maybe the worst free agent signing, but the worst overall "deal" to acquire a player was for Dallas' newly released Roy "Propose marriage in a letter delivered by USPS with a 70,000 dollar ring" Williams. Now that deal was absolutely horrid. The money he got plus the picks he cost.......Im sure more than a few dallas fans are sick to their stomach still on that deal.
Im laughing my ass off about that marriage proposal still....lol, plus the chick said no, and when Roy Williams asked for the ring back, you knew this was coming.......she said "I lost it". HAHAhAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!
Well as a Dallas fan I'm not sick about the Roy williams scenario. I'm sick about losing the 1st and 3rd round picks because we could had built way more. But Roy wasn't awful like haynesworth or a friking cancer to the team. HE just wasn't worth #1 WR money ever. It was a dumb costly move but it's not like he caused any disruption and we got Bryant so he didn't even stop us from getting a better player. Actually the team that takes Roy now will get a bargain because they will get a good #2 wr in most teams cheap. Jerry just couldn't justify keep paying the guy 9 mill. Haynesworth is just a piece of shit person |
Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
I won't be suprised if AH makes the Probowl w/ the Patriots. So far Mike Shanahan has blown up a top defense to make it one of the worst in football and completely mishandled a franchise QB who happens to be one of the more popular players in the league. My intuition is few great players will want to work under Shanny during his tenure w/ us.

Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
AH isn't even going to play full time in NE. Pro Bowl? lol
Once a turd, always a turd. And he will get flushed out of NE before long. Sit back and enjoy the drama NE! |

Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
Best part is, we get to play against him this year, so hopefully we can capitalize on one of his naps to get into the end zone. Realistically, this is perfect. He is gone, we wont see him again for 4 years, and he isnt a philadelphia eagle.

Roy Williams at least got on the field and did have some production. By all accounts we wasn't a total malcontent. Dallas gave up picks and paid him a ton of dough but not 35 mil over two years. Al is #1 and Adam Arch. is 2. The most expensive punt protecter in NFL history. lol. But the Williams trade was down right awful. |

The Pats would have been the last team that I thought would pick AH. I'm sad to say but I think they play of his strength and he has a couple of great years with them.

Probably true... The difference is that - - as Andrew Brandt's report makes clear - - the Pats can release him with no cap consequences AND the Pats have been known to do that with problem-children. Recall what they did with Randy Moss last year... Belichick will not just keep him around and get into weekly stare-downs with him. When - - not if but when - - Haynesworth acts out in New England he will be available to other teams quickly. Think the Redskins would be putting in any calls to his agent when that happens...??? |
Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
Since we are on the subject of BIGGEST BUSTS OF ALL TIME. Let me list some of the ex-Redskins most of us would like to forget. Not in any particular order. Jeff George, Jeremiah Trotter, Dana Stubblefield, Adam Archuleta, Deion Sanders, Bruce Smith, Antwaan Randle El, Mark Brunell, Laveranues Coles and Brandon Lloyd.

You can add AH, McNabb, Jason Taylor, and TJ Duckett (I believe we gave up picks for him). |

Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
I have to say both Adam Archuletta and AH are the wrost... but I 'll put AA first just because fro mthe start he got a Huge contract that he just didn't deserved by his play on the field. At list AH at the time everybody wanted him nobody wanted AA

Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
F that fat piece of crap who robbed us of 32 mil+. Would've liked to get more for him, but at the same time I'm extremely glad he's finally gone. I hope he doesn't get in trouble for a long time because I don't want to see him cut and head straight to Philly.
|
Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
To hear AH's opening press conference when he was signed, I really was excited about this guy. He was a beast of a player.
I've now got absolutely no respect for him whatsoever. He got paid, got lazy, and got selfish. When you cash a 20 million dollar check you better get your a** to work. What a guy. |

Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
AH will either buy into the Pats culture and be a monster or he won't buy in and be gone in a year. My gut is pride/spite will be enough to motivate him (highly) for a cpl/few years. He also wants a ring. Getting to the pro-bowl takes consecutive years of dominance so yeah I can see him in it next year.
...bottom line is our d-line is a sad mess. |

3 days ago that was true. It's coming together nicely from FA. |
Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
I disagree....
Why put him in a situation where he may excel against us? I got no problem not trading him to Philly, the team that probably values him the most. It is a recognition of the realities involved not an admission that we should have accomodated AH while he was here. Thank God he is gone and Good F'ing riddance. I shall do my best never to type about that big fat lazy good-for-nothing warped little cry-baby a**hole again!
Great post JR. I'll add, why would you give AH a chance to stick it to us twice a year, give Philly any inside info (not that he was paying any attention in meetings), let him go to a place where he wants to go (Philly), and take away from our team chemistry with all the distractions. No question he has potential to be dominant, but keep him out of conference just in case he decides to be motivated. I'm sure NE will dump him as soon as he acts up (or takes a mid-game nap), which is just a matter of time. F that fat load of $hit, I wish him nothing but ill will and misfortune. |

We weren't a good D when it came to making stops when needed or making big plays (sacks/turn-overs) under Blache. Blache's D was a "bend don't break" D that kept us in games but couldn't make stops in the 4th qtr or win games for us.
I'm also pretty sure MS/KS didn't make any of the piss-poor throws or decisions McNabb made last year. And no one wanted McNabb to succeed more than MS since he green-lighted the trade. McNabb's failure is on him and the fact that he doesn't have the physical tools he had 3-4 years ago. If he was still a franchise level QB that Philly felt could take them back deep into the playoffs they would've never let him go. We need to develop our own great players, not look to poach them in FA or trades, as that's a very costly proposition that the current front office appears to be avoiding (outside of the McNabb trade). |

We'll see how he does in Minn...personally I think he's gonna be close to his top years in Philly. There's no comparison to the defense pre and post Shanny. One was very stout and a player or two away from elite, the other is flat out bad. I don't think Barry Cofield is gonna rescue our defens lmao. I took a poll around the office and nobody could say where Cofield's played or what he's done. We might as well celebrate that Turd Ferguson is on the roster lol. Shanny has always struggled to identify and develop defensive talent. Wade Phillips did it for him during the best years in Denver. Honestly I don't expect much on that side of the ball. I do think/hope our offense will improve and become exciting to watch!!! |

Are your co-workers Redskins fan? Cofield has always been part of the d-line that has completely had their way with our o-line and battered our QBs. |

I took a poll of my kid's 8 year old friends. They had never heard of Cofield either. I don't remember anyone touting Cofield as a "Savior". Just that he was a young guy with good upside and a good fit for the defense being built. Sorry, those "top ten" D's were not a player or two away from being elite. I remember many a game where they not only failed to win it, but were handed a win and couldn't hold for the save. |

An office poll, you're kidding right? Sounds like you must work with a lot of people who don't know football. He's not a household name but he's not a nobody either. |
Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
This is so funny. If you're a Redskins fan you have to remember at least a few games when Cofield was pushing our guys around. Hell, more than a few times.
|
Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
I remember Cofield...I mean Turd Ferguson LOL. The point is he's just another dude. AH is among the most talented defensive players in the game and our brissly HC changed the scheme, blew up the defense and totally estranged our best defensive player AND the only franchise QB we've had in nearly two decades. I'm saying Shanny has a lot to prove...
The guys in my office are hardcore fusbol fans (Vikes, Pack and Steelers). Again I don't think Cofield is anyone to get excited about...everybody pushed our line around the last several years...c'mon guys lol the o-line has been a show lol. |
