It's showing our lack of veteran defensivemen. Nearly every year we talk about picking someone up, but choose not to mess with the roster it seems. While it's building us for contention, we could certainly use someone in that role. And wow, we weren't getting any shots in at all, that has to change.
I agree although thank goodness the Caps did not bit on the trades that were being contemplated late this season. Of the highly desired veteran defenseman available including Chris Pronger and Florida's Jay Bouwmeester it was going to cost the Capital prospects Karl Alzner, Simeon Valarmov and John Carlson - and we know how important Varly is. |

Re: NHL: Round Two, CAPS vs. pens

This has been an OUTSTANDING series. What will make this a 'DREAM GAME' is The CAPS playing 60 MINUTES in front of the home crowd and WINNING this series. Plain and simple! Elevating the CAPS to the next level....and playing for the East Championship! Doesn't get any better than that, except sporting LORD STANLEY AROUND THE BOOTH, then into the streets of DC!
GREAT game needed by all for once in the series, to get this VICTORY! A total team effort needed. And stay out of the sin bin! I like our chances to put together a total effort in this game 7 and keep on rolling! Lets GO CAPITALS! ROCK THAT RED all over those birds and advance! I'm friggin nervous
You think so? I think we look awful. For some reason we're determined to look like shit every first period. We love to dig a hole early. |

Re: NHL: Round Two, CAPS vs. pens

When I wrote it I thought we did.
Now we appear to be in shambles. |
When I wrote it I thought we did.
Now we appear to be in shambles.
Seriously. Out shot 17-5 in the first period. 1 shot in the final 15 minutes. 2 stupid penalties. I hate to say it, but we're getting beat by a better team. I don't care what playoff seeding and regular season records say. I'm watching it with my own two eyes. And it sucks. We need a huge turn around or we're done. |

Re: NHL: Round Two, CAPS vs. pens

 We're finished. 3-0. It's over. I hate my life.
 |

Re: NHL: Round Two, CAPS vs. pens

Make it 4-0. Pathetic showing all around.
Way to show up guys. |

Re: NHL: Round Two, CAPS vs. pens

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand my tv is off. pizza just arrived. i've thrown every object within reach. i'm just going to enjoy my pizza... play some rage against the machine. and get ready for next year.

Re: NHL: Round Two, CAPS vs. pens

5-0. And I'm changing the channel. 8 minutes left in the 2nd and we have 9 shots on goal. What a joke. Shit.

Re: NHL: Round Two, CAPS vs. pens

 YEAAHHH WE GOT 1
comon lets rally baby! i always say i give up and turn off the tv... but i can never look away. |

comon lets rally baby! i always say i give up and turn off the tv... but i can never look away.
I really did change the channel. It's misery to watch. It's Lost Season Finale night. So I will have a few Stella Artois and enjoy that. What a bummer. I was thinking about that game non-stop all day today. |

Re: NHL: Round Two, CAPS vs. pens

Awful, just awful! I guess save the very worst for last....How, Why can you not get up for a GAME 7 AT HOME?
The CAPS were ill prepared or for that matter haven't even shown up. What a huge disappointment! I hope this is a HUGE learning lesson for next season! We have had a GREAT season, don't have to many chances in a game 7 at home to finish, you HAVE to get it done! Go CAPS.....I mean REDSKINS!!!!! Hockey's over for 2009.....I don't foresee any Miracles on ice, unfortunately. |

Re: NHL: Round Two, CAPS vs. pens

Sorry about the Caps guy's. I was pulling for them. I hope my Ducks can have better luck against Detroit in game 7 tomorrow night.

Re: NHL: Round Two, CAPS vs. pens

I am sick to my stomach. I hate the Penguins like I hate the Cowboys...I am thoroughly disgusted with this "give up" showing. Why did they even bother putting on skates tonight. God dammitt I hate pittsburgh.

Re: NHL: Round Two, CAPS vs. pens

 I'm not sick at all....
Great season. We've got this town behind this team... I'm really excited for the future of the caps.. and I'm not bitter in the least. Great series... terrible game. What are you gunna do? Wish the worst of the luck to the Pens... Sidney is a little bitch. C-A-P-S CAPS CAPS CAPS |

Re: NHL: Round Two, CAPS vs. pens

That was just sad. Shades of the Caps of the '80s/early '90s...completely tanking in a Game 7

Bad game for sure, the worst of the playoffs for the CAPS. But, a lot to build on, the overall work of this season will be the building blocks for the future of this young club. They WILL learn how to finish! And FYI read the injury report and how many injured players were out there for the CAPS trying to play through some pretty tough stuff. Yes NO LORD STANLEY...But we will learn and continue to grow from this experience. A few more players and we are right there EVERY YEAR! Re: NHL: Round Two, CAPS vs. pens

It just sucks especially to lose to the Penguins again (it's like the Wizards and Cavs)...and all this had to happen on the same day Ryan Zimmerman's consecutive games (30) with a hit came to an end.

That's exactly what I said to my girlfriend during the 2nd period. The difference is, I think the Caps have a chance to overtake the Pens in the next season or two. The Wiz have no shot of outplaying the Cavaliers as long as Lebron is playing for them. |

That f'ing jersey was undefeated in the playoffs for me, but now I might have to burn it.

Re: NHL: Round Two, CAPS vs. pens

Hopefully my Bruins can win tonight. I was really exicited about a Caps/ Bruins series, my office was big into the Caps this year and the Caps have had Boston's # all season.
If the Bruins get to the next round maybe they can smash Crosby and Co. out the playoffs. |

Re: NHL: Round Two, CAPS vs. pens

Great win by the hometowners. Hopefully we see Carolina. *crosses fingers*

I should have known it was you AMD! You no good SOB! Thanks for ruining it for all the rest of us REAL CAP FANS! lol If you would like I will be glad to burn it for you, please just send it to me via USPS, PRIORITY! I'll take care of the problem.......;) |

Re: NHL: Round Two, CAPS vs. pens

Man I can't believe they didn't show up in a friggin game 7 against the Pens yesterday. I was so upset. They got their asses handed to them plain and simple.
I mean yeah there was a lot to build on this season but the Caps should be in win now mode, not "we made a building block for the future, it was a positive season to build on" mode. |
