I agree. I don't see it happening - I think Zorn will want Collins' experience at #2 - but, yeah, if Colt does beat out Todd, Todd is gone. |

Colt came to me in a religious vision. He was wearing a halo, radiating powerful sacred golden light, and wearing the Lombardi trophy as neck bling. He stretched out his hand and I was healed! Halleluia! |

Re: Predict the 2009 Opening Day Roster
I would love to see JC, CB, and Daniels. Let the old man go. but will it happen...no. I think Zorn will want TC for his experience even though it has not been in the WCO.
I like Colt a lot but I think that Zorn is trying to change his throwing motion which I think is a mistake. Depending on how Colt does depends on whether he stays or gets let go. If he can change his motion and keep his abilities then he stays if he won't change his throwing motion or loses his accuracy trying to change then he's gone. Atlanta couldn't change Favre so they traded him. GB allowed Favre to simply play and he did pretty good. They should just let Colt play and not try to change him. Just my oppinion. I think Daniels has the motion Zorn is looking for and release but wants to speed it up. If Daniels has a hard time learning the play calls quickly he's gone. I always love the youth movement but they seem to get cut every yr. Hopefully the WR's step up and make it hard for the team to decide. As much as I want to love ARE I could let him go also. So long as whoever takes his spot is actually contributing on offense. In other words making more catches and more then 2 TD's for the yr. |

I know the cap figure isn't right for it. I do like ARE & I think he can make plays out of the slot. Hopefully that will be his role. He should retire from punt returning. |

1. Albright - ESPN came out with a stat last year about the amount of revolutions a football should spin before it gets to the punter. It so happen that Albright was rated last in the league at this. ESPN attributed much of our punting problems on this aspect of his game. They said his ball was significiantly slower then other L Snappers. Do I think he is a good blocker yes! 2. What I meant by experience at DE was that I don't thiink we can only have Buzbee and Jarmon there as back-ups. I'd like to see us have Jarmon with Wynn a proven veteran back-up and get Rob ready. Makes sense now? 3. Kelly hasn't proven anything yet. Yes, thus far in the off season he has shown that he can run routes without the knee swelling. However, I want to see him last an entire 16 games before I declare him healthy enough. The wear and tear of an NFL season is much more difficult then just an off season. As a fan, you have to agree that we were limited last year at WR with only Moss, ARE, Thrash, and Thomas. I'd definitely go 6 deep this year to prevent this from happening again because Kelly hasn't proven fully healthy this year. Thomas has proven he is consistantly going to perform, and Mitchell is a rookie. |
Re: Predict the 2009 Opening Day Roster
Westbrook, because he was an undrafted rookie we signed from a smaller school. Tryon has all the hype around as a top round draft pick. Basically, do I want both to perform of course. However, it would be great to see Westbrook go from nothing to something. I'd love to see Tryon come and battle hard for a spot and beat out Smoot. Smoot's skills are slowing decreasing and he isn't getting any younger. Having Rogers, Hall, Barnes, Westbrook, and Smoot as our corners for the next 5-10 years would be amazing!

Can we get stats on how many rotations a qbs ball has on a 5yard out too. I mean that would be cool. I am picturing Madden with a telestrator (or whatever they are called) following the ball from EA's hand to the punter. See how the laces don't revolve until here, a good snap has to have those laces back up earlier. That must be why EA was Maddens Mr. Irrelevant. |

Ummm....were you referring to this? http://www.thewarpath.net/512403-post1.html
The arch on his snaps is 1.65 degrees lower than 2007 and an astonishing 2.94 degrees lower than 2006. On top of that on field goal attempts of more than 30 yards, he averages only 12 full rotations of the football by the time it gets to the holder. That's in the bottom third of the league!
I made that up you know. If ESPN has come up with any such stat...I haven't seen it |

Re: Predict the 2009 Opening Day Roster
Ha ha ha. That's too funny!!
The only difference I want to see on the roster is having Jaison Williams vice Roydell Williams, if Malcolm Kelly is healthy. We have a red zone scoring problem and I have no doubt that with Moss, Portis, Cooley, Davis, Kelly, Thomas, Williams, Mitchell and Sellars we should be able to score. The offensive line will be fine this year going against our top 5 defense everyday (allstar defensive line) during practice. |

Re: Predict the 2009 Opening Day Roster
There are some battles to make the 53 man roster and I think most people would agree with what they are with only a few differences. I was wondering who everybody wants to make the team or who you expect to make the team?
I think the battles are ... Cartwright vs. Dorsey vs. Alridge vs. Mason Hackett vs. Mitchell vs. Hagans vs. Eloi Jackson vs. Wynn W Montgomery vs. Edwin Williams Yoder vs. Eddie Williams C Wilson vs. R Thomas vs. Henson vs. Glenn (1 or 2 of these guys) I'd pick Cartwright, Hackett, Jackson, Montgomery, Yoder, Wilson, and Thomas. |

You're right and wrong. I listed FB twice so technically I listed 53 different names but at the same time I wrote down 55 names. Anyway I fixed it. I should have known that even I wasn't dumb enough to forget FB, but I thought I did so thats why I listed it twice. |

honestly you could dump wynn too if you wanted, there are just a lot of easily replaceable guys on the skins depth charts right now. I mean, right now, I doubt our #4 RB (if we keep one) or devin thomas make a huge impact this year, so those might be worthless roster spots too. everyone else (except maybe chase) is fairly important. |

You really think Anthony Montgomery is getting cut? You think we're going to keep 5 safeties and only 4 CBs? Only 3 defensive tackles? I notice you don't have either of our rookie LBs making the team. I don't disagree, it's just a shame that those picks turned into a waste. On the flip side, I love Marko Mitchell. I personally think it will be funny to see the reactions if Colt is cut. |
