For what it's worth the Buc's did have 600 less passing yards in 2009 then they did in 2008, so it shouldn't be much of a surprise that Bryants numbers took a dip. Of course last year he had 19% of his teams passing yards when in 2008 he was responsible for 32%. |

[quote=T.O.Killa;654491]Looks like we signed a former Bronco Center. He is young and I guess Shanahan likes him. Can't imagine we wouldn't aim higher though.

Well the Broncos cut him, and the Vickings picked him up immediatly. Then they cut him after three weeks, makes me think that he aint that great. Shanahan picked him in the forth, so i gues he wants another look to make sure that he is not NFL material. |
Re: 2010 Free Agents
I wonder how he'll fare in relation to E. Williams? I have high hopes that EW could eventually start at center, but he doesn't seem as cut out for the zone blocking scheme.

Re: 2010 Free Agents
Scouting report on Lichtensteiger:
Birth Date March 22, 1985 Birth Place Van Wert, OH Height 6-3 Weight 295 lbs. Age 24 Position G Experience 2 years College Bowling Green State Comment: As a rookie in 2008, Lichtensteiger saw action in all 16 games but did not start any. He has adequate size for the position with above average initial quickness, agility and balance. He understands blocking angles and does a good job of getting a fit with his hands to control opponents. He is a good knee bender who can keep his pad level down and leverage his blocks but lacks the bulk and strength to knock people off the line. He can be bull rushed by bigger defensive tackles and will find better success when he is uncovered and can help the guards to either side. |
Re: 2010 Free Agents
He's the first of several former Broncos, I'll bet.

Re: 2010 Free Agents
at this point, he's just a body. i highly doubt he'll be our day 1 starter and there's a good chance he won't even make the practice squad. since it's shannys 1st player pickup, its getting attention. otherwise, none of us would care.

Well, Broncos cut him because McDaniels wanted his own players. The Vikings have a very solid line, and probably picked him up as a stop gap (though I don't know that). What's more worrisome is that after the Vikings cut him no one else took him in, but if he is a zone block guy he may not have worked for a lot of teams. Not sure how he'll do against NFCE NT's and DT's |

A friend of mine who's a big Broncos fan believes there will be a purge of Shanahan's player, except of course Dumervil, Clady, and Champ. I wouldn't mind us picking up Kuper. |

Re: 2010 Free Agents
Steelers want Casey Hampton back
Posted by Mike Florio on January 16, 2010 6:28 PM ET With the Pittsburgh Steelers still committed to running a 3-4 defense and nose tackle Casey Hampton still on track to become an unrestricted free agent in a year that is still on pace to be uncapped, team president Art Rooney II has made his position on Hampton clear. The Steelers still want Hampton. "That will be part of our offseason plan, figuring out the best way to do that and how to handle Casey," Rooney told Scott Brown of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review on Friday. "We'll get into others and make some decisions about what we can do contract-wise with various other players." The Steelers could opt to use the franchise tag on Hampton. At times, they've been reluctant to use it in the past. Two year ago, for example, the Steelers didn't apply the tag to guard Alan Faneca, who signed with the Jets. The Steelers typically don't negotiate player contracts during football season. It's unclear whether any serious effort was made to sign Hampton to an extension before the 2009 campaign began. |
Re: 2010 Free Agents
Ok I'm just throwing out a hypathetical.....
If this was not an uncapped year and we had the room cap wise, and assuming the team will keep S.Moss, would you look into his brother Sinorice Moss to make it a family affair here? I know we have WR's and I don't want to cut them. Well maybe ARE, but other wise I don't want to cut them. I was just wondering. I think the Giants have not used him right. They tend to like the big WR's over the smaller ones or maybe he just is not as good or panning out like his brother. |
Re: 2010 Free Agents
A rolling stone gathers no moss.
A rolling Redskins team should gather no more Mosses. |
Re: 2010 Free Agents
I'd like to point out that Nate Keading is probably going to be a free agent next year....just saying.

Offensive lineman for the Arkansas Razorbacks. Sure he won't be available until 2013 but he's worth keeping an eye on.
