A 14 point lead in the NFL is not anything significant. Teams come back from that type of deficit all the time.

Yeah but the contenders take that 14 point lead and turn it into an even bigger lead that teams can't come back from. We lack the killer instinct. Once we get leads we grow complacent and decide it's easy living from there on out, and it kills us every time. If this was the 2004 defense this game would've been over at 17-3. Instead it's the 2006 defense where no matter how big of a lead we have, we can't stop them in the end.

True enough. The Cardinals came back and almost ended up stunning the Ravens. And that was at least a 21 point defecit.

We are not the Indys, NE, etc... of the NFL, nor are we the Raiders, Falcons, etc... of the league either. We are a growing team that is going to be a bit of a rollercoster ride this year. I would like to see this team make it to the Playoffs and be compitive through out the season but never do I think they are going to win the SB. This was a tough lost but we are still in it by a million miles. Remeber our playoff year in 2005 we lost to the Raiders at home that year can't get worse then that and we still made the playoffs.

Now we need to stop crying and cheer on the BEARS!!!!!

The only thing that makes this loss that bad is that the Cowboys will probably beat the Bears. We need to keep up with the Cowboys and this year that will probably be a very tough job.

Or, to simplify, "played poorly."

the game goes into ot and we prolly win if portis gets those 1 or 2 handoffs... plain and simple that was the worst decision EVER.

Re: Week 3: Giants at Redskins Game Thread

First and goal on the one yard line with 50 seconds left. Run the ball with Portis 4 straight times. If we lose, we lose, but we go out giving it our best shot. This was a coaching debacle.

Our division is always tough...we'll get another shot at it in New York...

I just can't get over that. How do you win the TO battle and still lose?

I knew as soon as I heard that Plaxico Burress was actually going to play today, we were in trouble. He is the biggest playmaker on the Giants, hands down. Sure enough, he was the difference today.

Of course, if we could just hand off the ball without fumbling it away, or if we could do better than a 3-and-out after the ST pick, we could have won easily.

Oh, well...at least we still have a better record than the Chargers! :laughing2
