I think we'd beat Cleveland. We'll see 12/16.
If they beat TB I will agree withyou, otherwise I think CLE is the better team. |
Browns are not better than us lol. Guys they are a 3-4 win team this year. Just 2 weeks ago there was talk about the skins being a sleeper playoff team and now we are worse than a 0-4 team? Smh

Re: Around the NFL...Week 4 Style
Too many folks here snub their noses at CLE and think we are better then them but in reality these franchises are on par to each other.

Based on what exactly? Because they gave the Ravens a good game? Cleveland is in the bottom 1/3 of the league in most offensive and defensive categories, plus they are now 0-4. |
Re: Around the NFL...Week 4 Style
Cleveland's secondary is A LOT better than ours... that is about it. Redskins would beat them.

Historically? No way. Last 10 years yes |
Re: Around the NFL...Week 4 Style
Given how we historically play down to our opponent (which is kind of a misnomer because I think it's really more about coaching, but whatever) you could say we're the better team but still might lose. Sounds stupid but it's true lol.

I guess we will see. My overall comment if you will is how we look at CLE is how the rest of the league looks at us. We are really on par to each other. The Redskins are just not a good team right now; I love them to death but they are just not a good team. |

Re: Around the NFL...Week 4 Style
one of my best friends is a die hard browns fan... we've suffered thru alot of years together lol... i like the browns, they, like us, are on the right path right now... they lpay in a tough division just like we do, and they also play our division this year... so dont be fooled by the record, they are an ok squad and weeden will only get better...
|
Re: Around the NFL...Week 4 Style
my dad grew up in orlando before their were any fl teams. the browns games were broadcast most, how could you now be a fan of jim brown? so he's a die-hard browns fan. i call them my 2nd favorite team. i'm always pulling for them, they've been wallowing in the muck (of avarice - according to jake the snake) since byner got stripped.
they had a good draft this year, have several solid pieces, things are looking up. i'm just glad i picked them last night |
The redskins are definitely not one of the leagues elite teams over the past decade or so, in fact we have been a laughing stock since Dan came around, but still we are like the 2 nd most valuable franchise in the league.

Now thats a silver lining. No pun intended. |
Last 20. Sorry.
At least we've won a division and a few playoff games.... Lol |
We are a really bad team overall for the past two decades with a really rich tradition that blinds us from the fact that as things stand today we are the lions, browns, etc of the league.
Like the song goes "id trade all of my tomorrows for one single yesterday to be holding bobby beathards body next to mine". Ok that got weird but its true. All that being said RG3 will make us not only relevant but champions again before he is done imo. |

Just like us, Cleveland is giving up a ton of yards on defense. What is it that you like about their defense?
It is a 4-3 and their DEF Cord name is not Jim Haslett. They got after Joe pretty good last night with 4 sacks. Kept Rice in check with 49 yards. Yes they could have doen a better job with Smith and boldin but they kept their team in the game. Held B-more to 33% effinceny on 3rd down. They have had a harder schedule then us (PHI, CIN, BUF, BAL). We have had 3 cupcakes with another cupcake to be served up Sunday. Yes NO is a cupcake this year. I am not saying they are head and shoulders above us. Probaly more accurate to say they are on par to us. |

Re: Around the NFL...Week 4 Style
If they had a top 10 defense this might actually be a discussion worth having.
If they had a top 10 defense this might actually be a discussion worth having.
I tried but busy at work to look up their numbers but are their DEF numbers off because they played 4 games vs. our 3? You prolonged the discussion so you must have thought it had some worth and by the reactions of others it seems like a legit conversation to have. I think you are discounting their schedule and over valuing our schedule. Rams, Saints and Bengals all have crappy DEF's so our high offense ranking is a bit bloated. Browns DEF so far: Ravens (4th Offense) Eagles (5th Offense) Cincy (8th O) Bills (11th O) They have basically faced 4 top ten offenses. |

We faced the Bengals too and the Saints still have an offense that can move the ball and score at will. |
Re: Around the NFL...Week 4 Style
:(
I think when you look back at how badly we've been outcoached thus far, then look ahead to the remaining schedule, it's pretty easy to see a 4-12 or 5-11 season. It's especially frustrating for someone who isn't "surrounded" by Skins fans drinking the kool-aid i.e. I have a ton of friends and fam who are Denver fans and not a single one thinks Shanahan deserves an HC job...anywhere. I think commentators are sympethetic to him because of the two SBs, but again when you look close it was really his coordinators, John Elway, Sharpe, Davis and a top defense that produced those trophies. I truly think any HC would have won with those teams. |

Well we also played STL (28th ranking) and they scored at will on us. SO this week we have TB (32nd ranking). If they run up the score on us I think it is safe to say CLE has a better DEF then us. |

Remind me again why did they signed him to a 100 million contract?
I'd give the Skins the edge because of their offense. Skins- giving up 34 points per game Browns - giving up 24.5 point per game Browns have a better defense. Giving up yards really doesn't mean squat unless your opponent is punching it in the end zone. |
Re: Around the NFL...Week 4 Style
At this point why am I still on this board???? I just got some cool Brown's stuff at lunch and a Richardson jersey.
Cleveland ROCKS! |

Cam will be fine. You got remember the age of these guys.

^ remember hearing a top scout speak last year before the draft who sat in during a Cam interview during the combine and said his he just couldnt spend a top 5 pick on him. He said his concern was 0% physical or skill-wise but 100% mental. He had multiple red flags.
I thought after last season i thought, wow dude must have been wrong. Now Im starting to see exactly what he was refering too. |

If the point is that Joe Gibbs was a great coach because of 3 SB's with 3 different QB' and RB's, then im with you 100%. If the point is that the only coaches who are considered good coaches have to have won SB's with high schoolers to prove that they can outcoach the other sideline. Under that scenario, there is no such thing as a good coach, they are all terrible. I dont believe the problem is Shanny the coach. I believe the problem is Shanny the GM. Its easy to look outcoached when other teams are more talented than yours. I figured it would take several years after Vinny left office to make up for his mistakes, but its year 3, and we still have massive holes all over the place. Allen needs to have that final say on player acquisition imo. |

It tells me a lot about a person when they are getting their asses handed to them, and the guy still wants to show off (doing the Superman shit) after scoring a TD. I'm like, hey superman, you aren't too super because you are getting your ass handed to you.
Yet VY never had a season like Cam did last year. I won't write old Cam off yet.
He had a "pro-bowl" type of season and ended up in the pro-bowl just like Cam. Him having a fantastic year doesn't mean jack shit really. Having fantastic years of play is another story. Their offense they ran last year was more designed to suit his strengths, but now the real test is going to begin. After teams have tape and a full year of watching him, they'll be able to game plan for him much better. (as noted in the games this year) I said from the get go with him that his first year wouldn't mean jack (good or bad), but it would be his second and third year as to how he'll do in the long run. I believe that with mostly any QB to be honest with you. (RGIII as well) |
