Re: Peter King says Browns and Skins discuss pick swap
Funny they say he does not have great physical size, but he is like 6-2, 227lbs.
That's really not "prototypical" QB size these days. Not saying he's small or anything, but he's right on that line of what teams consider undersized. |
Re: Peter King says Browns and Skins discuss pick swap
That's rediculous...everyone that has been saying that Campbell is better than Cuttler cannot really beleive that. Are you blind? People can play the numbers game all day and compare Ws and Ls but at the end of the day "You gotta be as blind as Anne Frank not to see that" Cutler has passed Campbell by leaps and bounds as far as their development. Since everyone likes playing with numbers compare TDs/game between the two...I haven't even done the research, I just know that should be one number that Cutler has alot more than Campbell...Cutler didn't loose all those games by himself, just as Campbell didn't go 2-6 all by himself...I just don't want to hear another person bring up the W-L stat again, that by far is a TEAM stat.
I think what is ridiculous is that there are still people like you singing the praises of a whiney ass player like Cutler who hasn't proven a damn thing. As for being blind, where did you see me say Campbell was better than Cutler? I said I'd rather have Campbell than Cutler and I stand by that. T.O. has talent too but I don't want him on our team. Put your glasses on and learn how to spell. |
Re: Peter King says Browns and Skins discuss pick swap
Sanchez is a smoke screen, they really want Monroe at 5th. I say go get him. Take LB and depth at DE in the 5th and 7th rounds. Trade your 13th, 3rd round, and 6th round to get the 5th overall. 2010 is looking like an uncapped year with all our picks still available. Plug the gaps at DE (since our DE are one year contracts, and fill any other gaps in 2010. Remember, our Defense was 4th overall in the entire NFL last year, but we finished with a mediocre record. Our Offense didn't have what it needed (talent wise) to maintain down the stretch.
where have you heard they want Monroe? |

"Funny they say he does not have great physical size, but he is like 6-2, 227lbs."
Actually everyones wrong here. Sanchez apparently is a good 6'2. I think scouts though just like his bulk. Height-Weight-Speed -2 - Adequate height with a strong build. When healthy, he displays good speed and agility for the position. (1 being the best 5 being the worst) |
Re: Peter King says Browns and Skins discuss pick swap
I'd rather they kept Campbell, accepted that he's not a superstar QB, but a really good one that they can win with if they build pieces around him (namely, in front of him).
But they appear not to be committed to keeping him long term. So if you're going to let him go then get something out of it. And if you're going to commit so heavily to another project essentially, then go balls to the wall and truly commit. If you think he's the next Matt Ryan, then play him like the Falcons played Ryan.
Can you comment on what's going on with the FO? I mean what's Snyder's deal this offseason? What owner goes to college workouts other than maybe Jerry Jones? Is he just hiding behind Cerrato and really playing GM? |
Re: Peter King says Browns and Skins discuss pick swap
Its all propoganda people. We're showing interest in Sanchez so the Jets will want to trade up, guaranteeing that someone high on our draft board (ie Orakpo, Orakpo, or Orakpo) will fall to us.

I believe more owners attend workouts than you'd think. I don't exactly know what's going on. I hear a lot of Zorn and Snyder want/think/believe. Not as much about Cerrato. And nothing at all from Campbell (Scott Campbell) which is not that surprising considering he's the behind the scenes guy. |
Re: Peter King says Browns and Skins discuss pick swap
Yeah I don't see what's wrong with an owner attending workouts, I would think that is pretty common.

Re: Peter King says Browns and Skins discuss pick swap
What if this is a smoke screen and we are trading up to ensure we get one of the top lone men.
If we do this to address a real need by selecting Orakpo or the best OT available, then I'm fine with that. We are fine at QB - Campbell is a decent starter and we have quality backups, why can't Snyderatto see that???

Protect the QB! JC may become Ryp II.......

Re: Peter King says Browns and Skins discuss pick swap
QB Cutler, Jay ACT TDS 25 INT 18 YDS 4,526 RTG 86.0 CHI
QB 17 Campbell, Jason ACT TDS 13 INT 6 YDS 3,245 RTG 84.3 WAS Yes, I agree lets not just look at W/L's. Lets look at real stats. Cutler had twice as many TD's with his 25 compared to JC with his 13 but Cutler threw 3 times as many INT at 18 compared to JC's 6. So what if Cutler threw for 1,200 more yards. Cutler is only 1.7 points ahead in his QB rating. Not much if you ask me. I didn't even get into that I heard JC ran for more yrds then Cutler. Who cares they are close in talent. If we are going after a better QB lets actually get a better QB not one with similar traits and stats. |
Re: Peter King says Browns and Skins discuss pick swap
The sad part in all of this is I have come to dislike Sanchez and it is not the guy's fault that Danny and Vinny just aren't getting it! I am preparing for the Skins to screw up yet another draft and take Sanchez just because Danny and Vinny are getting hard ons when they think of drafting a QB from USC.

Re: Peter King says Browns and Skins discuss pick swap
Love to see the Skins take a play out of the Pats' draft day strategy and hold on to their picks. Sort of scary to think they have 11 this year. This is a team if they draft right and stay healthy will be in the thick of things after the regular season.

Re: Peter King says Browns and Skins discuss pick swap
In a way, Danny's love of Sanchez is like looking forward to payday. I've spent mine at least six different ways before it gets here. The sad part is since I retired, payday comes less often!

Re: Peter King says Browns and Skins discuss pick swap
If we do swap picks with Cleveland it better be to get Monroe or Andre smith or oher or orakpo I hope this sanchez thing is something we can look back at later and say "man dan really fooled us thinking he would take him...haha he got me"
