This dude is a big J journalist, not a gossip guy. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
I love the DC Sports Bog, been reading that since the days when it was just Steinberg doing all the work. He usually does softer, get-to-know-athletes stories/opinion articles instead of getting in deep with any one franchise. Really hope he/Thom/Kevin are right on this one, at this point this seems to be the best case scenario. Don't scare me with Cooley as GM scenarios though, there's absolutely no way a guy who has never worked in a front office before should be put in charge. |

Let the new GM work with Gruden for a year and go from there. The Alex Smith situation is only gonna screw us this year anyways. |

I’m gonna be pissed....another dumbshit Snyder cronyism yes man bullshit move. Disgusting. |
There is little to support your contention. Allen might be fired after the season is over.
There is little to support him being fired. DS history with GM's (particularly VC) is to fire in season, and after the Giants debacle, he could have fired him with no fan backlash. Obviously, he still could and fans would be happy, but consider the following facts. The Skins got blown out by the Giants - BA stays The Skins get thrashed in the media for Reuben Foster signing - BA stays The Skins bring in buttfumble who fails - BA stays DJ repeatedly calls out the coaches - BA stays and allows JG/Staff to release DJ Dan Snyder accepts the resignations/fires a promising COO and staff who are here less than a year - BA stays on the football side. As President, BA could be held responsible for any or all of the various issues. Certainly the fans as a whole have called for his dismissal, but DS has made 0 moves that show BA has lost his support. You say there is little to support my contention, except the fact that as President, BA could have been moved, let go at anytime without backlash or in season concerns of firing a coach, and DS has done NOTHING to show that is in his plans. |
Re: Time to clean house 1.0.
I don't know if that is "a purge". As Sheehan said a couple of days ago, in 31 out of 32 organisations, the firing of a couple of business guys isn't even a news, fans don't know their names.
Dysfunction in this organisation leads us to react to everything, but I don't know that those firings were an indication either way... Envoyé de mon SM-J320FN en utilisant Tapatalk
Fair enough purge was a harsh word, but if you let the COO go because you plan on moving the team President into an equivalent position, you make simultaneous announcements - that would have been the easiest way to handle moving BA out of football operations - but DS didn't so I doubt there is a reason to expect a change in the off season. |

Snyder doesn’t like to fire football people during the season. He’s publicly admitted it was a mistake to do so in the past. Bruce will be reassigned or let go after the season. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Gruden coming back. Yay us. Mr. 7-9.
Maybe the east will be so bad next year Gruden finds a way to go 8-8 and can actually make the playoffs. |

Re: Time to clean house 1.0.
From Hogs Haven:
If Bruce Allen stays, which never really seemed to be in doubt despite the #FireBruceAllen campaign on social media, he will still have influence on the entire organization. It won't matter what his new job description is, this will not be good enough for a frustrated, angry, and indifferent fan base that is more and more ready to move on. Dan Snyder lives in an insulated bubble and is reportedly surprised by the fan revolt. He doesn't have a clue what he has done to the organization over the last two decades, and there doesn't seem to be any end to the reign of error. The Redskins continue to make money, but the cracks in the local fan base are getting bigger. Dan Snyder doesn't care, and Bruce Allen will outlast us all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Bruce is team president. An organizational shake up already happened and he could have moved Bruce at any point after the Giants game and he hasn't. In terms of Snyder not moving football people in season that referred to coaches as far as i understood it. I have never heard DS say firing VC in season was a mistake. |
