Re: 'Occupy' types
I don't thinks it remotely fair to compare statistics like that from country to country to country.
Regarding how our country was is/shaped by history, weather, demographics, land mass, borders etc etc....how could you possibly make a fair comparison? I have no doubt some things are much better in Sweden or whatever little country you want to cherry pick. The USA is a megalapolis compared to them. Which do you think will be easier to manage? |
Re: 'Occupy' types
Regardless of the stats things are far from being fine and dandy in the good ol' US of A. The population excuse is kinda weak. Japan for example is far from being a little country.

Re: 'Occupy' types
I agree the USA needs a lot of work in a lot of depts.
But I'm not going to spend a second worrying how we rate against Sweden, Luxembourg and Iceland etc etc I dont think it makes sense to gauge how good our country is in various departments by measuring it against other countries. Show me a perfect one with a perfect history and then maybe I'll be more interested. We should decide for ourselves what needs improvement and want to address it. Not because we need to keep up with Buttpluggastan. |
Re: 'Occupy' types
it's a pointless chart. How do you rank freedom of the press for example? because there are legitimate laws does that make a country's press less free? or high speed internet, when you have a country that is like South Korea in size versus the US. India is the smallest prison population, what does that mean.
All that aside the fact that the US spends around 43% of the world budget for military expenses(per SIPRI), indicates that we do have some priorities outta whack |

It drives me crazy when people say we need to spend more on the military. We could cut our military spending in half and still be the biggest badass on the block - while also having better schools, health care, etc. |

Maybe its not a health care problem its a. Fat problem. |
Re: 'Occupy' types
FD, I think it has less to do with fatties and more to do with this:

Re: 'Occupy' types
"The rat that we find in D.C. is indeed the Norway rat," said Najma Roberts, a spokeswoman for the city’s Department of Health.

It may be a good idea especially from a foreign relations prospective to contact the Norwegian Embassy before breaking up or exterminating any vermin families...... |
