Re: brandon banks injured at dc nightclub
The initial reports made it sound like no big deal at all. I should have known better, this franchise has horrible luck!

Glass half full says it's good luck he's still alive.

No real long term complications so he should be doing the John Wall dance in a few weeks... |

No more than any other team. Even New England, who is run like a prison, hits the news sometimes too. Their scandals are usually bigger in impact. We are just saturated by Skins stories because we follow the team and live in the media market that loves to hate them. Honestly, until Haynesworth's PMS started this week and he started touching everyone...our scandals are mild, related to players ON-FIELD performance or lack of. We usually stay clear of the criminals that makes up the rosters of Dallas, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh and the Jets. Our issues are almost always salary or performance-related, not criminal offenses. Overall, we run one of the classier franchises in the league. No rapists, no animal killers, no accomplices to murder, no DUI manslaughterers, no illegal gun-toting morons and until this week, no one with happy hands. |
Re: brandon banks injured at dc nightclub
Looks like Banks did end up having a collapsed lung. He's out of the hospital though.
No link yet. Just broke on NBC 4. |

"The knife nicked his lung creating a pneunomothorax condition. He still has a chest tube inserted and it will remain until the wound heals and the lung remains inflated. |

However it is a painful injury and he will have a constant reminder for a while. |
Re: brandon banks injured at dc nightclub
Well, look at this from a positive standpoint. Sometimes people have to make the mistakes to learn what not to do. Hopefully BB has learned his lesson. Stuff like this can not only cost him an NFL career but his life. I'm hoping he looks forward with eyes wide open.

Re: brandon banks injured at dc nightclub
Wow, I bet this may limit his stamina for a while. He may have to stick with returns only for a while instead of trying to get on the field as a WR too.
Hope he fully recovers (from a personal standpoint more than football, but yeah, both) |

Re: brandon banks injured at dc nightclub
I was listening to lavars show on the ride home yesterday and they were talking about video from the club showing that the guy who stabbed brandon and his boy was trying to walk away but brandon and his boy pursued him so the guy pulled out a pocket knife.
anyone else hear this? i got in the car half way through the discussion so i might be all up in the koolaid but i dont know the flavor. also i ran the guys name in Md and DC and the only criminal thing on his record in this incident so hes not a career criminal or "thug" imo. If the account in this article of what the video camera shows is accurate, seems lil brandon banks got a big head on his shoulders. |
Re: brandon banks injured at dc nightclub
After reading the latest article on Brandon Banks trying to put the stabbing behind him I decided to check on his assailant Jason Shorter.
Apparently, he picked up some serious charges while he was on release pre-trial for the stabbing case. Less than 2 weeks ago (on or about May 18) he was found to have an unregistered/unlicensed firearm and ammunition in a vehicle (I think it was his, a honda, he got a ticket in MD for a honda) which violates alot of laws including the conditions of his release in the stabbing case. A review of the stabbing case shows that it may be dismissed but now Im not so sure what is going to happen since hes picked up 5 new felony charges. https://www.dccourts.gov/cco/maincase.jsf Above is a link where you can put in anyones name and see what cases people have in DC. Md has a similar database for free as well but VA requires a fee to search. Just plug in Jason for first name, Shorter for last and he has 2 cases. Just a good database in general to check up on roommates, girlfriends, coworkers etc |
Re: brandon banks injured at dc nightclub
VA has it too, but its by county:
