Wouldn't it be something if two weeks from now on Monday night we're lining up against the Eagles with Randy Moss and Shawne Merriman on our roster?
Considering all the local heat MS is taking today, bringing in Randy Moss would make our receiving corps a TON better, and give the locals some different fodder to chew on the next few weeks. |
re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
I'm thinking he goes to Carolina.
Edit: however, i have no clue what the financial ramifications are. |

I think it would be good PR move if nothing else. But Shanny is getting skewered today. Did you hear John Thompson and the Junkies give it to him today? |
re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
Ok here is the list in order from worst to us:
Buffalo Bills Carolina Panthers Dallas Cowboys Denver Broncos San Francisco Cincinnati Bengals Cleveland Browns Detroit Lions Minnesota Vikings San Diego Chargers Arizona Cardinals *Jacksonville Jaguars *Oakland Raiders *St. Louis Rams *Washington Redskins * all 4-4, we lost to the rams, so I would think our claim would be first right? So. With that, I think the main claims would be Carolina, but they just got Devin Thomas so they set! (LOL) Cleveland and Oakland (are they a spiteful group? ) I guess I don't see him getting to us :(
Buff had TO and suck this year so I'd say no. Carolina- they don't have a QB so no Denver, Cleve, Jacksonville...maybe St Louis-maybe, if they are ahead of us |
re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
At this point I would say...why the heck not? I doubt anyone is going to claim him off waivers, because who wants to pick up his contract when they can let Minny pay it? Also, by letting him hit free agency, you can pay him less, which he will likely accept since he'll still be getting money from the Vikes.
Maybe by having a deep threat, we can get some heat off McNabb and our crappy o-line. Hell, come out in a spread formation with Moss1, Moss2, Armstrong, Cooley, and Banks; and just chuck it up in the air. |
re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
He's not gonna clear waivers. Not a snowball's chance in hell.
I would love to bring him here.
Exactly, they are tons of teams who could use a hall of fame reciever right now...there is no way he doesnt get claimed |
re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
I would love to see Moss hear, but can he play RG, C, or LG.
|
re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
Back in April I predicted T.O. to go to the Bengals by July, He did.
I'll make my Moss prediction tonight. At the moment Im thinking a Moss,Moss combo is just to good to be true. |
re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
Shanahan sounds non-committal on his press conference, so I guess you never know.

re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
Shanahan on Moss: always looking to help team: "We'll look at Randy, and make a decision about whether he'll help our football team win."
were at least puting a claim for him |
re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
moss with Mcnabb would be great, this team is already in need of a big play receiver opposite armstrong and little moss, so yes lets get him some how.
|
re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
@Adam_Schefter: Teams likely to consider claiming Randy Moss on waivers: Cowboys, Redskins, Rams, Bears, Dolphins, Raiders, Chiefs, Jets, Patriots.

People quickly forget how he threw Favre under the bus after last week's loss to Green Bay, b*tching about the refs, and then b*tching about Belichick. |
Yes he is better
No, he is not better this season. Not only that but T.O. does not need a HOF QB throwing at him to be better than Moss. He simply is better. |
re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
1) i would have taken TO in a heartbeat, but he's not available now, Moss is.
2) I would LAUGH loudly if Dallas claimed Moss. I want him, but the weeping and gnashing of teeth from Dallas fans might just make up for us not getting him. |

If it weren't for Wade Phillips epic fail in Dallas and Jerry Jones being one of those owners who attracts headlines, Childress' "miscues" in Minnesota would probably make him the No. 1 coach on the hot seat. Not sure an indictment by Childress carries much weight in NFL circles (maybe, but doubt it). |

Moss is better than TO. I will say that until I die mainly because its true |
re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
I think Dallas would take him just to keep us from getting him. They don't need the help, they've got Austin, Bryant, and even Roy Williams is making plays this season. I know they all had hands on the balls that were intercepted but wideouts aren't the problem in Dallas.
|
re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
RED FLAG ? Are you freaking kidding me .. we could not have BEEN GRANTED A BETTE WISH than being able to add Randy freaking Moss to are pathetic offense ... this would CHANGE EVERYTHING .. god help us if Buffalo gets him on waivers ... HTTR .. SIGN RANDY MOSS

I think Dallas has bigger problems than trying to keep players from coming to our team. |

Please Football God's let us skins claim Moss off waivers.

