Re: Guice injured again
Go AP!!! If the Gruden story is indeed true and he wanted to waive AP then I hope Gruden gets fired sooner than later!! AP was the only thing we had going last year and this is the thanks he gets... Gruden is a friggin joke

It's pretty bad when Bruce Allen makes you look incompetent.
Listening to B-Mitch today, driving around running errands, he believes Gruden was being spiteful by making AP inactive and it was a dumb ass move. That dumb ass were his exact words, I didn't think you could say that on the radio. |

This is a great example of how I am frustrated about how many people literally accept someone's opinion as a factual information. We have seen it everywhere, especially in politics lately.. This often leads to bad assumptions and spreads misinformation.. I read one interview transcript with Gruden after the game earlier today, Gruden said that he chose to keep Peterson inactive for the Eagles game only because he doesn't play special team. Gruden knew Eagles will use Sproles as returner so he wanted players who can help contain Sproles. I understand where Gruden came from, I don't agree with the move but I am not holding it against him. |

I don't understand why Guice had to carry the whole load for the running game when: 1. His first NFL game - ever. 2. After spending the previous season down with an ACL - first regular season return game after injury. I know he was cleared to play by the medical staff. I know he only ran for 10 carries. Still, wouldn't a LITTLE caution be prudent under these two conditions? |

Re: Guice injured again
guice had 10 carries for 18 yards lol, he didn't do jack shit Sunday. Maybe he's just not that good / reliable? He fell pretty far for a reason. Skins took a chance and so far it hasn't paid off

Re: Guice injured again
This AP shit has gone way overboard. I don't agree with making a HOF player a healthy scratch, Jay and whoever else had input on the decision should have seen the bigger picture. BUT, I don't think Jay was doing it to intentionally spite AP, or there's some sort of conspiracy at work. Guice was drafted to be the stud RB, he was cleared and healthy. He looked great in that 3rd preseason game against ATL. All this revisionist history now that he got hurt again is ridiculous.

This. Also, I liked what Cooley said about some players being upset about the AP benching: it is none of their business, all they need to focus on is getting ready to play on Sundays. |

100% agree. |
Re: Guice injured again
It didn't look like the line was doing much as far as opening any holes anyway. I wish Gruden would go to an I formation and try running some old school plays. To have 30 yards rushing is inexcusable. If the shit ain't working then you gotta change things up.

Re: Guice injured again
The game plan against Philly was clearly pass heavy, if the D could have held up their end of the bargain nobody would care about the lack of a running game right now

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
If Case Keenum had made that wide-open pass to McLaurin, that might have reversed the momentum, leading to a close victory. Then the running game might just be a footnote of the game. I was surprised that DJax was able to spread and shred our defense so thoroughly. I really wish we had kept him two years ago, because could you imagine having DeSean and McLaurin together on the field - a DC nightmare. |
Re: Guice injured again
You guys make too many excuses for Jay.
Fact is he left our best RB at the hotel while the defense was in desperate need of a few long drives on offense. First 3 Drives in the second half: 3 plays 1 yard TOP: 2:27 3 plays 0 yards TOP: 0:25. 25 SECONDS! 3 plays 4 yards TOP: 2:46 Chris Thompson said DG was injured in the 1st quarter. Guice carries in the 2nd half: 0 yards -5 yards 2 yards The defense was hung out to dry by the offense in the second half. It would've been nice if we had a future HOF'er as a backup. |
Re: Guice injured again
Out 6-8 weeks now. Not his fault, but another wasted pick. Based on our luck, Love should just retire now. He is fucked here.

I want to see this kid promoted to the 53 man squad and given a chance, really liked him in pre-season. Shifty, quick, strong runner.

Highly doubt Guice ever becomes a reliable RB1, is what it is at this point.

Re: Guice injured again
Djax was motivated to shred the skins like he was against Philly for us, also in Cover 3 you MUST have a damn good FS that can make up the space, Montae isn't that good. No surprise we got beat deep, luckily Dallas doesn't have the DJax speed but they still have a great OL that will dominate our horrible pass rush

D Jax ability is not surprising...but the fact we have the exact same problem with communication in the secondary this game which we had all last season is disgraceful. Torrian Gray was the scapegoat and lo and behold it seems worse this year so far than last year. Its just pathetic. |

Yes, it is ridiculously frustrating to see the team get outplayed in a quarter, but also if the team was a few plays from changing the outcome of the game, then perhaps we're not as terrible as people think. Also, I'm not excusing the coaching and the players for the f'ups they did. It is just that I also see how well they played, and if they can find a way to sustain that, they can win games. If I don't do that, what's the point of being a fan? |

I honestly wasn't surprised by the lack of communication seeing as we always have it. The first TD, Desean is going to run by Josh Norman every single time. No if's and's or but's about that one. The way Carson launched the 2nd one before the camera even moved I knew Desean was wide open. Also, Montae isn't good. Our coaching never seems to fix anything either. So nah it didn't surprise me. |

All 3 TD passes came on 3rd down, and to top it off a 19 play 10 minute drive in the 4th quarter. That is just taking the will of a team away. |

I also agree with Cooley and Portis, in that they need to simplify things with this team. You got a 7th round rookie on your lineup? Don't go all complicated and adjust to the situation. Your opponents offense just went on a long drive and scored after the half? Run the f*cking ball and maintain control of the T.O.P. and let your defense rest. Also, players need to step up and do their f*cking job. Morgan Moses, needs to STFU and worry about his own play. I think Cooley or Portis said something about poor execution by the players on defense. Both players and coaches need to get their act together. They can play, we saw it for a half, they just need to get their heads out of their asses and stop getting in their own way. |

I blame Gruden. He's hired Barry and now Manusky. These guys are not good d-coordinators. It's all on Gruden. Gruden was hired by Allen so there you go. Losers hire people that are not a threat to them. |
Re: Guice injured again
I wonder if the outside consultants that looked over the injury concerns looked at our drafting and keeping previously injured players relative to teams that have the fewest injuries

Craig Hoffman
Verified account @CraigHoffman 1h1 hour ago Callahan to the podium. He confirms they’ve launched the practice window for Derrius Guice from IR. They anticipate it being the minimum two weeks and he’ll be good to go after the bye. Case Keenum didn’t practice today and is considered day-to-day. -------------------------------------------- I love Guice's attitude. Excited and hopeful he gets the remainder of the season to show what he has. Would be nice to check 3 down back off the list. |

Idk where we go with running back after this but between him and Love we have roster spots tied up in guys who can't play. |
