Re: Nfl Regular season thread ( week 5 )
Talk about a deceiving stats; The Cowboys are 2nd in total offense, 8th in defense. Yet they're 1-3.
The Skins, on the other hand, are dead last in defense, right in the middle of the pack on offense and we're 3-2, tied for first in the division. Love it. |
Re: Nfl Regular season thread ( week 5 )
At 1-4 they'd be cooked. They'd have to go 9-2 the rest of the way and seriously is there anyone alive who thinks that brain-trust won't lose them at 2 more games after that? Dallas is in trouble. They have to right this ship now or they can mail it in.
It is a long season. If the Boys are 1-4 after the Vikings game, they only have to go 8-3 to finish 9-7, which could win a wild card this year. At 1-4 they will be no worse than 2.5 games out of first place and could, depending on next week's results, be only 1.5 games out of first place. Stranger things have happened than a possible Cowboys resurgence. Am I predicting such a resurgence? Hell no. I think they will spiral downward. But it is too early to stick a fork in them with certainty. |
Re: Nfl Regular season thread ( week 5 )
What's killing the cowboys is not the fact that they are 1-3,it's the fact that 2 of those 3 losses are @Home in their yard.
They lose to Chicago and Tennessee at home and those are 2 teams that are beatable with the high praise the cowboys get week end and week out. They only have 6 more home games remaining Redskins,Giants Eagles,Saints,Jaguars and Lions. None of those Home games are going to be easy including the way the Lions are putting up points and the way the Jags are playing. and their road games are going to be brutal with Giants,Eagles,Vikings,Packers,Colts,Cardinals remaining... |
Re: Nfl Regular season thread ( week 5 )
As i've said i a previous post i live in WI and went to my local Packer freindly bar in my Taylor 21 jersey. I got alot of flack for the first 3 qtrs, but by the 4th I wasn't hearing the same cocky bs. I loved this game LL is a beast! D Mc is a Warrior. We have a reason to be positive this year and the NFC East can be ours if we want it! HTTR!:food-smil
Well for starters I was messing around. However the 49ers are not your typical 0-4 team. Lots of bad luck and mistakes are the result of the 0-now 5 start. They might be the most talented 0-5 team in the history of the league.
Every winless team has bad luck, that's not the point. They haven't managed to press through their misfortunes and bad luck to get a win a quarter through the season. Truth is there's probably not much separating most NFL teams in terms of talent, but it's all about playing for four quarters and the 49ers, thus far, have not been able to do that. Good teams create luck, bad teams succumb to it. |
Re: Nfl Regular season thread ( week 5 )
The 49ers are a total cluster F right now.

Re: Nfl Regular season thread ( week 5 )
Wade Phillips and Jason Garret are toast after this year, maybe before. The Cowboys have Pro Bowlers up and down that roster, but for some reason this team just doesn't play with any fire or sense of urgency.
I'd be very surprised if they make the playoffs this year.
Anyone notice they didn't act as entitled after a 2 yard gain for a first down yesterday? I've never seen a Cowboys team in years act that beat down the entire game. They played seriously and they didn't hop up after every play acting like they won the Super Bowl. Good for them though. They still lost! :) |

When you let Kevin Kolb run 19 yds on a 3rd and 18 you are a 0-4 team. Period |

Re: Nfl Regular season thread ( week 5 )
Definitely an odd season in the making.
Seeing the Chargers lose like they did to the Raiders....I mean Wow! Any team is capable of winning on any given Sunday this season. |

The play caller should be on the field and that would eliminate the problems. Singletary is just in over his head. I feel bad for Alex Smith cause it's not all his fault. He showed heart last night. They just need to put him back in shotgun and let him call his own plays, he seems to play MUCH better that way. Don't know about anyone else but I was rooting like hell for him on that last drive. |

Wasn't Alex Smith Smith suppposed to be benched? I thought that Carr was about to come in but then Alex Smith was arguing wth Singletary on the sideline |
Re: Nfl Regular season thread ( week 5 )
At this rate, Favre may be benched for Jackson. Or is Chili just too scared of his backup?
|
Re: Nfl Regular season thread ( week 5 )
How can the Vikings go from scoring 28 pts to 14 pts over one season?

Benching Favre will accomplish nothing |
Re: Nfl Regular season thread ( week 5 )
Seattle traded WR Deion Branch to New England for a fourth-round pick. Bet Tom Brady is happy.

TJ probably has a better deep ball than the cock texter at this point. Moss has a way of making qb's look better than they are. |

Moss is so good at that little push off.
|
Re: Nfl Regular season thread ( week 5 )
This was my super bowl pick to start the year, and now both teams look elite enough to be in it this year, but the Vikings losing Cedric Griffin isn't good. Looks like he tore his ACL again...

Remember how bad Michael Irvin was at that! He was the king of the push off....prick got away with it for 3/4 of his career too. |
