Re: NFL Free Agency 2016
Good to see the one guy Dallas wanted more than anybody, Lamar Miller, will not be joining them. Going to the Texans. Nice to see Dallas get the dick in the eye by their Texas brethren.

Re: NFL Free Agency 2016
Anyone see the NFL Insiders on ESPN? They threw out a scenario that involved Denver making an offer to Kirk Cousins( the offer sheet) and see if the Redskins match it,it would only be two draft choices but you pick #31 or 32 ,what do you think?

Texans are giving Brock Osweiler a 4-year, $72 million deal, per source. According to Schefty they are. No way in hell we are signing Cousins to a long term deal this year. If Brock is getting 18mil/yr, you know Cousins isn't signing for less than 20.
I'm not surprised at all. $18 mil/year is about the going rate for above average QBs. The question is, is Osweiler above average? Will remain to be seen. |

Actually, this might not be a bad idea for Denver. Their first round pick this year is going to almost be like a second round pick. Who knows what next year's first round pick would be like? It would almost be as if Denver is just giving up a second round and a first round next year (assuming they don't win it all again.) Could be very interesting. I would be nervous. |

I think at this point Alfred Morris is the best option with the Cowpukes, with Miller, Forte, Martin, and Ivory off the market. I hope Morris goes somewhere like Miami (heard someone speculating about this on Twitter). |

That would be stupid. Should have just overpaid Brock and kept the picks. Not a huge difference between Brock and KC. |
Re: NFL Free Agency 2016
The signing that really makes no sense is Janoris Jenkins. I just don't get that one at all. Definition of an average corner.

They can't offer him jack shit now since he's signed his contract. He's exclusively ours for the season. |
Nope...let him play the tag this year. If he plays well 2 years in a row...by all means lock it up 20+ million per
Given that next years tag cost for him will be 24M, (120% of 20M) I think if we can get a long term deal done by Jul 15th, it's worth it. Problem with making a player play on a prove it deal, is if they do, then you are paying the high side of the high side, a la Joe Flacco and the Ravens. A reasonable long term deal that both sides see as a win would be the best solution. |
Re: NFL Free Agency 2016
I would just like to say I'm so glad we're past what the Giants and Jags are doing. We're long past that shit. Big spenders in free agency is for suckers. It's like buying a sports car with 100k miles on it.

I really wonder if Peyton gonna answer the phone if he sees elways number pop up.
Let's be honest, horse tooth jackass completely thought nobody we be so stupid as the Houston Texas and osweiler would return. Horse tooth can seriously think rg3 or kap is leading this team anywhere. Fitz could be an option... Would Peyton say yes to a cap friendly 1 year deal? I think he would |

Well now they may have no choice. I don't think he gets moved though |
Re: NFL Free Agency 2016
the problem with moving bradford is the guaranteed money doesn't get traded, so the eagles would be paying him to play somewhere else (depending on the type of guarantee, roster bonuses that convert to guaranteed money at X date would move, for example).
even if they redid the contract, i believe players can't give money back (cause lavar), so i think it'd be a hard move to make. I don't know the specifics of his contract though. |

Bears sign ILB Danny Trevathan (4 years, $24.5M; $12M guaranteed
Read more at 2016 NFL Free Agent Grades: WalterFootball.com Bears got the best deal of the day. ILB is not as high an impact position as others on a defense....but I cant believe the Giants with the need at LB and the dumb money they are throwing around couldn't get this guy. 24.5 million, 12 guaranteed. Hell I would have been thrilled with contract for us...good deal by the Bears! |
Re: NFL Free Agency 2016
Thought the same thing. I definitely would have paid that for him.

Re: NFL Free Agency 2016
Sam Bradford & Chase Daniel to the Eagles
The Deal: Combined (two years for Bradford, three years for Daniel) $56 million with $34 million guaranteed Some eyebrows were raised at the deal Sam Bradford got before free agency opened and those eyebrows will now be raised even further when paired with the deal handed to Chase Daniel. Fresh off playing only 186 snaps to earn $10 million in three years as a Chief, Daniel muddies the waters at the quarterback position for the Eagles. Philadelphia is now paying quality starter money for two quarterbacks, with no guarantee that either will actually turn into a quality starter Good question here by PFF...wtf are the eagles doing? 34 million guarantee in 3 years for 2 QB? ok.... |
Re: NFL Free Agency 2016
yeah, trevathan and jpp are probably the best deals so far, outside of carolina's hometown discount.

Re: NFL Free Agency 2016
Giants free agency comes from a place of panic. The GM just saw Coughlin get whacked and is out to save his job. Vernon had 6.5 sacks two years ago, and 7.5 last year. I'm also told he ranks high in QB knock downs, which basically means he is highly ranked at getting to the QB a step too late.
So basically, he's Brian Orakpo, yet the Giants gave him more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. Derp. They got somewhat better, they added four solid players on defense (solid, not great). But they'll hit the ceiling on the cap in a few years and have to blow it all up. They have a two year window to go 9-7 or 10-6. Good job. |
Re: NFL Free Agency 2016
Don't judge everyone by your own experience.
It's not just the Redskins experience, it's literally like 95% of all massive UFA contracts. That might even be a generous estimate too. |
Re: NFL Free Agency 2016
Out of 86 pro bowlers last year, only two were 2015 free agents.
You're getting solid players, not stars. |

Atlanta Falcons, front and center. Tell me why the fuck did you pay 32.5 million for a guy who caught zero td last year and in 12 games had 2 or less receptions? Jaimeson crowder, our 3rd WR, 59 catches 604 yard...almost doubling sanu output. This is a day after they signed a 30 year old center to 45 million, 28.5 guaranteed 5 year deal. Atlanta, get the fuck out |
