He hasn't been constantly looking for work when it comes to him being a QB coach. He did get fired by the Ravens, but they made him the fall guy for Cam Cameron's shitty offense. Flacco was even pissed about his termination. |
Peyton Manning: Our own sources are telling us it's not an option. Which is what I've been saying. Where he ends up I don't know. I don't think it's so definitive that he won't return to Indy
In regards to PM smoot, you hearing anything about his health? Any time table on his return or if he's being told to retire by docs? |

I've heard everything from should retire now to he still has a good shot at a full football recovery. Hard to say right now. |

Didn't know about back surgery? Makes more sense to me now Jax dumped him and no one picked him up... |
Re: I See QB Rumors (2012 QB Thread: The Sixth Sense)
I'd like to see us find a "cheap" solution to QB that isn't Rex, Beck or some other goofball. IDK who fits the bill per se, but I'd look first at UFAs. Hell, don't even care if the contract is large in $$, but I just don't want to see us trade any picks/players. Risk/reward is too sketchy based on 1) the last two years of the regime 2) realistic expectations of the next two years under the regime.

Re: I See QB Rumors (2012 QB Thread: The Sixth Sense)
This is why theoretically Manning to DC would be "perfect" if the Colts released him. But again there's absolutely no reason for Manning to want to come here.
What other QBs will/could be FAs or even UDFAs? |
Re: I See QB Rumors (2012 QB Thread: The Sixth Sense)
Genius for the skins would be to sign manning, trade up for luck or rg3, let them battle for it in training camp, if Peyton requests to leave, trade him!!!

But either way if Manning was a free agent, the only way I'd want him to come here and fill the void was if the guy we hopefully draft wasn't ready to start from day one. |

Manning has been running the same O for years & has such a command of it. Would the Shannys give him the kind of pre-snap flexibility he's used to? You would think they'd adjust some things for him, but we saw w/McNabb that they wanted things done a certain way. I know Peyton is totally different, I still see the potential for a system misfit that would again set the team back & create more drama. Hopefully, he retires. Smoot's early info about the skins not being that interested, makes sense to me. I think in some ways getting Manning would be more of a risk for Shanny than drafting a qb early. |

This. Today's niners = broncos w/ Mike and Elway those two years. Manning could also win the Lombardi w/ Ravens or maybe Jets. Def not Skins lol Probability of Mike S winning another SB is less than a Ron Paul presidency... |

Well duh, but I'm just saying there's at least one reason Manning might want to come here. |
