I think McNabb WILL be back.
Rabach better not be. |
Re: Where will McNabb land?
I watched the replay of the Texans game last night...McNabb looked incredible. He has a chance to succeed in this system.
Things went downhill after that game though. I forgot Carlos Rogers actually caught a ball that game too! Portis scored 2 TDs, Moss had over 10 catches...until the meltdown in the last 5 minutes, we looked amazing in that game. |
Re: Where will McNabb land?
That game was luck more than anything. Notice that McNabb looked like SHIT the entire rest of the year?? Never did he come close to that performance level again. He most likely never will.

Re: Where will McNabb land?
Texans - so bad in pass D, WRs just produced against them week after week. So bad even the triumvirate of mediocrity looked unstoppable.
|
Re: Where will McNabb land?
He will be here next year because of the lockout
|
Re: Where will McNabb land?
McNabb won't be back because he won't play for the Shanny's again IMO. Why would he?
I think he should go to the Vikings. |
Re: Where will McNabb land?
He will be here next year because of the lockout
Since players can't be traded for picks, this signals that the team has to draft a QB since free agency has been nullified. They have no leverage whatsoever to trade McNabb during three draft or afterwards. It's frustrating that the decision to trade for McNabb wasn't backed by a long-term plan and considered the possiblity of a lockout. Will they have to cut their losses yet again? Will they be stuck with him making a paycheck after receiving a roster bonus while sitting on the bench à là Haynesworth? |
Re: Where will McNabb land?
^ If the players win their injunction on April 6, there may be free agency and player trades starting shortly thereafter.
|
Re: Where will McNabb land?
McNabb will be traded as soon as the CBA is resolved.. Hopefully on draft day
|
Re: Where will McNabb land?
When is his bonus due?

If the players win AND if the injunction is not stayed while the league appeals that decision to an appeals court... |

At that point in the season we didn't know that...they beat Indy in Week 1. |

So true. I was just trying to indicate to another poster that free agency, etc., still could happen in a (relatively) timely way. |
Re: Where will McNabb land?
Hopefully on his ass when we kick him to the curb. Guy has been overrated since he's stepped in the league, and ****ing Rex Grossman played better than him. Get that overpaid clown outta here.

Rex made some plays that McNabb wouldn't have, but McNabb certainly could make plays Rex couldn't. REx never runs the ball, which is part of the reason I think he makes some terrible decisions passing. Based on his 3 game stint, the results weren't any different than when mcNabb started 13 games. Rex had his usual terrible plays but also made some nice plays. The season still ended w/him overthrowing Austin, and the dallas game ended w/him throwing a pick. I would also add that Rex got the benefit of 2 of the defense's best games of the year IMO. The play that always stands out in my mind was in Dallas when he overthrew a wide open moss in the end zone on a crossing route. He hopped before he threw the ball. It's like he couldn't control his nerves. Maybe he'll be better w/age. |
Re: Where will McNabb land?
Rexy was ok, but as he's done his entire career he turns it over too much.
|
Re: Where will McNabb land?
Yep....brought us all the way back in the second Dallas game...and sealed the loss with a stupid interception. That's Rex.
|
Re: Where will McNabb land?
Rex's time certainly was nothing like Collins taking over in 07, the comparison of course due to their previous experience w/the OC. Granted, there was some emotional energy fueling the team then, but even in his first game v. the Bears, Collins showed just how much his comfort level w/the offense was a plus. Saw some of that w/Rexy, but not enough to overcome his flaws.

Re: Where will McNabb land?
I will point and laugh at whichever GM believes that McNabb's play in Washington wasn't accurate.
|
Re: Where will McNabb land?
I can assure all of you that McNabb will not land in Miami, and why? Because he is to old and cost to much. I would also add why do you think he would WANT to go there, if he has a choice? With a HC who is standing on a balanced beam and a yes man for his OC I could think of many better places for McNabb and I'm sure he could too.
When is his bonus due?
If I'm correct we paid him that 3 million plus some deal and that gave us rights to trade him late in the preseason without taking any hit. Thats what made the deal so swet for us. |
Re: Where will McNabb land?
This is what Dirtbag was asking about. We have up til the first game of the season to make a decision, or pay him $10M

Re: Where will McNabb land?
What do you guys think the odds are that McNabb is actually traded? and what would the market price of those odds be?
Same question for haynesworth. And I do think haynesworth is trade-able (contract wise) because we are obligated to pick up the signing bonus when we trade him, so the new team will likely re-negotiate a new contract or just test him out for a year and cut him the next if they are not satisfied. |

Re: Where will McNabb land?
Who knows if this "inside info" or just someone throwing stuff up on a wall to see what sticks - - but here is one suggestion as to where Donovan McNabb might play football next year.
Also, please note the level of compensation suggested to acquire his services from the Redskins... Charley Walters: It's looking like Minnesota Vikings' quarterback next season will be Donovan McNabb - TwinCities.com |

I'd take any picks for McNabb, b/c unfortunately Shanahan treated him like crap and he probably doesn't want to play here anymore (although just for the sake of getting some worth out of that 2nd rounder we wasted on him, I wish he could stay here another season). For Haynesworth, I'd take any draft pick, just to get him the hell out of here.
^If we create a market for McNabb he may be worth more than a 5 rounder
How? |
Re: Where will McNabb land?
There are 10 teams in the top 20 needing IMO QB's. I think 5 of those teams are great landing spot for him (SF, MIN, TEN, ARI, MIA). Of those 5 teams you don't think teams will compete for his services. We got a 4th rounder, all be it next year for Campbell.
|
Re: Where will McNabb land?
I think McNabb isnt going to be highly sought after, only because at this stage in his career he is best served to be the fill-in starter until a rookie QB is broken in. Like for example McNabb starting 7 or 8 games until the rookie is ready, if the team is not in playoff contention...
|
Re: Where will McNabb land?
I think in some cases like SF he would be a 1 year starter. until they can draft Luck next year.
|
Re: Where will McNabb land?
Pure speculation that McNabb will be QB of the Vikings next year, but rooted in some legit basis.
Odds of being able to trade him dwindle him with each day that passes without being able to trade players. If nothing can happen before the draft, likely nothing will. Nothing will, as in no trade. Possible, but not probable. He'll likely just be cut I think you're probably more likely to see McNabb gone than AH. You know the saying...if you love someone, let them go |
Re: Where will McNabb land?
It's hard to fathom the fact that in just one season, McNabb's value has plummeted to a degree where we're left to wonder if we can secure a meager 4th round draft pick in exchange for his services after giving up so much.

Re: Where will McNabb land?
If McNabb goes to the Vikings then we will have a rookie QB. It's just like the Favre situation.
Favre plays in Green Bay for like infinity billion years. Favre gets traded to a team thats a terrible fit and has a failed season Favre's last team drafts rookie QB and lets Favre go Favre goes to the Vikings Favre has a career year Favre has his worst year ever McNabb plays in Philly for infinity billion years Mcnabb gets traded to a team thats a terrible fit and has a turrible season McNabb's last team drafts a rookie QB and lets him go McNabb goes to the Vikings McNabb has career year McNabb follows career year with worse year of his career....yes even worse then his year with the Skins. |
