True. But I don't see how the "d" word can be invoked at all without a championship. And the Dream Team didn't even make the playoffs.
I agree with your first point, but I also feel this story is mostly media-driven since we're in a slow news cycle. It's standard athlete-speak as far as I'm concerned. Not once have I ever heard an athlete come out publicly and say negative things about his team. Generally you can lump players opinions into 3 categories: 1. I think we can make the playoffs. 2. I think we can win the Super Bowl 3. I think we can be a dynasty. Vick just chose the most extreme of the 3. |

Luck has signed, I think

You're right. NFL.com has confirmed it. Andrew Luck signs $22.1M Indianapolis Colts contract - NFL.com |
Re: Around the NFL...Offseason Style
So I guess everyone was waiting on RG III deal not the Luck deal. Ha

I predict a poor season from Vick with at least 3 games lost due to injury. |

Plus his autobiography. |

Who wants to read a book about him killing dogs?

Me, personally. I want to gain insight into the mind of a man who would do such a horrible thing. Plus it would give me more of an idea of how to judge him post-prison. I've been torn in my opinion of him ever since he got out, from what I could first tell it sounded like he was saying and doing the right things only to keep everyone off his back, and I couldn't really tell if he was sincere about it or not. Now I tend to lean more to the "he actually learned a good lesson from this whole ordeal" side. |

Re: Around the NFL...Offseason Style
He definately is leading the way as far as hype and endorsements goes. And now contracts.

Seems fitting then that he plays for the team that wins the offseason every year. "Seems" like the #1 pick does not make you #1 pick. Not yet at least.. I'll reserve judgement until there's actually football on. |

Not me, he's a "thug" and to me that inclodes every nasty connotation I can think of.So after we read about what a hard life he had we get to read how it was just a way of life....BS. |

Are we talking about Michael Vick? Man, it's so past tense now. There's a large population of people over in Japan, China, and Korea eating dogs and cats every single day which is far worse than dog fighting and nobody ever complains about it. I get that people love their pets but as long as it wasn't your dog that was engaged, then why sweat it? Vick has paid his debt to society, rejoined the NFL, and so we move on with life. I can't believe people are still talking about this. |
