Harris should bring Scott McClaughen back

Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
What do you guys think of Josh McDaniels as OC? I think he could work with Howell or a new QB, and certainly understands offense.
I know the new GM and HC will make those decisions, but if he is willing to go back to OC, he could be in demand. |

Can you elaborate? I know he is awful as a HC, but what makes him a cultural cancer, and a bad OC? |

Has he ever had success anywhere that he didn't work with Belichick? I think Belichick and Andy Reid are the two coaching trees where coaches get picked off from, but the majority fail because they are simply not Reid or Belichick. |

Compared to the BB tree coaches, even Ron has had more success in his career. The BB coaching tree is full of flops who come from inflated expectations because they coach for BB and had Tom Brady as QB. |

But yes those three are examples where Reid's protege's have had success after leaving his staff. |

Good read - personally not sure it makes a difference firing McDaniels now or after the season but obviously Mark Davis is smart enough to know when it's not working. Now comes the hard part - hiring a permanent guy to lead them. Also Davis gotta be hurting - between Jon Gruden and McDaniels they are paying an assload of money to two HC's not working for them anymore. |
Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
I’m not sure why not go extremely hard after Jim Harbaugh?
|
Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
Plenty of "rumors" floating around that we will be going after the Hoodie.
Meh. |

If Florio is saying it, it’s probably wrong
|
Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
Can't see that happening at all.

Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
If Harris hires BB and trades a pick I’m not sure that ain’t a Dan move ..😳 Convince me I’m wrong …
|
Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
Would have to agree, which is why it's not happening.

I'll try. I can't see Harris hiring a 71 year-old man to coach this team. BB looks to be very, very tired these days. Also BB hasn't been winning nearly as much without having an All-World QB on his side. Bill will want total control and Harris might find it to be wiser to hire a GM who reports to him and who can develop a top-notch FO staff that can carry on the work in the event of a coaching change. |
Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
I guess we gotta trust The new Owners … it will be interesting for sure !! I just hope that Sam plays great the rest of year and we can move on from the QB search .. there is no reason our Offense can’t do well ..

Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
Bill Belichick is a great head coach. But I would be concerned about his age. Plus he hasn't done jack shit without Brady.
|
Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
Bring in coach “Prime”. :)
I’m not sure why not go extremely hard after Jim Harbaugh?
Jim can't win a NC in college with all that talent he has on his teams. He's not his brother when it comes to coaching. |

Go figure, coaches don’t win without a QB He could have Sam here… |

I'd love to see this. He's youngish, energetic, charismatic, and understands the pro game because he played. He also seems like a good mix of offense and defense mindset. The cherry on the sundae is that he's a Redskins alumnus. He probably wouldn't leave CU to come here but it would be worth Magic giving him a call. |
Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
The trades of our drafted DE as well as the performance of Gates, Wylie, Barton and our entire worthless latest draft class makes it clear:
GM and pro personnel director needs to be addressed first before we start making any wish lists of coaches. Our free agents and draftees decisions have embarrassing. It’s been bottom third of league type shit |

Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
Bill Belichick is a great head coach. But I would be concerned about his age. Plus he hasn't done jack shit without Brady.
I wouldn’t say jack shit. He did win 11 games with the Browns. Yes the Browns. He won 11 games without Brady (made Matt Cassel a big fat paycheck and obviously he wound up being an absolute nothing) and won 10 games without Brady. BB is a defensive genius. You give him a serviceable quarterback and he is going to win a lot of games. Also he is equally as responsible for the 80’s Giants as Parcells. BB and Brady were lucky to have each other. Without one or the other they aren’t the greatest dynasty of all time. |
Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
I'd take Bill in a hearbeat. He would attract other great coaches and players to the team. Maybe Bill could be a GM and hire his HC?
|
Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
BB is terrible as a GM
BB is terrible as a GM
He sure is. Lots of first round misses, for a couple of years he kept trading down from the first round for no reason. No thank you. Give me a straight up GM. |
Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
Ok then HC lol

We'd probably end up with Joe Judge as the HC, Josh McDaniels as the OC, and Steve Belichick as the DC. I'm hoping we can do better... |

Wouldn’t Ben Johnson love to prove that a Tar Heel could be the face of this franchise?

Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
After trading both Sweat and Young, the new GM better hit a homerun with our top 5 picks or new ownership will look like fools.
|
Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
Adam Peters for GM.
