Re: What do you expect in our Week 5, Skins vs. Panthers matchup
If Carolina does what they should do which is give the ball to Williams 25 times or so, then they will get the win easily. Williams is one of the best RB's in the league. Because he is in Charlotte, they dont get the national hype as some of the other guys, but he is pretty damn good. They have imo the best young RB tandem in the NFL, with him and Stewart. Look, the Panthers can be a very good team if they do what they do best. For what ever reason they haven't been running the ball and playaction off of it. I look for them to get back to that this week, since we really haven't been able to stop anyone from running the ball against us (even after giving some fat ass 100million) IF they run the ball effectively, then Steve Smith will have a good game burning Carlos or Hall, who ever they have on him. Now mark my words and I MEAN MARK EM!!! IF BLACHE DOES NOT SEND PRESSURE ALL DAY LONG THEN JAKE WILL PICK US APART. JAKE HAS HAD AN AWFUL SEASON THUS FAR AND THAT IS BECAUSE HE HAS BEEN BLITZED ALL DAY EVERY DAY. EVERY DEFENSIVE COOR. KNOWS THIS AND HAS SENT BLITZES PROBABLY OVER 60% OF THE TIME. HE GETS JUMPY IN THE POCKET AND WILL THROW A COUPLE PICKS AND IS LIKELY TO FUMBLE ONE DURING THE GAME AS WELL. IF BLACHE SITS BACK AND SENDS 4 ALL GAME I SWEAR TO CHRIST HE HAS TO FREAKING GO!!

Skins 24
Panthers 13 Yeah, I'm one of the few here who actually root for my team to win. |
Re: What do you expect in our Week 5, Skins vs. Panthers matchup
I had the most bizarre dream that I had a bunch of friends over to watch....Frasier. And then at some point I was like, hey let's flip the game on and see what's happening. And we were winning 90-71, but we were playing in a dome against the Broncos, but the one play I actually saw in my dream was us going for it on 4th down in the red zone (again, with a 90-71 lead) and Colt Brennan throwing it out of the back of the end zone.
Gotta layoff the rum just before bed I guess |

I expect we will all see Redskin football.

Re: What do you expect in our Week 5, Skins vs. Panthers matchup
I do NOT expect the Redskins to win this game. The Panthers have been very, very bad this year, but coming off of a bye, they will probably play at a level closer to last year's team than what they have looked like in the past three weeks.
But I think if the Redskins can win, they'll have taken a step towards being a playoff team. I estimate that the Redskins have a 35% chance of victory, but if they win, and especially if they do it in convincing fashion, they will be in good position. From what I've seen, they probably will not win. I hope I'm wrong. |

Re: What do you expect in our Week 5, Skins vs. Panthers matchup
Based on the Skins performace so far, everything that has gone on at Redskins Park this week, and Caronlina needing a win, I wouldn't be suprised if Skins get blown out on Sunday.

WE can beat the Cowboys, but not the Gmen or the Eagles. The Saints will smoke us, and ATL will win in the dome. Sand Diego is a toss up. KC and Oakland should be easy wins. IF things hold steady it will be: New York taking the East New Orleans taking the South Arizona taking the West Minnesota taking the North Eagles wildcard Bears, Packers, or ATL the other wildcard Sure a lot of stuff can happen between now and January, but unless we are helped by divine intervention, we won't make the playoffs in '09. |

I'm sure Lions fans root for their team to win week after week but know that they probably won't. I don't get why people who see flaws in their team are somehow less of a fan than people who are blind homers. Maybe it's just me, but I see there's an obvious line growing and there shouldn't be. |

Too many folks call other fans haters if they don't see a win coming our way on Sunday or don't like an aspect of how the team is playing. A fan should stay hopeful/positive for sure, but there are times when you know you are porbably going to bite the dust. My brother in law is a die hard Lions fan, always will root for them even if he thinks they will lose. I hope the Skins beat Carolina and somehow turn it around, but recent history has shattered those hopes time and time again. Just can't see us making the playoffs playing as poorly as we are now. |

Re: What do you expect in our Week 5, Skins vs. Panthers matchup
jake delhomme throws the ball wild which should be good for our secondary to come together and get some picks. They are desperate for a win but think we are push overs and easy victory. Everything that has happened with this week with the arguing and the hiring has probably made this team a little on edge, ready to put a stop to all this talk of washington sucks and the boo birds chirpping. We have great match ups all around so with that.
I predict redskins victory score I cant tell u but as long as we win and I do beleave in a way we have all been longing for an all out asskicking. |
Re: What do you expect in our Week 5, Skins vs. Panthers matchup
It's not in me to give up hope but the truth is I don't think we are a playoff team right NOW. But the C-Men turn it around the year they won the super bowl and the Steelers did too. Not to say we on either of this teams level because we are NOT right NOW. Anything can happen tho I've seen bizzare things in my life and it could happen who knows.

Re: What do you expect in our Week 5, Skins vs. Panthers matchup
20-10 skins.
We gonna wreck Jake, defense will score a touchdown finally. |
Re: What do you expect in our Week 5, Skins vs. Panthers matchup
Our defense can't wreck a house made out of a deck of cards.
Panthers get their first win of the season 30-24 |
Re: What do you expect in our Week 5, Skins vs. Panthers matchup
The team has had its "legs" chopped out from under it due to moves by Cerrato (hiring another "set of eyes"), Snyder (giving a ton of money to Haynesworth, thus creating dissension among the other D-Linemen), and Portis (griping about his blockers, namely Mike Sellers, with Portis always appearing to say it's not his fault). I will be surprised if there is nothing more than a very disorganized, poorly managed Redskins team that takes the field on Sunday. I expect a loss.
|
Re: What do you expect in our Week 5, Skins vs. Panthers matchup
It is kind of crazy that at 2-2, the Skins have looked frazzled this week and made some curious moves, while Carolina is at 0-3 and seems relaxed and confident from what I have read (Maybe a sense of urgency, but not panic?).
Unfortunately, despite the better record, I think the Skins will struggle and lose this game. I'll say 20-13 |
Re: What do you expect in our Week 5, Skins vs. Panthers matchup
We will be down 17-0 at halftime, then in the 3rd quarter we score 13 points to close the gap 17-13. Then in the 4th the Panthers add a TD to win the game 24-13.

Anything is possible, so is the underdogs with a the better record winning the game. Has everyone gave up on this team. The third qtr. last week just shows what type of team is about to show up this week and the year for that matter and quit all the naysayers. |

Last week was a combo of things. If the Redskins played every game like the second half of the Bucs game, we would end the season pretty damn well. Unfortunately, after the bye week we actually have to play good teams (Okay.. Except the Cowboys) if we can hardly flex our muscles against bad teams, teams like ATL and God knows the Saints are gonna bend us over. I also chalk last week's win up to the Bucs missing 2 key field goals and coming out of halftime sucking, because if they had made both of those FGs, even with the second half rally we had and the TD, we still would've lost. |

I agree with you on the game last week. To me the team is Bi-Polar we are either moving the ball or loosing the ball. Now JC had his worst game of his career turnover wise last week and we still won. Now ATL AND the Saints I know the team we were all expecting to be here right now will show up. I sit here and watch the games we've played and i see this team bursting at the seams to be the team we want. Those red zone plays have really killed us, but progress is being made in my eyes, and yes i have had them checked and cleared 20/20 here. Our D is coming together our offense is still in search to find them selves I see us running the ball a hell of alot tomorrow. I feel good about the team even with all the stuff thats gone on this week Trust me you'll see. |
