Re: 2023 NFL Post-Season Thread
Interesting fall guy. Kyle's offense didn't exactly get it done either. I think holding Patrick Mahomes to just 19 points in 4 quarters was pretty good. San Francisco just needed to punch it into the end zone in OT, and they didn't. Wonder who the successor will be.
It might be more than the SB game as we have to remember that the whole team admitted that the defense didn't do good job in the playoffs prior to SB. Maybe Kyle felt like Wilks didn't do a good job of preparing the team during playoffs. Nonetheless, it's interesting move since the defense played pretty well throughout the season. |
Re: 2023 NFL Post-Season Thread
I wonder if he's not a fall guy, but instead there was a similar situation to the Giants. Maybe Wilks second guessed Kyle's play calling and it escalated to 'this town ain't big enough...'?

Kyle had Saleh and Ryans before Wilks, they were pretty good on D. He made Wilks move from the both to the field after a few losses mid-season, Wilks is a pretty good DC but lacks the energy of the other 2, I think it comes down to trading for Chase, Gregory, getting Sebastian-Day on waivers, signing Logan Ryan and not producing a championship. Unfortunately it was easy to make Wilks the scapegoat. |

I see why his ass got fired. I want no DC that's doing shit like this is a crucial game.
Unfortunately it was easy to make Wilks the scapegoat.
He was fired b/c he didn't get it done, he wasn't just a scapegoat. The defense got worse even though the team had more talent than previous year. |

Yes they were middle of the pack against the pass, but they held Mahones and KC to 3 points in the first half. Shanahan needs to accept that he is not the boy genius and not find scapegoats for his failures. |

Yeah, I don't get the hate for Shanahan guys. Snyder was the one who messed up everything for everyone including Shanahan guys.
|
Re: 2023 NFL Post-Season Thread
I'm a big Kyle fan but you can't ignore how his teams just never can get over the top. How can his players not understand the rules? That's on him. How can they take the ball in OT when everyone knows it's a huge advantage to getting it last?

I do! They are my most despised team in the NFL. When you live here and hear all the shit talking from the fans, you would too. Their fans are the worse, the majority are fair weather fans who call themselves faithful, LOL!! |

The Raiders fans came up with that name for his father. Kyle can hate Snyder all he wants but when you pull antics in front of Washington fans, then I take offense. |
Re: 2023 NFL Post-Season Thread
Forty Whiner fans are going to go ballistic when Kyle hires Brandon Staley as their new DC.

I gave Kyle shit for that game, but Kyle is brilliant when it comes to calling the offense. My only qualm with him is he doesn't know when to be simplistic at the most crucial times. He ends up trying to be too cute when he should keep it simple. Hell, in Atlanta, he could have ran it all 3 downs using the clock fully each down and the Patriots still would have lost. |

Surprise cut of the season:
@MikeGarafolo The #Dolphins have informed CB Xavien Howard he will be released at the start of the league year, sources tell me and @PSchrags . The four-time Pro Bowl selection is expected to have significant interest on the market. |

I'd rather resign Fuller than go after Howard. He's been better and more consistent over the last two years, and he's a smidge younger.

Yeah, but you find ways to keep all pros guys and a cornerstone on defense. Plus Miami got relief as the salary cap with that big number released yesterday. Definitely seems like there is more to it. Injury, questionable off field decisions, not great the last couple years, all pro in 18,20…that’s awhile ago. I would pass, spend that money on an edge. |
Re: 2023 NFL Post-Season Thread
Wilson going be released; might have been one of the worst trades in NFL
Thank god SEA didn’t want trade within the NFC; dodge a bullet |
Re: 2023 NFL Post-Season Thread
Denver will be moving up to get a QB...or will at least try to.
I don't think Russ is all that bad. He and S Payton were never going to work though. Wonder where he ends up. |
Re: 2023 NFL Post-Season Thread
Wherever he ends up it won't be on anything near the contract teh Denver doofus' agreed.
I wonder if he goes to LV? They've got a legacy of turning around rejects. |
Re: 2023 NFL Post-Season Thread
Honestly, LV makes the most sense. He can sign there for next to nothing and the Raiders can beat the Broncos twice per year while the Broncos are still paying him millions... Perfect.

Donald retiring. Didn't appear close to finished, but I guess if you've earned that much and the hunger not there, then bow out while you're healthy. Happy retirement Aaron.
The Cowboys can't have enough salary cap problems to satisfy me.
Agreed. Funniest quote of the offseason was when Dak said recently he doesn't care for money and would play for free. His contract is crippling Dallas' cap while he continually gets beat in the playoffs. Nice work Dak and thanks for the laugh!
