He’s human like you and me, 34 years old and was playing tentatively for us. How do you think he would be after a gruesome injury? I don’t know, he might be scared shitless, might not come back and retire. Will find out next year, all I know is we will be drafting a QB next year.
Dude, just because you don't want him to play, doesn't mean he won't. Alex is a competitive guy and I'm pretty sure he won't want to an injury dictate how he leaves the NFL. Just like when Steve Smith had a season-ending injury in his last season, and came back for one more season. So just stop wishing him away. |
Re: ALEX SMITH and moving forward.
I bet he will do all he can to play again. Some on here wish he would retire, I know but he doesn't seem like the kind to go out that easy. Also just because he's on the roster doesn't mean we cant draft a QB.

I just don't want the excuse when setback happens, slow recovery, etc. Then for folks to be like "well what did you expect?" I just expect us to have a plan b. I just wonder from a mental aspect...no saying AS is mentally weak...but I think that's apart a massive injury that's over looked. When CT cameback from injury this year, there was a little bit of that...learning to trust your body again. |

My concern with Alex, provided everything goes well, is how mobile he would be after this injury. |
Re: ALEX SMITH and moving forward.
It's not like the guy was lighting it up. I hope he comes back but not as starter. You can already hear w/ passive words that the guys on the team prefer Colt.
|
Re: ALEX SMITH and moving forward.
Yeah part of the Colt support is simply because he’s the guy now so let’s get behind him. I mean Jordan Reed was talking about how he has a cannon arm, come on now.

Well most of the guys playing are guys that typically practice with Colt and not the first team. Regardless, it is good to see the team rally around Colt. |
Re: ALEX SMITH and moving forward.
Both QBs are on the wrong side of 30.
You need to find a young talented QB regardless of what happens to AS. You can win with a young QB if you put them in the right system with the right players(Mahomes, Goff, Trubisky). Guys relax. Bruce Allen isn't done fingerblasting us yet. Lets wait and see what bullshit he pulls this offseason. |

I mean isn't Doug Williams running the personnel side of things with Jay? |

We know that Peterson was Doug, but Alex was Allen’s move 100% |

Also, my feeling is that the draft was mostly Doug and Jay. It seems that Allen is just involved in any major move, but most of the day-to-day/routine move is mostly Doug and Jay. |

Knee Jerk check Andy Reid Fleece job check Horrible Extension check Give Up Young Def talent check Skins get Fingerblasted check Another Bad QB Decision check Yup Bruce's finger prints all over this one folks |

I just don't get how "horrible" this trade was, given the situation the team was in when it happened. I mean at least we didn't give up $87 million guaranteed to be 5-4-1, nor are we 4-6 right now. |
