Re: Wife Question: Dropping Momma' at the Plane
Okay - here's the deal:
1) This is not necessarily about you taking your family to the airport / or other favor 2) This is not necessarily about lost time on the weekend Your wife is not feeling appreciated / Loved / special at the moment. Men and women just don't think the same way, we are wired differently. Your wife (and most women) are not going to give you a direct request - life's tough now, I really need you to make me feel a little special right now. However she wants you, as her other half, to know that and to come to her emotional rescue without having to give you the direct request. She's not looking for a trip or some time on the weekend - she wants you to let her know just how special she is to you. She is looking for your emotional support / time / attention until she feels better about whatever is happening in your lives right now. Make an extra effort to find out why she feels down and don't try to 'Fix It' but try to help her figure it out and be supportive. Let her know you care and are there for her. Best of luck!!!! I'm in my 33rd year of marriage and still get caught in the same scenarios from time to time. Its just part of being a guy ... |
OK, you wanna' know what's weird. She texted me and said, "You better not ignore me. I'm going to keep bugging you until you answer me."
I said, "DON'T BUG ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Where she could hopefully tell I was kind of kidding. So she writes, "Don't get me wrong, I'm not fond of Saturday, but I'm better with it - also in this deal it better be a kickass night full of monkeys, strippers and midgets." That's the exact quote.
Amazingly, Favre and Childress had the exact same text exchange. Though Childress claims he asked for dwarfs, not midgets |

LOL! Well played. Man, it's amazing how much better I feel now too. I mean I was NOT going to budge. She basically accepted my deal where we both get what we want. |
Re: Wife Question: Dropping Momma' at the Plane

Re: Wife Question: Dropping Momma' at the Plane

As long as there are beautiful latina women around, it will work. Costa Rica might actually be better. Re: Wife Question: Dropping Momma' at the Plane
What TV station is your reality show on? I just might watch it.

Re: Wife Question: Dropping Momma' at the Plane
dude. She's preggers. No other explanation fits.
|
Re: Wife Question: Dropping Momma' at the Plane
So it occurs to me that she can't go drinking if she is preggers...so that is out. You're left with two explanations...she's totally lost it or you're missing something. I think it's pretty damn likely you've missed something. At the end of the day though it is incumbent upon her to communicate clearly what the issue is. She has to know by now that you're basically in the dark.

Wait till she finds this thread. |
Re: Wife Question: Dropping Momma' at the Plane
Well, I just read through the entire thread. Must say, my favorite non-TMC drama was the exchange: All women got a little bit of crazy in them just like all men got a little bit of dumb.
As for the on-going drama - whew - dude, I am clueless. With that said - been there, done that. If it was me, I'd sit her down and say - "This is not about driving my mom to the airport. What's going on?" Then the ball is very much in her court. Really, when they get like this - and they all do - hang on, ride the roller coaster and wait for it to end. One thing that has worked for me is just getting some flowers and leave them for her - don't give them to her, let her find them with a simple note "love you" or some such thing. Not a sure thing but sometimes worth a shot. Best of luck man. |
Re: Wife Question: Dropping Momma' at the Plane

Being "better with it" now makes me think it could have been a hormonal-driven rage...they usually come back to Earth a few days after those and change their tune somewhat. :D Sounds like you have a keeper with her "requests". Monkeys are always awesome. edit: nevermind...bar rage erased the good news. GET A PREGNANCY TEST. |

If this doesn't sound like a trip to Tijuana, I don't know what does. She had something in her bonnet that she's finally let go of. Of course I'm curious by nature, so my first question to her would be why she was so upset about it. However, sometimes it's best to let sleeping dogs lie, so maybe not stir that kettle until next week sometime. Good luck with the Stripping Midget Monkeys. Edit: saw she flipped her shit again and then you guys might be good again? Which is it? And as saden asked, what channel is this show on because I've got the popcorn ready. |

|

Re: Wife Question: Dropping Momma' at the Plane
I don't have any inside information -- but I do have TMC and his wife on latitude for stalking purposes. They were certainly in different places today!

Re: Wife Question: Dropping Momma' at the Plane
I'm guessing this is a wife v/s mom getting your attention thing. Did your mother really need a ride to the AP or did she just want your attention? Your wife is thinking mom gets too much attention and is mad at you. Probably both of them are fighting for your attention even if one of them might not even realize what they are doing. Also never text or email your wife over personal matters and keep them for stupid stuff like what time will you be home from work, etc...
|
Re: Wife Question: Dropping Momma' at the Plane
Hahahaha, OK so anyway, for those who wanted an update, I ended up taking my family to the airport and it was problem free. We ended up driving up to Richmond for the night and stayed at Aloft and then went to Dave and Buster's and got absolutely hammered, came back to the room, broke the headboard, then passed out.

I am guessing you were near the Arundel Mills, I thought I saw you Sat. night. How was the hotel, funky right? |
Re: Wife Question: Dropping Momma' at the Plane
Now she's going to get ticked when you get billed for a new headboard.
