I'm guessing he's talking about the Swedish versions of the movies, which I personally didn't really like. But I'd definitely looking forward to the new movie.
I REALLY liked the first book (Dragon Tattoo), it reminded me a bit of the Hannibal Lector series, but the other two weren't nearly as good. They just sort of dragged on.
I thought the Swedish version was one of the best book-moive adaptation I have ever seen. What gets fustrating for me is trying to read the sub-titles and see the action at the same time. |

quarantine - a horrible movie. i am hammer time but i feel bad for giving ss an uneccessary hard time. but man .. im hammer! i watched 2 movies since coming home tonight. havana with robert redford was hoorid, i gave it a good 30 mins. i then put on quaratine which i actually thought i liked when i saw previews a few years earlier.

I doubt if the American version tops it. That said, I would read the books first because as good as the movies are, the book(s) are even better. |

Im very excited about the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo movie and the entire trilogy.
But its going to hard to top my number one Scandinavian movie trilogy: Pusher (1996) Pusher II (2004) Pusher III (2005) Pusher trilogy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia if anyone likes foreign films about the criminal underground in Europe...I strongly suggest these. |

i love you man and the hills have eyes were very bad, 2 out of 5 for both. you wanna know how redbox makes money?people like me rent the movie a buck a night on friday thinking theyll watch it that night but then sunday rolls around, then monday then maybe they watch it tuesday.
im watching the new true grit tuesday night. really liked the original. if i had more beers id watch it tonight . i might actually walk up the street and get a six. honest question. anyone else ever say to their lady "hey wanna get a movie from redtube tonight?" then she says "ya mean that porn website that keeps popping up on our computer? no." |
Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
Anyone see Paranormal Activity 3 yet? It's rated R, so I'm kinda excited for that seeing as the first 2 were PG 13. Probably gonna go see it on my birthday next week.

Besides, if the sex is bad enough that you gotta look at porn for inspiration with your lady then you need to work on it. Keep it fresh. Try new things. The last girl I dated, which didn't last very long, had i tried that with her i'd prob have been kicked out of her house and my number blocked (but that's my fault for trying to get with a prude). Anyways, to get back on point, I saw True Grit a while back with some company, and it wasn't that bad. I'd recommend it. Matt Damon played a really good role and I'm always partial to Jeff Bridges since I saw the Big Lebowski. As for I Love You Man, it was okay. Not a "must see" but I'd watch it again. |

This is probably the nuttiest flick I've seen this year. Lucky McKee is keeping the American horror genre in the game.

I've seen Girl Next Door... I think it was based on a true case, which is very scary. Ellen Page also starred in another version called "An American Crime." And yeah, Ketchum is pretty nutty... I think his mentor was mentored by Lovecraft, so that may explain the wackiness. I just copped "The Offspring" which is supposed to be part of a trilogy that ends with "The Woman." McKee also made a really good flick with Bettis (the wife in The Woman) called "May." |
Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
1408 was alright i guess. started off pretty strong with a good premise/canvas for a good thriller but fizzled half way through.
get him to the greek was pretty funny, wish i had watched the hard word instead though. |

Two thumbs up!
Hahaha, so this isn't date-night material? I actually screened this for my department's Halloween movie night Friday... mostly college kids in attendance. One girl got really mad at the end and wondered why I showed it. Nearly everyone was impressed that it didn't go where they expected it to. Mredskins, I watched Hall Pass with the lady last night. Definitely wasn't that great. Lucky for us I only spent $1.25 (thanks Redbox price hike) to watch it. Also, and spoiler alert for those who have seen it, there was too much unnecessary dick in it.

Ah never seen it but thanks for telling me about it. My screen name for the record is mredskins I am not Mr. Redskins or Mredskins. I only use m becasue my name is Matt so the M just refers to my first name. Not to single you out Mooby common mistake. It can be confusing. |

[YT]o3lUAZLB4JY[/YT]
I have yet to see the film but I can imagine what it is like, most likely horror porn. I am huge huge horror film buff and quit honestly I agree with the guy in the video. Horror porn to me is a waste there is no value it doesn't scary me (the whole point of horror films) it just makes me want to puke. Movies like: The Exorcist Let the Right One In The Ring Halloween (First One) etc... Are all good horror films with some gore in it but there is a story line and it scares you. This horror porn shit has no story line it is all about lets see how gross we can be. Basically it is porn instead of no story line and just sex scenes, it is no story line and just gore scenes. IF that is your cup of tea great but it sucks becasue it has watered down the horror genre of actually scary good movies. Best part of the film is when the guy who is trying to clam him down says "Can I just please finish one sentence?" and the complaining guy says "I doubt it." Had me rolling. |
Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
This probably the worst of the worst of the horror porn:

Most brainless torture porns get slammed by critics... The Woman got an 80% on RT. I'd also argue that my favorite horror movie, Martyrs, is often mistaken as torture porn. |

Saw Everything Must Go a couple nights ago. Definitely not up to par with Will Ferrell's comedies, also don't be fooled by the previews as the comedic moments are spread highly thin. Not really that interesting, and pretty average in my book.
Also saw The Human Centipede yesterday as well, for those who say it's gruesome I mean the movie itself isn't as gruesome as the idea behind the title is. The first one really just sets up the second one apparently. Gonna watch the second one soon, heard it's wayyyyyyyy more gory than the first. |

Immortals was a fun watch even though it completely ignored/changed a majority of the mythology behind this story. Tarsem Singh definitely brings a unique style to his movies and the fight sequences involving gods did not disappoint on that front.

This poster is badass!! Also on a Batman related note, the part of the movie briefly shown in the trailer of Robert Downey Jr in drag and with makeup on made me think he could pull off an older version of the Joker if they ever decided to recast that role. |
