This team is limping towards the finish line. If we were somehow able to make the playoffs it would be one and done. With 10 draft picks, cap space and some luck with Doctson and Galette, I'd expect a much better and deeper team next year.
Good point, if they make the playoffs there is the illusion that they are a decent team. They would lose in the first round again. This team needs major rebuilding to start this off-season. They must sign 3 or 4 of their own....KC, Baker, Jackson.... cut the over paid vets..... sign 3 -5 mid level free agents. And with 9 or 10* draft picks find more than 3 that can contribute next year. * I am not sure if they have two 5th round picks. They have N.O. pick.... their own ? |

Re: Playoff hunt!
We need Tampa and Detroit to lose sooooo bad. That is our surest way in. Of course we need to finish today.
Minny just has no shot. |
Re: Playoff hunt!
Ok Saints. Lets do this! Dallas is going to beat Detroit too. Skins will control their own destiny once again...

Well if they lose to Dallas on Monday then either result in the last week will be good for us as it will either give GB a loss or Detroit its second loss C'mon Saints! |

How many times do i have root for Dallas in one year, it's killing my soul.
Call it loser talk, but i'll be happy with 2 winning seasons in a row even if we don't make playoffs. |
Re: Playoff hunt!
Giants are locked into the 5th seed now, maybe they rest some starters next week

Yeah, but Cowpukes have first seed all sewed up. They may rest starters and we want them to beat Detroit. |

They won't rest starters and take off 3 weeks. They'll play to win Monday and they probably will. |

Good thing is, if Detroit loses against Dallas, we just have to beat the Giants to get in, because now that TB lost one, either a loss by GB or 2 losses by Detroit get us into the playoffs (if we beat the Giants), and GB plays the Lions next week! |
Re: Playoff hunt!
So if Detroit losed to the Cowboys, the winner of the Detroit vs Green Bay game gets in and the other is eliminated?

Wait, does Detroit need to lose tomorrow or tomorrow and next week for us to get in (if we beat the Giants)? |
Re: Playoff hunt!
The giants have nothing to play for either, they are locked into the 5 seed. That means they probably will rest most starters. We win that game. So basically if Dallas wins Monday at home like they should, we r in

Re: Playoff hunt!
Wait, does Detroit need to lose tomorrow or tomorrow and next week for us to get in (if we beat the Giants)?
I hope this helps: 1. We must beat the Giants to have a chance to get in. If we win, then our final record will be 9-6-1. 2. That would eliminate TB because the best they can finish is 9-7. 3. If Detroit beats Dallas on Monday, they are in the playoffs because that would be their 10th win. They would then enter their final game with a 10-5 record. 4. So, if Detroit wins Monday and we beat NYG next week, then we would still need Detroit to beat GB for us to get in. With a loss, GB would finish 9-7 and they would be eliminated. If GB beats Detroit in that game, both teams would finish at 10-6 and both of those teams would make the playoffs while we would be eliminated. 5. If Detroit loses to Dallas, then both Detroit and GB will be 9-6 going into their final game vs. one another. The winner of that game wins their division and, with a Skins victory over the NYG, the loser will finish 9-7 and be eliminated. |
Wait, does Detroit need to lose tomorrow or tomorrow and next week for us to get in (if we beat the Giants)?
If they lose tomorrow, we don't care if they lose to GB or not, because we need either GB to drop one, or Detroit to lose 2. Worst scenario is Lions win tomorrow and lose to GB next week. But KI explained it best. |

As long as we beat the Giants that is correct |
Re: Playoff hunt!
if you remember back to the beginning of the season, many of us (me, for example) were concerned that our 2016 schedule (#17 overall) was tougher than the 2015 version (#21 overall).
So, in retrospective, we should all be quite pleased that we're still alive for the playoffs at this point. There's no doubt we gave away 3 games or so & didn't show up for another 2-3. Also, remember that the NFCE was horrid last year, but had an unparalleled revival this year- Dallas & NYG are tough outs and Philly has sparked more than anyone gave them credit for. But, even after all of that, here we are...still with a fighter's chance of extending the season. So, regardless of how this plays out Monday night & the games next week, as 'Skins fans we have a lot to be thankful for. If we can add a few pieces and get better play from just a few spots....(DL, LG, S, ILB, RB) this team will be among the NFL elite. And hey, if some pieces fall into place the next week or so, all we have to do is play better and be more fortunate than the other team & we keep moving on. There's a lot to be thankful for & the future is bright. HTTR! |

Even last year when we won the division, we weren't getting any respect, everybody was like "your schedule was easy, you beat no team with a winning record". This year I feel, regardless of wether or not we make the playoffs (which I hope we will cuz this is one of the goals of a season), we're finally getting some credit, we are more legit to be in the playoffs. |
Re: Playoff hunt!
Why do people keep bringing up LG? Kouanjio has proven he can play and will be our LG of the future. We need DT, OLB pass rusher, ILB and S. we will be set.

Agreed. And I would put DT and S on top of the priorities list. Sure some playmakers at LB (and maybe an other CB) would be a great thing. But I'm sure if our DL brings pressure and stops the run and our safeties cover better, this defense will look WAY better, even without any other improvement. |
Re: Playoff hunt!
We are damn near a lock to beat NY at home. They aren't going to play Manning most likely or Beckham.

Dustin Hopkins cost us at least two wins and possibly three. We need to build the middle out. DT, MLB, S and RB. We should be ok with su'a cravens at safety next year. We have close to 10 picks in the draft, we should be able to find some starting talent. |

Hasn't been confirmed but I saw on twitter that since they can't improve seeding that they are leaning towards resting him and other starters |
Re: Playoff hunt!
And the fact that Vegas has us at 7 point favorites basically says it all.

Nothing confirmed and yes mentioned on twitter I saw a post of it in Facebook. A ny writer said it's been rumored anyway. They may start but y would u risk injury to your QB in a meaningless game? |
