish with a top 3 D this year.

LMAO thats great!

We should be able to run the ball if Sean decides to keep the mucus distribution down to a minimal. He seems to like to spit in the face of the opposing players or has been know too hasnt he lol.

J/K guys

If he gives up any pass play that will be the difference in the game,
Again we really havent gotten to see what our offense is truely capable or not capable of.

We do know that we have been in La La land for a few years and have managed to win games with the few core players we have and a vanilla Offense, so this is where our hopes are up for scoring points.
We know our recievers are more capable than what the are known for and sadly Trent Green is a hopeful upgrade or at least a better leader than we are use to having.

IMO our O-Line wont be wonderful but they should be able to hold their own, again until the blitzing starts.

Your Secondary will definitely be our biggest concern.

I really hope Sean Taylor doesnt spit on Ronnie B..

Re: Redskins vs. Dolphins predictions

16-14 redskins win a close, tough battle. One of miami's TD's will come from yet another TD given to the defense from our offense, but, but it is the offense that plays some crazy ball control in the 4th Q to get two nice Suisham FG's to cap off nice drives.

Campbell 15-28, 230 yards 1 TD 1 INT
CP - 20 carries 75 yards
LB - 10 carries for 40 yards

Laron gets a pick, K-Goldston gets a sack, London gets 12 solo tackles, Rocky gets a pick

Mr.Anderson 09-04-2007 04:07 PM

Miami Gave up 21 of those sacks in the first 3 weeks last year behind Dante DR.Pepper, he isnt here anymore. they did much better not having to block for three minutes while Dr Pepper tried to find his targets.

I feel like the Redskins D is gonna come out with a huge chip on their shoulders. The passing and running game are gonna be shut down. The offense looked fluid in the game against J- ville. Granted, it was the preseason, but I just felt like it was a sign of things to come. I think the Dolphins D is going to have a hard time stopping the play action, and S. Moss is gonna burn up the secondary.

Our coach felt like because our O line was so terrible last year that Ronnie Brown needed to be motivated by doing kick returns??? Yeah.. I don't know whats up with that.. And furthermore.. I don't think that Ronnie needs any motivation. He has been working hard all camp.. He always works hard.. Last year we had no line AND Mularkey thought it was fun to throw it with Joey Harrington 60 times a game.

I cant say that I agree with your score. Not that I am guarenteeing a win, but I am guarenteeing that it will be a low scoring game. Both of our offenses are going to struggle against each others defenses. I'm predicting a low scoring 10-13 game.

I gotta tellya, Mike, this team and last year's are almost like apples and oranges, in my opinion.

If we don't come out and hit these guys in the mouth, then between the eyes for four straight quarters, I have a feeling morale could plummet prematurely.

He is kinda because our line stunk or Mularky under used him.
The guy really is good when he gets into rythm but he doesnt get that chance very often.
Jesse Chatman did a few things in the preseason and people are calling for Ronnies head now, some of us feel like it was a motivator for Ronnie to hit the hole quicker, he likes to act like a finesse runner when he isnt he is a bull dog that needs to make a hole if there isnt one.

I think he is a great running back and gets to reunite with Cambell Sunday since they were on that undefeated Auburn Team together.

I agree if this is a loss then morale will plumet within the organization and outside. I hoping the 2nd yr in this offense is the biggest variable that seperates this team from last years, but only time will tell.