What a dummy....he should just retire instead of embarrassing himself!
|
re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
I just hope Moss doesn't give up on some of his routes.
Yeah, shoot me for hoping that. He'll always give up on one route a game. |
re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
I'm not saying no here, but it's isn't a no brainer. Moss often quits on routes, often has a bad attitude, and isn't exactly a "team" guy. Is that what we need?

I didn't hear Coach Thompson or the Junkies, but I was listening to the Sports Fix with Kevin Sheehan and Thom Loverro earlier while I was in the gym (love that show- Sheehan is excellent). They were just plastering Shanny. Rightfully so IMO. The fact that Shanahan said "we'll take a look at Randy..." makes me think we'll definitely put in a claim for him. We could do a lot worse than having Randy, Santana, and Cooley as our top three pass catchers. |

He was a model citizen his first few years in NE. It's not like he's incapable of good behavior. The Vikings are a mess right now (although some would say the same thing about the Skins). |
re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
Honestly i think Bellichick and Shanahan are similar type coaches. Judging by Randy’s words last night he realized that he messed up and realizes that he actually likes a disciplinary type coach. So maybe Randy and Shanahan could be a nice match.

re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
As much as the Redskins could use Moss I don't see it happening. He would blow up like he did yesterday in Minny with the way things have gone for the Skins especially when Rex Grossman giving you the best chance in a two minute drill.
Dallas has the second crack at it. I doubt if Jerry bits. Moss wont clear waiver before The Skins 4-4 Record. Will Jerry make amends from the promise he broke in 1998 to MOss? It will keep us fans watching our pathetic Cowboys somewhat. If he does Wow some trades will be made in the offseason. I would like to see him with the Indy, Jets, Bears, Bucs, Dolphins, Steelers but it wont happen not with Rooney, or KC. After all of that the Bills will take his ass. |
re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
Vick To Moss is something we better all hope does not happen. D Jax and Maclin OH MY.

re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
I think Dallas has bigger problems than trying to keep players from coming to our team.
They obviously do, but you severely underestimate the lengths teams will go to to prevent other teams from getting what they want. Right now there are reports Miami could put in a waiver claim for him just to keep New England from getting him again. Does Miami need him? Probably not. I think they are satisfied with having Marshall, Bess, and their current depth. But they will use a roster spot on Moss just to keep him away from New England. I'm sure the Cowboys know taking Moss isn't going to be the fix they need to turn around their season. Far from it actually, considering wideout isn't a position of need for them. But I doubt they wouldn't consider using a roster spot to keep him from going to a team that could use him a hell of a lot more, like us. |
re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
I would not sign Randy Moss to a new contract, but I would throw in a waiver claim on him and hope for the best. We could use the kick in the rear to our offense.
If we get him, great, but Detroit leverages their waiver priority better than anyone. I'd imagine with the state of the Rams' WR corps, we would have to have priority over them to have a shot. |

Why would they bring that kind of crap into a locker room full of young hard playing guys. And BTW!! Hey we have a cowboy fan in the house!!!!!!!! in class, so i can't analyze this, but i thought i'd share.... back to school work.
This is the best post in the thread. Moss does not need to clear waivers, he is a FA. I want him...sign him. Redskins 1 should be on it's way to Minnesota as we speak. All these years complaining about how we don't have a tall deep threat can be put to rest. At a minimum it should open up the passing game to the other guys on the roster and put Santana in the slot where he belongs. |
