From what SS said, he wasn't even scheduled to meet with Dr. Andrews until 1:30. So given that, plus the time it takes to do the tests, then get info in the hands of the Redskins brass, then put together a press release... My guess is we still have a few hours before word gets out.
They had a orthopedic surgeon on Sirius XM NFL Radio this morning who said just the contrary. If it is completely torn they can do surgery to reattach the muscle to the bone. If it is a partial tear, surgery can most likely not be done and the ACL can not repair itself due to its place on the inside of the knee, basically giving you a weakened joint until you completely tear it. The MCL and LCL which are on the outside of the knee can repair themselves with therapy and treatment. That prognosis scared me. I hope it is just his LCL and not his ACL being partially torn as previously speculated.
I read the a big benefit to a partial tear is that your ACL has nerves in it, so keeping your own ACL allows you retain a sense of feeling in your knee you would otherwise lose if you had a complete tear/replacement. Kind of like how you hear about athletes who have trouble "completely trusting their knee", if you have a replacement ACL your brain doenst get any feed back. However, RGIII already had a replacement so i dont think this would matter?

Also heard, your ACL is made up of different parts (2 i think?), and if its a partial tear which is isolated you can replace just the part that was torn.

Yeah, I know I was a ghost for basically the entire latter half of 2012. Had a lot going on personally- first really bad, then really good- that really kind of kept me away from the 'Path.

Anyhow, I'm back, and I'll be around.

so youre telling us that not one redskins fan decided to go into Dr. Andrews Office, sit in the lobby, and figure out what info he could gleam? Or use any sort of spy/sound localization/amplification equipment to hear whats being said behind closed doors?

BTW, glad to have you back. you've been missed.
I just can't believe all of the media attention this is getting. I'm going to take a guess that a lot of coaches would have done the same thing MS did. If your potential rookie of the year QB says he can play then he's going back out there. It backfired and both MS and RG3 will learn from this. We're not talking about Jeff George and Old Ball Coach.
I think it's simple: people love him. He's a great kid, you can't really say anything bad about him except, perhaps, that he is fearless to a fault. Smart, driven, a sensation on and off the field in terms of character and poise. He's money. He's Showtime. He's got the "it" factor to the nth power.

And those people who love him are worried about him.

Like us.

He's going to play football again. And Gaea-willing, he will have finally learned the proper respect (not fear, because I don't think his heart pumps kool-aid so he has no idea what it is) for what he faces on the field and how important he is to this franchise and will stop taking the risks he takes.
You're thinking waayyy too much. Between Griffin and Shanahan we won the NFC East. Stop there, and be very, very careful with the "boy" reference...
Are you serious? He is a boy. He is 22 years old. Stop trying to stir the pot. Besides Alvin Walton is 200 percent rite.

My prayers are with RG3 and all those involved in this situation; especially his family.

I've been noticing a great deal of concern, frustration and finger pointing the last few days. All understandable under the circumstances.

However I believe the NFL has a procedural problem here that needs to be addressed sooner than later. Decisions on a players health should be in the sole hands of an independent medical team; not an athelete or a coach in the heat of 'battle'. Medical conditions should be vetted and decided by medical professionals not caught up in the warrior mentality of the moment. I hope the NFL approaches these medical issues on a league level and delivers a sound policy and procedure to protect those who should not be on the field due to medical conditions that happen as part of the game. Just my 2 cents...
