Just because I want Zorn to stay doesn't mean that I am naive enough to believe that he is going to stay.
What about his record in Oakland? You are conveniently not mentioning that in your posts.
Oh you mean the 3 divisional titles titles which is more than the 2 mentioned? The SB appearance in 2002? The hell of a performance against NE decided upon by calling Brady's fumble a non-fumble?
Allen didn't make the decisions in Tampa. Gruden did. Allen was just a yes man with a GM title. And his record was under .500.

A "real GM" would be what we - the fans - have been screaming for for years - a guy who would run the football operation and not just be Snyder's yes man. Don't beleive the BS from the press conference. Snyder and/or our new HC will be pulling all the strings. Allen is just a figurehead with connections to the team that Snyder's using to pacify the fanbase.
Well until we know who our coach and other FO positions we're looking at you can't really say that it will be an issue. Perhaps he'll be a "yes man" to a guy that's a hell of a personnel director? Didn't we have a problem with our scouts and personnel people being overridden by Snyderrato?
Well let's remember that he did field some very good teams in Oakland when he was there and won NFL executive of the year in 02. Would he have been my first choice? No. But let's give the guy a chance. And let's remember that every GM misses on draft picks.
Yep.. and who's to even say that we could've landed our top pick? The guy after that, maybe even the next, etc?
Where are Spence and Skinny Tee? Thoughts on Snyder's move?
I think Spence gave up posting here. I don't think he was big on us being critical of him... being critical.

Skinny is probably playing Modern Warfare, lol. He's logged an insane amount of time in that game. I wonder if he works.
Only thing that worries me about Gruden is that fact that he runs a VERY complicated system. I mean it's still the WCO, but as I said before he definitely runs one of the more complex schemes in the league. Weather or not he's more complicated then Al Saunders remains to be seen.
Well I know that many have forecasted Gruden as coming here but with the whole ESPN deal it's so far only cloudy with only a chance of participation in DC.
I tend to agree. Zorn was unqualified when he came in and while he's done an admirable job at holding things together and keeping his chin up during a really shitty time, I'm sure one of the things Allen is working on right out of the gate is evaluating potential head coach candidates. If this is Allen's ship to run, he needs to bring in his guys.
Yeah I can't see him finding enough good in Zorn from a combine talk and a few weeks of the season to make him more comfortable with the Z-Man than other guys that he's known for years.

Re: BREAKING NEWS: Cerrato resigns (Bruce Allen hired as VP/GM) - merged

I don't care what anyone says about Allen's record as a GM it comes down to this. Vinny was a douche. Forget the OLine, bad draft pick and bad trades. He was a donkey-ass douchebag that no one but Dan Snyder liked. He was universally disliked because he was a weasel(thank you saden). That couldn't be good for our org. It just couldn't. Even if Allen is the equivalent of Vinny talent wise at least he'll be respected. That alone is an upgrade.

the timing is funny, there's actually a forecast for about 12 inches of snow this weekend in DC.

Skinny Tee is doing the medical report on Cerrato's ego and projecting how long he'll be out. :p
