I find it hard to believe that game only has a 7.5 point line. I'd take NE if the line was twice that.

Trail was signed to PS.

@TarikCSN: #Redskins also added WR Isaac Blakeney and LB Lynden Trail to the practice squad. Meantime, LB Sage Harold has been cut from prax squad.

Blakeney is a big kid at 6'6 235. That's something I've hoped we could do is get a big target. Runs a respectable 4.6 40 so we'll see but I like the idea of having a big kid running corner routes.

Concussion, sprained mcl and sprained ankle. It's not looking gud for Sunday.

Reeds got a lot of concessions in a short career, feel bad for the guy...he's been awesome this year.

We really got to address te this offseason

Yea, but that is a noble screwing. You're playing the chosen one.

This is an outside the division, completely unjust screwing.

AAAARGH

God fuck this team bring back Schwartz at least they were fun to watch then when they lost...

RE: Chosen One, well, Russell Wilson says he wins games because of Jesus, does that count as being as Chosen as Green Bay? And we all know that Jesus probably has a thing or two against Lions what with the Coliseum and all...

I've said it before but I've felt like his next major concussion would it for him. I don't see how he can responsibly put his long term well being at risk anymore. It's time for him to start thinking very seriously about hanging it up. Hate to see it knowing how much potential he has but the game isn't worth being f'ed up for life.

I'm not up on scouting at this point so I don't if there are any big time TE prospects coming up but it'd be nice to get a first/second round quality TE for next year but we also have a bunch of other holes to fill as well..

I was assuming Wilson would get another touchdown, that's the Lions Way (tm). The fact that they drove the Seachickens so far back gives me hope even though Seattle got a field goal.

Fucking Calvin Johnson....lol

I'd cut CJ come this off-season. They aren't getting your money's worth out of this dude and his skills are only declining and not worth investing a 24mil cap hit next season. Let somebody else make that mistake.

See, I know this godforsaken cursed franchise better than anyone on this board.

Always finding new ways to lose.

Always.

At this point I'm going to watch for the dark comedy of it all. Wayne Fontes was the best modern coach we ever had, folks. Wayne...Fontes. Think about that for a second--he's our winningnest coach of the Super Bowl Era.

HonoluluBlue 10-05-2015 11:27 PM

Re: Around the NFL: week 4

The only sadder loss than this I can remember in the last five years was when the Ravens beat us at home with nothing but field goals, including a 60 yarder IIRC. Fred Phelps was wrong, god doesn't hate gays, no, God hates the Lions.

The Stafford/Johnson Era ended tonight. Time for rebuilding year #59! Woot!

For once, our season isn't over by week 4 much like it has been the past few years. Like I said, that Lions team needs some serious changes. I never liked the Caldwell hiring to begin with.

Caldwell should get his walking papers this weekend and Austin made the HC. And Lombardi the grandson needs not just to be fired but exiled to Fiji.

At least you have glory days within many people's living memory to fall back on. Ford even makes Snyder look like the Rooneys.

ETA: And now int he postgame it turns out the whole play was illegal and the Lions should have gotten the ball back. Of course!

NC_Skins 10-05-2015 11:37 PM

Re: Around the NFL: week 4

To make things worse for Lions fans, the refs blew that play in the endzone because the Seahawks player illegally batted the ball out of the endzone.

The officiating in the NFL this year is horrendous. Yesterday's Skins/eagles was a cluster full of bad calls.

Why couldn't they throw the flag after the review? Detroit got screwed big time...

But kam chancellor, that guy is effing amazing.

Re: Around the NFL: week 4

The refs are garbage. Even I knew that rule, as many fans watching probably knew it as well. Just pure incompetence. Detroit isn't all that good but they got hosed.

The refs should be treated as players. They should have an off season training program, to go over rules and so forth. They're a total mess.

All true. Pathetic, but Goodell will look the other way like always.

Saw this somewhere on the board but can't find it now:
“Two years ago we set an NFL record for explosive plays,” Kelly said today. “Now no one plays those coverages.”
Chip Kelly: Defenses changed coverages to stop our big plays | ProFootballTalk

To me, that sounds very Spurrier -esque. "Hey, we'll just chuck it around."
