Tavon Austin is terrible.

8.7 ypc and 12 TDs in 5 seasons.

Ryan Grant is better than Tavon Austin.

Finally a true nose tackle with pro bowl potential. I like the Payne pick much more now. This allows him to slide outside on running downs. Settle in the middle with Allen and Payne outside. Wow. Nickel formations keep Allen and Payne inside rotating in Ioanidis. Loving this draft.

I agree and a few people had him listed in front of Allen.

No way Chico. Apke is going to be a ST ace. And ST’s has been a huge issue for us.

I agree. Penn state defenders have had some good success. I think he will provide good depth for us at safety and be an instant starter on coverage teams. As Jay likes to call it, hopefully he’s a war daddy on ST

Settle was ranked the 5th best DT, ahead of Harrison Phillips. What a steal!! What a line!! Allen, Payne, Settle, Ionnadis, Lanier (all young) Hood, McClain, McGee who goes?

After the 5th round...I’ll settle for it.

I’ll be watching how Derwin James pans out.

But at this point how can you not be happy with Payne and Settle over Hankins?

Now let’s find a guard

If he's healthy, this is a solid pick, I was hoping they would get a back up MLB, when Foster went down there was a big drop off at the position

Linebacker is a good position to play with a chip on the shoulder. A guy I wanted was Darius Leonard from SCS. I like this pick. Good player if healthy. ACL tears are so common, that doesn't bother me. Broken kneecap is usually a fluke injury. I should start watching every Bama game so I get the inside scoop for all our future players.

It was such a good value I didn't even know he was still available. Our D line is so so much better than it was last year.

Settle, Lanier, Ioannidis, Payne, Allen, McGee. That is a solid freaking rotation.

Hood and McClain are gonna be looking for work.

I wish we’d have picked up a CB somewhere. We lost Fuller and Bree and signed only Scandrick - not exactly upgrading our back end - and we did nothing at the safety position either (unless Aptke develops for more than teams). I realize beefing up the DL helps but more talent on the back end would be nice.

Yeah, I agree. But you know how it goes, hard to fulfill every position. We have 1 more pick, so maybe we can find a hidden gym.

I saw an article that said Apke actually did well in the slot. If he helps there, that would change my whole stance on that pick.

He should have the closing speed you need for the slot. That would be good if it works out.

Now about that hidden gym - sounds exotic.

Our secondary is fine. Norman and Moreau are starters. Scandrick slot and Dunbar 4. I'm not too worried.

Montae is a good S too
