Re: McCoy to Start Against Indy
So if Colt plays badly, does that mean that Colt is as bad as RG3? Is it Jay Gruden that sucks? Or is our entire team and coaching staff just a massive pile of garbage?

Re: McCoy to Start Against Indy
I don't care which one out of the three is our starting QB in 2015, just don't draft a QB in 2015. Fix the offensive line in the draft and build up depth!!! Need to give whoever is the qb the best chance to succeed. Whoever has the best off season/pre season starts at QB. Hail!

Re: McCoy to Start Against Indy
Griffin sucks, Redskins suck, stadium sucks, owner sucks, Haslett sucks, secondary sucks, o-line sucks, special teams suck, defense sucks, this sucks....Happy Thanksgiving.
Its funny that people can say Cousins deserves the shot because other QBs threw picks too. Yet, Colt cannot have that same comparison? Why because hes 3 years older? He is 28. Not 38.
Hes been through the shit at Cleveland and had his bumps. I just think people are brushing him aside and forgetting hes 2-0. Its about winning. What happens if Colt wins 4 straight? Maybe im playing devil advocate here
I see colt as cousins with a weak arm. I just dont think colt can be anything more than a game manager bc his noodle arm effectively shrinks the field for passing plays. |

I think I have officially jumped the sharks on the Skins.

The ceiling for Colt is much lower than the ceiling for Robert, but the fundamentals will be better with Colt. I don't see either Colt or Kirk taking the offense from a first and goal to a 49 yard field goal attempt. As far as Gruden goes I have been confused by some of his decisions this year but I think he needs more than one year. |

Honestly I have been a fan of this team since the early 80's. I had given up all hope then Griffen came along and I thought ok finally. Of course he and this team are now a shit show. |
He was on pace to lead the league in picks... no idea how quickly people forget.
Apparently you didn't see where I explained that in 2 of his games he threw 7 INTs (Arizona & NYG), but in the other 4 games he threw only 2 INTs compared to 7 Touchdowns? Also... Again... just to be clear, (2-time Super Bowl Champ and veteran of far more than 9 games) Eli Manning has thrown a combined 7 INTs in 2 of his games (Arizona & SF) this year... It can happen to QBs who get into a funk... Especially a young QB who knows he has to be Superman to win his job and is felling all kinds of pressure to perform. Memory can be funny... A lot of people are forgetting the 280 yards, 2 TDs and ZERO picks against the Seattle Seahawks... or the 437 yards and 3 TDs vs the Eagles... but remember the 2 bad games for him... People are also forgetting that every DeSean Jackson homerun this year was tossed by Cousins and... as a side-note... just knowing D-Jax personality and prior history, I'd say it's a good idea to use the QB that will keep him happy... Listen, I'm seriously not drowning in Cousins Kool-Aid... What I am saying is that he should be the one who gets an extended look over the next 5 games... and I honestly think he has the most potential of the 3 to move our offense... that's all. |

That god awful int before the half sealed his fate. I don't think the coaches trust him and you can't blame them for that. I'd like to see him get another shot next year. He's certainly played some really good ball here. |

They weren't teaching him the position? Whole lotta blame to go around
This. It's a systematic failure. I don't know what it was like around here but pretty obvious to me the franchise was a disaster through the whole Shanahan era, save half a season. Gruden's off to just as bad a start, but now RG is the fall guy. The franchise is flailing and desperate all around. What irks me is nobody in media and elsewhere has pointed out how shitty Gruden's offense has looked all the way around. The false starts, illegal formations, sloppy play and efforts all around. Does benching RG fix all that? I'll be watching Sunday that's for sure. |
Re: McCoy to Start Against Indy
I know it's not saying a lot but I'd still take Cousins over RG3. Cousins's problems aren't foundational. RG3 on the other hand, well, you've seen him...

LOL I know :( Just not sure how much folks are remembering pre RG, it was just as ugly and Shanahan had enough time to get/mold whoever he wanted. Sounding like Gruden will have that same opportunity now, recruit and mold whoever he wants. Although if he can't get the rest of his offense playing together, playing smart and looking like a well prepared/coached team. This hasn't been the case yet with Gruden, regardless of QB, my opinion. |

Re: McCoy to Start Against Indy
I realize I'm the only person maybe, in the world, to say this... I think Cousins should be going in at this point.
It makes no sense, to me, to put McCoy in there now. I wanted him to stay in after the Dallas game, and I honestly believe we'd be 6-5 right now if he'd played the last 3 weeks... But, again, here is where I'm on Crazy Island by myself... I think that Cousins will be the one to be a Great quarterback for someone... and I hope it's us. Yes, he threw interceptions... and yes, once he did, he looked like a guy who freaked out that he made a mistake and got frantic and made other mistakes... but THAT.. to ME... looks like what young, talented quarterback looks like. Remember that Cousins has started a total of 9 games in the NFL! I realize that a 3 INT game and a 4 INT game stand out... but in his 4 other games this season... 7 TD's to 2 INT's. Eli Manning just threw 5 in a game 2 weeks ago... Against 2 of the absolute best defenses in the NFL that he had to face back-to-back weeks (Seattle & Arizona), he averaged more than 300 yards passing, 4 TD's to the 3 picks against 'zona. He's the one that needs to finish being evaluated and not written off. Check these numbers of great QB's early in their career: Elway - 25 TDs - 29 INTs in first 2 seasons P. Manning - 100... yes 100 INTs in his first 5 seasons (that's 20 per season) Farve - 19 TDs - 24 INTs in his SECOND FULL season E. Manning - 17, 18, and 20 INTs first 3 full seasons (and just last year tossed 18 TDs to 27 INTs!) My point is... If you have watched our games this year you had to see that Cousins fit balls into teeny tiny windows that McCoy and Griffin NEVER would. He MOVED this offense... period. The WRs got the ball! ... The tight ends got the ball... And... check this out... He threw 10 TDs in 5 games, which out him on pace for a 30+ TD season. Remember the last 'Skins QB to do that? Me either. It was done ONCE (31)...by Sonny Jorgensen.. in 1967. To me, honestly... he looked exactly like a guy who knew this was his one shot in life to be an NFL starting QB (here or elsewhere) and once he made a mistake, he would get frantic to make up for it, and make another... People forget how much internal pressure must have been on this guy every week. He KNEW this was his one shot because he wasn't a first rounder. These other elite QBs struggled in their first 9 starts... but could relax, play through the dumb throws... but their talent was evident... to me... Cousins arm-talent is evident. I truly think he could be a Farve or Eli Manning-type guy, who when he's on... with the weapons we have on offense.. could possibly get hot every year or so and win us a big one... while, in other years, make you want to throw a brick through your TV. But either way, right now... HE'S the one that needs another shot... McCoy is not the future and we have to figure out who is...
I'm on crazy island with you brother. Agree 100% with what you wrote. |

Since Shanny had full control, isn't that really all on Shanny?
If memory serves Shanny wasnt sold on taking RG but the owner fell in love and the rest is history. I thought at the time the Skins didnt have choice but to make a move to get RG. Its a QB league and the Skins needed one badly. Who could have predicted that RG and his Dad were going decide that he had to become a pocket passer at the expense of everything and everyone else. |

Jay still has a lot of faith in Kirk. The way Jay feels about RG3 is the way I feel about Kirk, and vice versa He likes Colt a lot but not as the long term answer. Who knows, maybe he'll surprise |
