Hey, we should get Hillis so Kyle Shanahan won't use him.

Ah see Vince Young...Madden cover means nothing. Plus Hillis was voted on.

Whoever came up with the fan vote idea for the Madden cover should be fired.

It should have been Rodgers... no questions asked.

Instead it came down to Vick or Hillis

The coach won't endorse him as starter (like our coach) and Ponder is likely to start Week 7.

Would have been nice if he started a few more games

If I recall right, it was majority of the fans that voted Hillis to be the front cover?

Imagine McFadden , Jones and Hillis at Arkansas in the same backfield . Shanny also drafted Kory L. , Torrian and E. Royal in 08 .
Stephen Ross sounds like a young Dan Snyder, what with his "all we need is a star head coach and star qb" mentality. That's it Ross, build your team up with stars, look at how well it's working out for the Eagles this year!
Stephen Ross and Danny Boy indeed see the world in similar ways. Ross is addicted to "starpower" - - even in the owners' suite. He has sold off small fractions of the Dolphins to singers and entertainers and has them hanging around the team for "marketing and promotional purposes". Danny Boy has not gone down that road but has thoroughly explored the path littered with over-the-hill star players and big-name coaches who never seemed to have the same success here that they did anywhere else...

Interesting move, since they could have tried to make a move on Brown in off season.. Brown should help Detroit's running game a little bit.

After leading the Washington Redskins with 11 catches for 141 yards and a touchdown during the preseason and then getting passed over in each of his team’s first four weeks of the season, second-year receiver Terrence Austin finally got a chance to make a play on Sunday.

Anyone else like to see more of Austin?

I mentioned this on another sight,IF Beck starts next week, I expect to see a bit more of the back up WR's and TE's in the game.
I am not saying the backups will suddenly become starters. But Beck has been working with and creating chemistry with the back up receivers because they play together on the scout team in practice.
The same thing happened when Doug Williams took over for J. Schroeder. Doug Williams and Ricky Sanders were completing passes in the dark because they worked more in practice. So naturally Sanders became a bigger part of the game plan over Clark and Monk because of chemistry.

Hillis could not escape that Madden curse. LOL.

But I'd take him. He was a monster for Shanny while he was in Denver, and his skillset is quite broad for a fullback. He's got hands to catch the ball.

Yes ,I like what I see in Austin . That being said , we need a big game #1 WR who can put some fear in our opp's DB's next year .

Madden cover is a reliable tea leaf for fantasy football. Neither Vick nor Rodgers are stinking it up in fantasy, now are they? ;)

Austin needs to play solely due to the chemistry he's developed with Beck. Hankerson likely isn't better then Gaffney at this point. Stallworth isn't really doing much of anything

How awkward is it when Harrison walks back into the Lions dressing room, knowing that the Lions tried to move him, and Brown does the same in Philly.

Meanwhile Lions sign James Davis to the practice squad, giving them Keiland Williams and James Davis I suppose

But that's not the real story. The real story here is that the reason the trade was voided was that when he took his physical for the Eagles they discovered he has a brain tumor. Unbelievable. Carson Palmer's trade might have been the bigger news story. But the Harrison trade may have saved his life, so that's the better one

Maybe the Lions will just cut Harrison and sign a FA RB. After all, it's mid-season and he can't pass a physical.

Brain tumor. I feel bad for Harrison. The stupid Eagles probably saved his life. They caught it early enough they said he should be able to recover and even may yet still play football. But not for the rest of this year though...
