There is research to back it up. I posted it somewhere else, but when I set up the WATCH D.O.G.S. program at my kids' school, I had a whole slide about the consequences of fatherlessness, or not having a father figure. It's a thing. Not sure it's necessarily a thing for this thread, since I'm not aware that we have any idea what the home life is for the kids involved in the B Rob shooting...

And it is also a fact that a child without a father or a father figure doesn’t automatically grow up to be a violent criminal. To assume that is the case when you hear about a shooting is just silly. I mean how many times do we hear from the parentS of one of these lunatics after the fact and everything points to an absolutely normal family structure and upbringing? All. The. Time.

As a father, and someone who grew up with a father believe me I am not discounting the importance of a solid family structure. Was simply saying that to jump right to the conclusion that a violent criminal comes from generations of poor or non existent father figures - which is what the original comment said - is a reach at best. This just hits home w/ me. I use to do some PR projects w/ DC Police years ago. I knew the frustration that the police were having because these savages would do crimes like this and be right back out on the street. Not sure if the guys I knew are still w/ DC. They wanted out and this was long before all the BLM bullshit.

On average there was one carjacking a day in DC a couple years ago. The department would tweet out their frustration. They went on the news to tell the public about it. Still nothing...

The two savages that did this are 15 and 17. No doubt their fathers aren't in the home. Mine wasn't either and I am black so no fucking excuses. Put them in jail for 25 years. When they are caught I bet they have already done something to someone else and were let back out.

And yesterday I turn on the news and Charles Allen is on there talking stupid shit. He wants to know why this happened. Don't ask why. Just lock them up for a real long time and ask questions later. Stop having empathy for these losers you weak asshole.

Can you imagine if this went the other way and BR was killed? ... like the guy was in front of Nats Stadium?? Idk.. I am just pissed off and need to vent. Sorry about the rant.

1. I never said black boys do better with fathers. Or hispanic boys do better with fathers. I said "boys", as in all boys, regardless of race. Also, I didn't get into why fathers aren't around. That subject could be it's own thread.

2. As for the part in bold, all 3 of those things are fucked up and have greatly contributed to problems in this country. Fuck anyone that was involved with any of those things. Our own government and leaders have definitely done some fucked up racist shit that has harmed the Black American community.

I'm all for releasing people in jail that are in there for non-violent drug offenses. Just wish at the same time we actually kept criminals who have committed violent crimes in prison for a proper amount of time.

Robinson is already out of the hospital. More great news. Looking like a full and complete recovery will happen for him. Thank goodness.

I grew up in a fatherless home, poverty area of south MS, most of my friends were missing their fathers too.. It's true, kids without fathers struggle big time. I was a knucklehead until I met my eventual father in law.

Anyway, does anyone have any information as to exactly where B Rob was shot, or the nature of the wounds? I heard hip and knee, and I also heard "flesh wounds". The hip and knee could be problematic if there was structural damage to bone, ligaments, etc., while with flesh wounds, he could be back pretty quickly I would think.

...Robinson was treated by paramedics at the scene and transported immediately to a local hospital. One bullet hit his glute and another struck him in a lower leg.

It's good to hear that he's been released from the hospital, and is doing well. I'm sure we'll have him back sooner than later. Also great to see everyone visiting him and rallying around him. I can't imagine the feeling of working your way up from the time you're a small child, and making it to the league that you've worked for, quite literally, your entire life, a d have something like this jeopardize it.
The season hasn't even started, and he's got my vote for comeback player of the year.

I was at the Monday night seattle game last year … guys were trying to start fights in the stand .. there was a young very nice black guy guy beside me and my friends the drunk ass seattle fan was threatening the guy … he was a smaller guy and was a little shook up .. so when we left I told him to walk out with us .. the seattle drunk followed us yelling at him … we finally got security to get the guy away .. that was scary as heck and I’m sure without intervention that young guy would have been assaulted.. way too much hate going around .. I think I’ll stay home and watch games .. I hope we see Brian back soon !

Apparently B Rob [I]was[/I] shot in the knee, but it passed through without hitting any "vital" parts of the knee. He is scheduled to meet with team doctors today to determine rehab / timeline, etc.

Not sure about the other one, maybe a flesh wound to the hip / butt area...

He is on the 53 though, not NFI list.

Wow. So fortunate. Not only to be alive and ok but how many people can get shot in the knee and go on to play any sport let alone a RB in the NFL?

Someone looking out for him. Would like to believe God saved his career because its going to be a great one, but if thats the case the majority of it will probably be on another team. Lol.
