Re: Trade deadline approaching...
there has to be a buyer - who's giving us anything of value for gibson? I'd be surprised if we see much movement. Anyone we get rid of has to be replaced with (ideally) equivalent talent (and there's a cost to that). DL is a bit overbooked, so if there's someone they don't plan to sign long-term, maybe there's a trade there. outside of that, I don't really see it.

Plenty of teams who could use depth at rb and he can return kicks. Id take a fourth for AG. |

The only people I would keep would be Dotson/Terry/Howell/Allen......the rest would be expendable. If the next GM were smart, he'd do what the Cowboys did a decade ago. Draft OL in the first round three years in a row. It went on to solidify that line for over a decade, and make bums like Dak look good. The game is won on the front. Until a GM gets that, we'll never be worth a shit. If you're drafting RBs in the first round, you've already lost. |

Wrong thread |
Re: Trade deadline approaching...
Chase most certainly should be on the trading block.
Not giving him a new deal or franchising him. He reminds me of Orakpo. Plays well against bums but against the best guys he is a no show. |

Allen maybe on his best season. KC needs a WR BAD too… I’d definitely call and offer one for a 2nd Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Trade deadline approaching...
Some of talk is ridiculous, feels like knee jerk/anger. No way I'm trading Scary or Dotson. Gibson or Brown maybe as they're replaceable. Young I'd prefer to keep but I understand if the offer is good (2nd plus change) you have to give it strong consideration. Fuller maybe too before he goes under FA. I see nobody else who isn't good value to keep or not the core of a rebuilt roster next year.

Re: Trade deadline approaching...
Yea not looking to trade our younger valuable assets lol but ppl like #99 can go for me.
He's probably about, if not thee, most valuable trade bait right now I'd assume. No shot I'm thinking of trading 17... lol |

Concur. Besides, I wouldn't allow this lame duck staff to make any trade unless it was for a bonafide first or second-round draft pick. IMO, you don't give that sort of autonomy to a staff or front office who likely won't be here once the last game of the season is played in January. |
Re: Trade deadline approaching...
terry for a 2nd? come on. doubt anyone is giving us a 4th for gibson either.

Sweat OR Young Gibson Fuller Samuel Brissett Crowder |

No way am I trading Brissett away, it seems like Brissett is working with Howell closely so I want to give Howell all resources to help him succeed. |
Re: Trade deadline approaching...
Our coaching has been so bad for so long, it’s not hard to imagine some of the folks on these lists going elsewhere and flourishing. And as I don’t trust this regime to get good value in any trade, I’d be happiest doing nothing and letting real grownups deal with the roster starting in January.

Agreed, but with Cousins likely out, I expect the Vikings to be enquiring. If any decent trade capital is on offer, I'm giving it serious consideration. Our wagon is very much hitched to SH and JB isn't coming in and turning this season around. Keep our options open... |

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ditto! Unless we're wildly blown away by an offer then I'd rather not allow a lame duck group to make wholesale changes per se'. If they move one of either Sweat or Young then fine. But I do not want this current group trading two or more players as you know they more than likely screw it up. |

Sweat OR Young Gibson Fuller Samuel Brissett Crowder
Sweat and Young are the only ones with trade value here. And frankly, it seems that Sweat is the only one teams are actually asking about. |
Re: Trade deadline approaching...
There is a report that one team offered a 3rd round pick for Sweat, and it could turn into 2nd round pick if Sweat agrees to an extension with the new team.. Yeah, no thanks. I would prefer to sign Sweat to an extension instead of taking this offer.

Re: Trade deadline approaching...
No way I trade anyone… Let the new Staff do all this .

Re: Trade deadline approaching...
Really odd how we blast Ron for all the moves he's made here to date, but we trust the guy to make a good trade now? The guy who traded Trent for a 3rd and a 5th??
I say fuck no to Ron making any more deals here, let a new GM sort all of this out. Honestly I'm disappointed new ownership hasn't started to make front office moves. Maybe that's coming soon. It would be nice to hit the offseason running with a new GM in place. Trade Terry? Some of you have lost your damn minds. |

I would do that if true. Getting five years of productivity out of a first round pick and then turning it into a second is a solid deal. I would hope the ownership, if the plan is to let go of the coaching staff at the end of the season, wouldn't allow the current FO to make the trade without ownership approval. If they do we might have bigger things to worry about with the new owners than we realize. The key piece is will Sweat want to sign with us. He is a UFA so extending him is off the table. If they know he won't then take the 2nd of a comp 3rd. If he is open to resigning then hopefully they talk that out. |

I would bet that Harris has some behind the scenes help on player evaluations, and that he would make the decision to say yes/no to any specific trade. Blow this whole franchise up, from the HC down. I'd keep Howell, McLaurin, Dotson, and Payne. Other than that, if its not bolted to the floor, sell if the price is right. I'd add Curl to this list too if he can be re-signed, but if not, he can be traded too. |
Re: Trade deadline approaching...
If they don't trade many of these guys before the deadline then they are most certainly going straight to free agency and we will get nothing in return. We have built this roster up in our minds so much the last four years but they haven't won anything and any new staff will be bringing their own guys in

If the best we can do is a 3rd for someone like Sweat, might as well take the compensatory pick if he walks. |

We have a shit ton of cap space, with a new GM coming in. We will very likely be having multiple big FA signings this off-season, those can cancel out compensatory picks. I don't think you can rely on those. And those picks wouldn't be until 2025, if we did get any. I'd rather have a 3rd rounder in 2024 then a 3rd rounder in 2025 anyways. You're going to get a discount offer when a guy is in the last year of his contract. That needs to factor in as well. |
Re: Trade deadline approaching...
I'm trading Chase for anything I can get. We've seen enough to know what he is at this point. Toohill is every bit as good if not better.

My allegiance to anyone on the roster outside of McLaurin is pretty much gone. Burn it all down and build the team culture back up. I'd prefer to keep Payne, but honestly, if we traded all 4 DL starters, I'd be perfectly fine with that. I would like to re-sign Curl (or he would be a good franchise tag target for 1 year possibly). Build the offense up around McLaurin/Howell and the defense up around Curl. Make those 3 guys the team captains and see what we can build with a fresh start. |

Outside of Payne I'm ready to blow up the DL. They've been overrated AF. |

A new GM with our roster holes, I hope we do spend money. We need players. This is not Dan Snyder any more after this season, I have full-faith in Harris to hire a competent GM that will make good decisions on free agents. I wouldn't want Snyder or Rivera behind it, but they will all be gone next year. We can totally re-make this roster between now and next season, especially if we can pick up some extra draft picks by trading some current guys. |
Re: Trade deadline approaching...

I’d like to see Allen under “new management” Payne is a must stay. I’d keep Chase another year under the tag and would move Sweat this week for a 3rd and pick swap. |
Re: Trade deadline approaching...
I would hate to trade Sweat but I’m ok if he goes Atlanta. Kyle Smith who drafted him wants him there. I don’t want any trades with SF, those fuckers have fleeced us in the past.
Source: One team has offered the Commanders a 2024 3rd-round pick that would turn into a second-rounder if Montez Sweat agrees to a contract extension. The*Falcons*are among the teams interested in Sweat, who grew up near Atlanta. Tuesday's 4 pm deadline should spur activity. |
